After watching, by choice mind you, the show "Nestor, the Long Eared Christmas Donkey" I realized I don't really see a lot of corny or silly cartoons with a Jewish Message.

Granted... Nestor the Xmas Donkey is no "Island of Misfit Toys" But still... a must see for the "WTF" factor.

Still any Jewish Cartoons out there?

Rugrats and Phineas and Ferb are, I believe, about Jewish families. I could be wrong.

Yeah but they're not overbearing about it.

I think maybe one episode was a Hanukkah episode.

FIVEL GOES WEST! My favorite movie as a child. That's decidedly more Jewish than Prince of Egypt/Joseph: King of Dreams.

Actually the Pickles (Rugrats) celebrated Christmas too. I think they just celebrate everything.

Yentil is a jewish musical. It is WONDERFUL. A Stranger Among Us is ok.

But cartoons? Holiday specials? It's just not in us.

I'm agreeing 100% the Fievel movies were awesome.

You seem to be forgetting Jews make up a tiny portion of the consumer market. Making a mass produced movie focusing on a "jewish" holiday isn't a smart business move. For some reason it's marketable to acknowledge chanukkah like its one of our bigger holidays.

Rugrats were mixed. Deedee's (mother) family are Jewish, while Stue (father) was Christian. They did both holidays. They also did Kwanza (susie the black girl), Halloween, Easter...

Go back and watch them again (especially the ones before Fievel goes west) they were very old country jewish. But it was done more to portray the perspective of immigrants trying to make their way into the new world.

Thats amazing. Not to sound juvenile, but Sesame Street was a favorite programme of mine as a kid. Even now, I love to see Sesame Street clips from other countries.

"Shalom Street" is at #2, #1 being "Sesamgade" which is Sesame Street in Denmark xd

EDIT: Why does this next clip go from English to Hebrew and back? XD

It's to teach both Hebrew and English at the same time. I'm actually going to buy the DVD set of Shalom Sesame and watch it. I can't wait for the new 12 episodes to come out.

I watched Shalom Sesame as well.

This was the closest thing I could find to an article I read in a Uncle John's Bathroom Reader. I found interesting and hope you do to.

It's about Sesame Street in Israel and nearby countries.

Yeah, they never SAY Fivel or his family has anything Jewish about them, but if you look at his parents and hear their accents, or really just pay any attenton in the first American Tail movie, it is basically another story about Old Country Jews immigrating to America. Except, you know, they're mice because it's a cartoon.

And you guys know I've gone to differnet Jewish schools for the last 10 years, right? Well from 1st to 3rd grade we used to sometimes get to watch a little bit of R'chov Sum-sum(Shalom Sesame). heart Epic win.
