It's supposed to make it easier to recognize premium items.
Premium=sparkly, normal=not.
Each color stands for a type of item, rig win, etc.

premium items are like EIs and MCs. And cash shop items~
(@ paulaterra, Thnx! I thought it was some special thing, so i equipped some of my sparkly items~ I have a pure sparkly avi, cept 4 the pants~)
