Everyone has jazz bands, but when I've gone to music festivals, for some it's just the school's name with "jazz band" beside it. I find that to be boring and not very creative (also lazy), but that's just my opinion.
Anyways, I was just curious what your jazz groups were called at your school or wherever it is you play jazz.
For me, out school has a bagillion jazz bands.... well, actually four, plus two improv groups. They're Jazzawokeez, iJazz (my grade came up with tha when we were in grade ten ^^), Intermediate (just mae this year because there were too many grade 10's and 11's wanting to be in jazz band), and Loganberry Jam which is the one I'm in. The improv groups just called jr and senior improv.

Phoenix VARSITY Jazz Band. We also got stands with the name on it and shirts with the name and logo on em.

The closest thing the college I attend comes to a cool music name is the drum line. On the schedule, we're "Percussion Ensemble". But we're announced as "Legion of Boom". 3nodding

I wish our Jazz band was that cool...
Our jazz band isn't even that big or important. We have such inconvenient times for ours (Once a week. An hour before school) that I don't even think it's worthy of a name...

We have two jazz bands, and two concert bands at my school. So for concert we have, Concert Band (which is made up of freshman) & Wind Symphony (made up of everybody else)
For Jazz we have, Jazz 1 and Jazz 2. (so uncreative).
Jazz one is all the vetren jazz players. The second jazz band is made up of mostly freshman, one junior, one senior, and two sophmores. I'm just in the second one because I play bass clarinet.
