Basic Rod
This is the rod we all start with. Its casting distance is 70ft and you can see above how the lines look when you have hooked something. It only costs 100g in the Store. I would recommend this rod to everyone that is starting to fish in Bass'ken and for advanced fishers in Gambino and Durem to get some practice on the basic skills and reaction times.
Basic Rod PLUS
This is the upgraded version of the Basic Rod. Its cast distance is 80ft. The lines, as you can see are further apart compared to the Basic Rod, giving you more time to react. To upgrade this rod, you will need the Basic Rod and pay to 10,000 gold. This rod has better odds of hooking larger fish, and makes it easier to reel them in given the distance between the lines.

Strength Rod
The Strength rod is a short casting rod, 60ft. The lines are alike the Basic Rod, but they grow wider at the bottom as you can see in the image. It costs 1,850 gold in the Store. This is one of the best rods to start fishing with, it makes fish put less resistence when you pull. The only problem with this rod is that it doesn't hook large fish.
Strength Rod PLUS
This is the upgaded version of the Strength Rod. Its casting distance is 75ft and as you can see, the lines are wider. You will need a Strength Rod and 11,075 gold to purchase this upgrade. This rod is the one that is easiest to fish with, it has all the pros from the Strength Rod and it also hooks large fish.

Distance Rod
The Distance Rod, as the name says, is one of the rods with the longest cast distance, 90 ft. The lines are as wide as the basic rod, and at the top they curve and widen, as you can see in the image. This rod is worth 3,500 gold in the Store. This rod is the one of the non upgraded rods with the highest chance of hooking large fish. This means that it can get difficult sometimes given the distance of the lines. Its a perfect rod for fishing in Bass'ken Lake though.
Distance Rod PLUS
The rod with the maximum casting distance, 100ft. The lines are further apart than the ones of the non upgraded version. To purchase this rod, you will need a Distance Rod and 13,050 gold. This rod is the favourite among many fishers, it has a good distance between the lines and it has good odds of hooking large and medium fish.

Performance Rod
As the name indicates, this rod is an all round rod. Has a good casting distance of 75ft. The lines are tricky on this one, since the middle space betweenthe lines is smaller than any other rods. It can be purchased for 2,475 gold. This rod means a good challenge for those that are willing to take it. The problem, as you can all imagine, is the middle part and getting the fish through it without losing it. It can be a good rod if you don't have a problem with this, or it can become a great rod to practice with (or drive you nuts xp )
Performance Rod PLUS
The upgraded version of the Performance Rod. It has a casting distance of 90ft, and as you can see, the lines are wider but they still have that weird shape. To purchase this rod, you will need a Performance Rod and 12,500 gold. This rod has the top part of the Distance Plus, and the bottom part a bit smaller than the Strength Plus; its problem is still the middle part. Luckily, the lines are wider apart, making it easier to reel fish in. As I said before, if you can deal with the middle part, you can hook large and medium fish easily and with a better reeling in speed than the Distance Plus rod.

You may have noticed that the casting distance of every rod is referred to in this guide, the reason for this is a simple one. The further your rod casts, the bigger the odds of hooking larger fish.
For your reference:
Small fish can be hooked at 25ft or further Medium fish can be hooked at 45ft or further Large fish can be hooked at 65ft or further As you can see, the rod you decide to use or the distance you cast affect the fish you may be able to hook, so keep this in mind when setting out to catch a specific fish.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You may have also noticed the reference to "the Store". By this, we are talking about The Ole Fishing Hole, which according to Logan, the owner, it has "The finest fishing supplies, including rods, nets, and bait."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A final reminder about rods is that once you upgrade them, you will be able to use both versions, the upgraded and the non upgraded. You can switch between the rods you own, by clicking the arrows left or right at the bottom right of the screen, where the name of the current rod that you are using is displayed.
Also remember that the rods can be purchased in Gaia's Market Place, and sometimes for a better price than the one on the Store. The difference when purchasing from the Market Place is that you won't need to own the non upgraded version of a rod to be able to purchase the Upgraded one, and in the lake, you will be able to use both, upgraded and non upgraded 3nodding

Angelic Rod
It has finally been released, after years of waiting! This rod cannot be bought, you will have to fish for it; and fish hard! The requirements to get it are getting 75,000 catches. It does not matter if its junk or fish, all that you need are 75,000 catches.
The casting distance is the best that you can get, going up to 100 ft. and the lines, as you can see in the picture are alike the Strength rod's, but it has the advantage of having a great casting distance for those looking to get large fish easily. Great rod for getting Boldurs and Hellfish!
- Getting the rod.
Once you have qualified for getting the rod, you will have to wait a while. The rods are granted once a week, so it may take some days till you get it.
You will know you have it because you will get a Private Message from [NPC] Old Man Logan, titled "Angelic Rod"
The PM goes something like this:
Quote: Heya, bub! I've been seeing a lotta you around the ol' fishing hole lately, so I thought you could use a little upgrade. I've had some o' these Angelic Rods layin' around in my shed for a while, so I figured, "hey, why not give one to [Your username goes here]?" Naw, I don't need nothin' in return, bub. Seein' a fresh young face doin' some high-quality fishing is plenty thanks enough for me. Enjoy it. - Old Man Logan
