Who are they? How to spot them? What to do once we know someone is botting?
Who are they?
Botters is the term fishers use to refer to people that use bots in order to fish. A bot is a program that does different things, such as granting the people using them all the rods, hook and reel the fish for them or even lets them pose as if they were an administrator. These programs mess with the way fishing is supposed to work, giving them an unfair advantage that they mostly use in order to try and gain gold.
How to spot them?
This is an important part. When you are fishing, you will most likely run into one of these botters that ruin fishing for everyone else.
There are several ways of botting, the easiest bot to spot is the one using an Angelic Rod PLUS, like this:

Here you can see me, sitting next to a bot using the Angelic Rod PLUS. talk2hand
If you see anyone using this rod, you can be 100% sure they are botting. They may claim that someone gifted them that rod, that they are moderators or developers or many other things. Believe them not, no one has that rod and the only way to obtain it is by using programs that allow them to cheat.
Others are a bit more sneaky and don't use that nasty yellow rod, but still can be caught. If you see someone that hooks and instantly gets the fish they hooked repeated times, they are most likely botting too, so pay attention! wink

What to do once we know someone is botting?
REPORT THEM. Plain, simple and easy.
Click on the person you want to report and a tiny window will show up, like this:

Click on Report. Once you have clicked, a report form will appear, that looks like this:

Select Cheating as a reason and add the proper information to the Notes box. Something like "This person is botting" will suffice. Once you are done, click GO and the report will be sent so Moderators can look into it.
