So far, not too much is known about Sid--he runs the gamut of behavior, from eerily composed to mischievious to just being a regular kid afraid of getting busted. As things stand, he and Vash are still testing the waters, so to speak, so expect more as they get to know one another. n.n

It had been a helluva day. When he'd been informed that Sid's upbringing was in his hands, Vash had thought he was going to faint. It was both the best, and most nerve-wracking, day of his adult life. Sure, things had been a little awkward between him and Sid...but that was normal, right? He still hadn't figured out why Sid had been entrusted to him, of all people.
Unfortunately, he hadn't had much time to get to know Sid today, but that was something he'd have to remedy, and in short order--he took his job seriously, and it didn't hurt that he had been almost overwhelmed with paternal love for the young lad the moment he'd laid eyes on him. He just looked so...alone, it made me want to reach out and hug him... Vash thought wistfully, somehow having missed the fact that everyone else they'd come across had avoided coming anywhere near Sid, who had simply grinned back at them mischieviously, as if he enjoyed the fearful look in their eyes.
Tossing restlessly in the strange bed he'd taken for himself in the drafty castle, Vash wondered how he'd gotten himself into this situation...and how he was going to cope. I mean, what if I'm not good enough at this guardian...thing, and it scars Sid for life? he thought, shaking his head and forcing himself to take a few deep breaths, one after the other. With a subdued "Mrrf." he rolled over and stared across the massive room, almost tempted to make a loud noise, just to see if it echoed. First thing's first...tomorrow, I think we need to work on a change of decor... he thought with a small chuckle as he fell asleep, exhausted after all the excitement the day had brought.
Somewhere else, in a room not too far away...
Feet dangling off the side of his bed, Sid swung them back and forth idly, looking around his room with a small grin on his face. His eyes roved over the rich, luxurious tapestries hanging on his walls--they all depicted extremely gory, graphic images of battles, or of knights hunting great big beasts. With a small, high-pitched giggle, he waltzed around the room, running nimble fingers across the lush tapestries, only hesitating when he stood before his favorite of them all, a depiction of a dragon being impaled upon a lance, but with so much detail done on the would that one could almost SEE the heart rupturing under the lance's sharp tip.
Allowing another small smile to flicker across his lips, he stood there for a few more moments, a mesmerized expression on his face. Then, so suddenly that it seemed out of place, he seemed to snap out of his reverie, humming tunelessly as he climbed into the massive bed that was as far away from the window as it possibly be, as per his request. Still humming softly, it was a very, very long time before the young winger fell asleep.

Staring at the ceiling, Sid shifted restlessly, more nervous than he was willing to admit about living with this newcomer--I mean, he might be creepy as all hell at times, but he *was* still a kid. Sitting up, he crawled out from beneath the massive comforter, half-stumbling as he went to stand by the wall, laying his cheek against the cool stone and closing his eyes. He stood there perfectly still, with his wings held in close to his body for a few moments, feeling the cold enter his body, and taking a twisted sort've comfort in the chill that settled over his bones.
When he couldn't prevent himself from shivering outright, Sid wandered back towards the bed, his hair dangling limply in front of his eyes, giving him an otherwordly, almost demonic look as he crawled under the covers. With a particularly terrifying smirk, he lifted a hand that he'd obviously caught on a splinter on the bed's wooden frame, and licked the small droplet of blood off his fingertip with one slow, liesurely swipe. In the silvery moonlight, his eyes gleamed, and then he went back to sleep, not even noticing the small bead of blood that re-appeared, quavering for a moment before trickling down his finger and making a small red dot on his pristine white pillowcase.

Yawning, Vashtya rolled over, swinging his legs over the side of the bed and stretching out the kinks in his back. Glancing at the window on the other side of the room, he thought about something fun to do in order to try to get to know Sid a little better. Maybe a trip into town to do some shopping... he thought, hopping onto the floor and wincing as the cold stone made contact with his bare feet.
Wandering down the hall to check and see if Sid was up, Vashtya pushed the door open carefully, eyes widening as he took in the closed shutters..and the gory tapestries on the walls. sweatdrop ...Well, I think i need to go get him something...suitably child-friendly. Vash thought, closing the door softly behind him and slinking off towards the entrance of the castle, determined to find a toy store.
Chuckling to himself, Sid peeked out over his comforter, pleased that the adult hadn't forced him out into the brightness that was outside. Maybe he won't be so bad... he mused, reaching under his mattress for a candy bar he'd hidden there a few days previously.
Whistling, Vashtya wove his way amongst the crowded streets, murmuring the occasional apology as he bumped into someone...and the occasional curse when someone banged into him. xD. Finally, he came to a small toy shop, and stepped in briskly, grinning. What to buy... he wondered, eyeing all the knicknacks and oddities on the shelves. Finally, he came to a sale bin, and spotted two bear plushies, a panda holding bamboo and a grizzly holding a fish in its mouth. Perfect...he's still young enough that a plush toy should be ok, and they're so CUTE... he pondered, barely containing his squee as he grabbed the pair of toys and made his way to the register to pay.
Carrying the bag with the plushies carefully, Vashtya made his way quickly back to the castle, wondering how Sid would like his gift. Entering through the front gate, Vash practically ran up to Sid's room, knocking on the door.
"Come in..." Sid said, his voice barely audible through the thick door.
Pushing the door open, Vash peeked around the edge of it, a grin on his face. "Guess what I gooooot youuu?" he said, in a distinctively sing-song voice.
Blinking, Sid stared at Vash in shock. He...bought me something? he wondered, his curiosity piqued, although he wouldn't admit it. His voice carefully schooled into a look of utter nonchalence, he waited for Vash to show him what he'd gotten.
Still grinning, Vashtya pulled the pair of plushies out've the bag, and held them out. "See? I saw these, and couldn't resist--they were just...well, I couldn't pass them up..." he said, flushing when Sid's expression hardly changed.
Taking the plushies into his hands, Sid looked up at Vashtya with well-concealed gratitude. "You got me a pair've stuffed animals?" he queried, not sure how to react...until he spotted the fish in the grizzly plushie's mouth. Looking up at Vash, he blinked. "I guess they can go on my bed." he said simply, tossing them carelessly onto his bed and waiting for the adult to leave.
Nodding, Vashtya made his way to the door. "Well, I'll be making lunch in a little bit, so I'll come get you when it's ready, OK?" he said, waiting for Sid's nod before heading downstairs, to explore the castle.
Once Vashtya'd gone, Sid picked the grizzly bear back up, flicking curiously at the fish. "So, you don't think he's so bad either, do you, Salmon?" he said, giggling as he threw himself onto the bed and carrying on what would've sounded like a one-sided conversation to any passers-by...and, it could be assumed, one never would find out whether he'd just named the bear, or the fish in it's mouth...
