Okay, I know that sounds corney, but it's true. Here it is.
On Septmeber 22, 2009, a brunette 19 year old stood at the airport in her Marine uniform, saying good bye to one of her cloest friends. Her visit to Florida was over, and she had to be in Afganastan soon. The German-Asian American and the redhead stood hugging eachother, crying. Everyone looked at the two, sorrow in their eyes.
"Do you have your lucky necklace on?" the redhead 16 year old asked, swallowing tears.
"Yeah. of course. Good byes have to be said, Catherine, so hello's can be said." the Marine smiled
Catherien nodded and hugged the Marine tightly. "Make me proud and be safe. You'll always be like an older sister to me, Katie..." Catherine said.
"And you'll always be the little sister I never had." Katie said, fresh tears moistened her cheeks.
The two then parted and talked everyday they could on the phone, or the computer, or video calls. But one Saturday, while Catherine was at her ROTC competition, at 5:42 Afganistan Time, 3:42 Eastern Time, Katie drove over a land mine and was flow to a American hospital in Dubi, Qatar (pronounced CUT- are), where she died Monday March 22, 2010, at approx. 3:40 in the afternoon, talking to Catheirne.
"I willed myself to live to hear my little sisters voice one last time." Katie said weakly.
"Please don't, Katie. Just live a bit longer. Just so a specialist can see you!" Catherine sobbed in to her phone.
"Catherine, I can't. It's my time to go. Listen to me. I'll always be watching over you. Be strong and live your dreams to the fullest." Katie drew her last breathand died, leaving Ctherine on the phone, sobbing.
Five days later, my fiancee-to-be, died from a fatal gun wound. I attended their memorials in my hometown on May 1 and May 2.
In honor of my friend, Katelyn "Katie" McAllen, and my fiancee, Andrew, I, with the help of my friends, am starting Operation: Support!
It's purpose is to 1) Raise awareness about the soldiers depression on the front lines and 2) have handwritten letters sent to them to help raise the spirits of the soldiers.
I hope to make it big enough one day so that we can get yearly donations started for care packages for the troops. But for now, I need support and so do our troops. Please help me!
If you are going to help me, message me, and I will give you the address to send the letters.
Here is the web address for our FACEBOOK PAGE!!! Become a fan if you can!!!!!

Thank you so much for your support ahead of time.

P.S. When ever you see a soldier, or a vertran, please say thank you to them, for all they have done, and are doing, to protect our nation. Also, please stay updated on O:S!, because I am going to have mini-projects going on as well. Thank you again!
