Sarah:
Sarah Williams sat in front of a small human's mirror, admiring the look of a dove-gray, large-brimmed female's-hat on her head, two long feathers protruding out of the side of it. She had met Ms. Barbossa-Swann when she was out hunting several days past at twilight and the pair had hit it off quite well. She was a little uneasy about the other female's overly sharp teeth and peculiar eating habits, but Pearl had explained to her within their first few meetings that she never hunted other otters like some of her and her mate's kind.

The den was quite cozy, much more lived in than her own. It partly made her wish that she wasn't living alone, because she knew that was part of the problem. A den with only one otter hardly looked like anyone lived there at all. But when there was a couple or even a family? Even a little ramshackled looked better to her than complete order.

Pearl:
"How do you like it?" Pearl asked, peeking up from over Sarah's shoulder. She really liked the female and it helped that they were roughly the same age. Sarah was a little taller than she while she was the one with grown children, she was even a grandmother, but she was still a fairly young otter. Well, more in her later prime, but that was beside the point. She flashed a small smile at the look of admiration in her friend's eyes as she stared at the vampiress' hat. Pearl loved clothes, though it was farther down the ladder from her mate and family and thievery. But that was another story altogether.

Sarah:
"I think I'm just a bit jealous. Where do you get all these beautiful hats?" Sarah asked, turning her gaze just a bit to look at the red-head in the mirror. She caught a devilish gleam in the other female's eyes but wasn't sure why it might have been there. She had yet to come into the knowledge of Pearl's inherited habits.

Pearl:
Pearl grinned and shrugged.
"Oh, my daddy just loves hats, so he's always finding new ones for his kids and grandkids. That one's actually a little old, so if you really want it, you can have it," Pearl replied with a short nod, noting the look of joy that crossed her new friend's face at that. Oh, this was good fun, playing dress-up with someone her age. When she was younger, all she had were her brothers and they certainly wouldn't be caught dead in a dress. Drake might now, if you got him piss-drunk, but not in any other scenario. Of course, she had her mother, but it just wasn't the same. She had the opportunity to play with her daughters in the same fashion, but those little games never progressed farther than the girls getting dressed and then running of to play some other game themselves. And now they were all grown up.

To be able to "play dress-up" for once was really a fun experience.
"Here, now that we have the hat, let's see if I can't find an outfit for you."

Sarah:
Sarah's eyes lit up when Pearl said she could have the hat if she wished. They hadn't been friends THAT long, so it was certainly an unexpected kindness on her part.
"Really?? Oh, thank you Pearl! It's so pretty, I can't believe you'd let me have it," she replied and continued to admire it as Pearl spoke again. Sarah's smile grew as she reached for a wooden cup half-full of some spiced drink from a shop Pearl frequented.

Pearl:
Pearl dug around in a box she had gotten from the ranger's station, the place where she kept all of her clothing, looking for the right item for the dress she had in mind. She knew which one she wanted, a very pretty green that would go well with Sarah's eyes, but there was a problem with the dress. It wasn't quite made for an otter of either of their sizes and Pearl knew that Sarah would need a little bit of compression to get into it. Not too much, but a bit. And her white corset was the perfect tool.

"Ah, here it is. I have the perfect dress to go with that hat, but it's a little small, so you need to wear this under it. Is that okay?" Pearl asked, holding up the corset to show Sarah.

Sarah:
Sarah turned to look at what Pearl was holding up, blinking a bit at the piece of clothing. She'd heard of corsets, but she had never seen one or worn one for that matter. It... seemed like a fun idea. Plus, the warm drink had a very soothing effect on her senses, so being adventurous with clothing was pretty much as fun as playing games with her little brother, something she rather fiercely missed.
"Okay, you'll help me put it on, right?"

Pearl:
Pearl nodded and smiled as they got Sarah out of her normal top and somehow manage to get the constricting apparatus around her without hurting her wings. Pearl tugged the laces as tight as she felt they needed to be, eliciting a short squeak in surprise from Sarah before nodding again.
"Okay, the dress is, sadly, at my parents' den, but they are not too far from here. I won't be long, okay? Spike knows we're here, so he won't be coming back until dawn, so you don't need to worry about him." Pearl tilted her head, waiting for Sarah's approval of the plan.

Sarah:
Sarah wasn't sure what to make of the corset. It was a strange feeling, but not painful. It did, however, make her breathing a little difficult, but not terribly so. She just couldn't run any marathons in the thing.
"Sure, sounds fine," she told Pearl and watched as the other female left the den in quite a hurry. She knew that it was probably so that Pearl could get back soon and not leave her to her own devices for too long.

Sarah shrugged at this assumption and moved about in front of the mirror, admiring the look of the white contraption around her chest and abdomen. The hat had been taken off earlier to get the corset over her head and now lay on the floor next to the mirror.
"I can't imagine Pearl fishing in one of these things, though," she said out loud, shaking her head slowly with a short laugh.
