It wasn't long after the sun had set that a very determined toddler came bounding out of the house with a red ball in her arms. The folds of her high end dress swayed with delicate ease around her legs as she ran down the front steps, across the manicured drive, across the lawn and into the garden.
Very few lights lit up the millions of spring flowers, the moon being most prominate. Her bi-colored eyes beamed gleefully until she looked around. Where was everyone? Usually someone was here, and she wanted to play!
"Come out, come out, wherever you are~"

Overhead, a zooming sound could be heard. A strange creature with the tail of a snake and the upper torso of a kitty-person was flying towards Deirdre. Cookie's arms spread out at her sides and she had to point herself into the ground to land but hey, it was a landing right?
Sitting up, the pink haired female brushed off her face and smiled at the vampiress with huge eyes, waving a hello.

Deirdre's instictive senses kicked in just enough to have her flail out of the way with a shriek. Where the gargoyles at it again?! Those jerks! When she turned around, as mad as a wet hen, she paused and openly gaped. What....what was it? Dumbstruck, she waved back before snapping out of it.
"Who are you? You don't live here." The toddler bent to pick up her ball from the stones and accidently knocked it over to Cookie. She bit her lip, then quirked a brow. "Wanna play?" He, why not? No one else was around.

The tot blinked a bit and smiled, pointing at herself. "Cookie." she said, for surely Kaito'd have told people who she was, right? "Kaito friend."
Leaning down, she rolled the ball back to Deirdre, nodding fast. She wanted to play!

Kaito had a friend? How could he have made a friend without her? Deirdre wasn't jealous by nature, but every once in a while a little spurt would send her over the edge.
Like now; she decided to make Cookie her friend and not Kaito's. Then he wouldn't be so sneaky anymore. Smiling proudly, she curtsied gracelessly before picking up the ball. "Deirdre, Kaito's sissstur. Catch!" The little hybrid tossed the ball, accidently knocking it a little too far in the air.

Cookie bounced up on her tail to catch it, turning to her side so she didn't go bouncing and flying again on the second hit. She mewed excitedly and threw the ball back, missing by a little bit. This would be lots of fun!

Deirdre growled and turned back on Cookie, her usual habit when things didn't go perfectly before chasing after the ball. Still, once she had it, she threw it back with a giggle.
By this time, the gas lamps scattered throughout the garden were beginning to gain power. And excitedly, she noticed that her favorite one had been turned on; the rainbow one that turned the fountain all different kinds of colors. "Look, look. It's blue, .....pink......red....and bloooooo."

Cookie turned to look at all of the lights and got knocked down by the ball hitting her cheek. The kitten laughed at that before sitting up to stare in awe. So many colors!

Deirdre tucked the folds of her elaborate skirt underneath herself as she hopped up, then shimmied on the edge of the fountain and started unlacing her shoes. "C'mon! It's pwettier over here."
The lights bounced off the water, illuminating her pale skin in a match up of colors. When she dipped her bare toes into the water, Deirdre shivered, then relaxed and stood up.
She then turned around and held a hand out to Cookie.

Cookie slithered over to the other child before carefully climbing into the fountain and splashing a little. Yay splashy water! It was cold but the chimera liked it just the same, taking Deidre's hands and bouncing a little, not getting her usual oomph in the water.

For once, she didn't care that her hair was completely soaked or that her designer dress was ruined. Deirdre laughed and splashed water onto Cookie before running around to the other side of the fountain. It was cool and felt good with the warm breezes flitting about.

The chimera chased after her new friend, splashing in the water and watching the pretty colors against the night sky. Wooooooow, this was so pretty!
Eventually the kitten flopped onto her back, floating a bit in the water and staring at the sky and water overhead. Wooooooow...

Deirdre's shoes squished in the fountains water, causing her socks to slip down around her ankles. Her blonde hair was plastered to her face, the flower in her head band as dead as the castle's residents.
She laughed and came around the fountain, then squeeled and slid, flopping down on her butt to keep from running over her new friend. The toddler couldn't help the growl that escaped, but when she looked up, she smiled and wrapped her arms around her legs, content with resting.

Cookie sat up after a bit, long pink hair dripping in her face. "Fun Dee is Fun."
The tot yawned a bit and shook her wet hair a bit, her bells ringing as she did. "Wet." Because that wasn't the understatement of the century, now was it?
Cookie turned and crawled out of the fountain, shivering a bit. Wet and water was fun, but not too much. "Dee come out?"

Deirdre laid her head on her knees, then snapped up to look at Cookie. "Really?" No one had called her fun before, save for her brother, but he only did that when they weren't in trouble.
"Mmm." Since her body temperature was naturally lower than most, she was comfortable in the water, but she didn't want to be left alone. So, she crawled out of the fountain with her shoes squeeking. "C'mon. Go dry." She wobbled and squeeked, her hands out at her sides as the folds of her soaked clothing weighed her down.
The doorman could have died. "Princess, your soaked! And...you have a friend. What on earth were you two doing?"
"Playing." She answered bluntly and squished her way past him into the entricate foyer. "Towel."
"Of course."
