Loki was supposed to have gone to Zee's place for lunch, but the young fae had been rather unwilling to visit the sickly elf. He didn't want to end up catching whatever his uncle had. Instead, he had decided to visit his Aunt Stasia; well, actually, he had decided to visit Aesica. It was a bonus if Aunt Stasia was present.
He knew her house by heart at this point, having been there a few times before. He knocked on the door. Maybe Aesica had grown too! Maybe they could play together! Maybe they could finally start working on their happily ever after. He could only hope that Aesica's older siblings were not present. True, he had only met a few of them, and those he knew he got along with--but he wanted to spend time with Aesica. Alone.

Loki was in luck. Ginger had dragged Zemel off to the park, 'Zuba had taken Cabonna into town to buy him some new clothes, and Nattie was asleep in her room.
Aesica sat on the floor, barely looking up at the knocking on the door, focusing on trying to stand up. Curse her weak legs that refused to listen to her! The baby tumbled over, sprawling on the rug-covered floor. She still couldn't do it. After weeks and weeks and months of practicing. The infant sighed, frustrated.
Stasia answered the door. "Loki, you grew!" she chirped, hugging her nephew. "Congratulations, kiddo! My oh my, aren't you growing up so fast? Come in, come in!" The half-elf stepped to the side, ushering the child in.

Loki gave a smile and returned the hug. It seemed he was still the affectionate toddler he'd been--only bigger. "I was hoping Aesica had too," he said. He walked inside, and looked around. "How are you, Aunt Stasia? I heard Uncle Zee was sick; you haven't caught what he has, have you?" Unlike what he would have done with many others, for Stasia, his concern was genuine.
"Hey Aesica," he greeted, waving towards the baby. "How are you?" So she hadn't grown. That was disappointing. He had so hoped she would have, like he had. So they could be closer in age, and maybe talk more.

"He's not sick, so there's no need to worry about me." Stasia said, smiling at her nephew. "And no, she hasn't grown. Little cutie's still my baby girl." She closed the door, heading towards the kitchen. "Want anything to eat? I was just fixing lunch." The loud "pop" of a pan lid hitting the wall was proof enough for that. Cursing in Russian, the half-elf ran to the stove to check the soup she'd had cooking.
Aesica looked up at Loki, waiting for her mother to leave the room before speaking. "Fine. You grew." she said, her tone sounding frustrated. Augh, it wasn't fair! He could already walk; how come he got to grow before her! She sighed before looking at her legs. "I've been try....trying to walk." she said, her tone indicating that her attempts were fruitless.

Uncle Zee wasn't sick? Had his mother lied to him yet again? "Mom said he was really sick, though. Like... can't get out of bed sick." If she had lied to him, he'd get her back! He'd put another spider in her room if he had to. "Oh, and lunch would be fine--if you have enough," he added hastily. He didn't want to be a burden on his favorite aunt.
When she left the room, he bent down next to Ae. "I'm sorry," he said, "I wanted to wait for you, really I did." He sounded genuinely apologetic. "I thought you would have grown too--but I'm sure you'll grow soon." He paused, and gave her a smile. "Trying to walk? I can help you learn, if you like." Well, maybe. He had been born being able to walk. He offered Aesica his hand. "Come on. You can walk with me."

"He's not sick, persay. He's just pregnant, that's all." Stasia called from the kitchen, trying to decided if the "soup" was salvageable. Ugh. "The baby's really taking a toll on his body......I'm going to order pizza. Any preferences?" She could here her baby talking....so 'Zuba had been right! That little sneak could talk!
"It's okay. You're forgiven." the little raven-haired girl said, nodded. "I know how. My legs just won't listen." she complained, sighing. "Too weak." Still, a tiny pale hand reached out, taking Loki's. "Thanks." Hey, maybe her pet growing wasn't a bad thing after all.

"Pregnant?" Loki repeated in disbelief. But only girls could get pregnant, everyone knew that! "Uncle Zee's having a baby?" He was so shocked that he almost forgot that he had been asked a question. "Oh... Pepperoni's fine. Whatever you like, Auntie."
Once he'd recovered from the shock the idea of his uncle having a baby had given him, he looked to Aesica. "Too weak? Nah, I think you're just too little. But I can carry you where ever you want to go, if you can't walk with me." He tried to help her up.

"Yep. He's having a baby. A little girl, I hear." Stasia said, grabbing the phone off the wall. Okay, so she was ordering a cheese pizza, two pepperoni pizzas, and a meat-lover's pizza. The joys of ordering for large families.
Ae stood, legs shaking and wobbling before they gave way under her weight. It was as she said; she knew where and how to move them, but they just couldn't hold her up. "Up?" she asked, face reddening in embarrassment and frustration. Ugh, she felt so helpless, like a baby! (No pun intended.)

Loki couldn't believe it. Not only was his uncle pregnant and going to have a baby, he was going to have a girl! "Poor Uncle Zee," he muttered. He wondered why the baby was causing so much trouble for him, though. He remembered what Aunt Stasia had been like before she'd had Aesica. Stubborn, and in denial. "Uncle Zee's got it worse than you did, then."
He paused, and glanced at Ae. She really couldn't walk, could she? He picked her up and balanced her on his hip like he'd seen his mother do with younger relatives. "So, whatcha want to do?" he asked.

"Yeah..." Stasia mumbled, falling silent a moment before placing the order. And then arguing. And threatening. And then.....laughing? The joys of ordering pizza from your place of employment; discounts and the ability to have fun with your coworkers.
Aesica looked down; ugh, how she hated the fact that people always had to pick her up. She hated being just dead weight! "Hmm....you're th-the guest. You pick." she said, leaning against her pet. Usually, she would have been happy to pick, but since he bothered to pick her up, he earned the privilege of picking their activity.

Loki frowned slightly, well he had been already, out of confusion over his aunt's behavior. Of course, he had never seen his mother order pizza before, maybe how Stasia did it was the typical way. "But I want you to pick," he said. That and he didn't know what exactly there was to do at his aunt's place. "How about we play a game or something? Where's your bedroom?"
He smiled down at her at last; he had decided he liked the feeling of her leaning against him. "Do you have some toys you'd like to play with?"

"I share a room. With brother." she said, pointing to the stair case. Aesica thought a moment, then nodded. "Dolly." she stated, pointing to her cloth friend who sat on the floor by the couch. The doll almost seemed to be looking at them, one cloth arm draped over a sleeping dustbunny.
It was at that time a ball of blue fur and sparkles sped through the air at Loki, barking happily. Circe, evil little fae dog..... The bundle of energy barked again, wagging it's tail and sending sparkles cascading down to the floor. Ae looked less than amused. Ugh. Glitterpup.

"With Zemel?" Loki asked, interested. "Or with another one of your brothers?" He knew she had several; he just didn't know which ones lived where. He was about to pick up the doll Aesica had indicated when Circe came flying in.
A chuckle escaped Loki, before he reached out his free hand to pet the glittery-fae-puppy-thing. "Hello," he said with a smile. "Is this your puppy, Ae? What's it's name?" he was trying to avoid giving the animal a gender before knowing which it was. "It's really pretty."

"Zemel." Aesica said, nodding. Who else? He was the only boy living in their house, after all. Silly Loki, asking that. Oh well, pets were allowed to be silly. That made them amusing, after all. And amusing pets were fun pets.
"No. Mother's dog. Name's Circe. Evil puppy." Ae said, glaring at the dog. "I'm on to you, dog." she warned, eyes narrowing at the glittery puppy.

"Circe? The Greek goddess of seductiveness? I remember her. She had an island to herself, and it was said that any man who went there never returned." Loki mused, looking to the puppy. "You don't look like an evil witch, Circe." He bent down to pick up the doll.
"Cute puppy," he added, smiling at Ae. "I like her."
