Amara had been in control lately, much to her delight. This presented numerous opportunities for her to do what SHE wanted to do for a change. Things like watching sunrises and sunsets, swimming, bug-chasing. All wonderful things that Amara enjoyed endlessly. Sarai hadn't projected herself as of late, unless it was to hunt, and Amara preferred it this way. Sarai could be utterly exhausting to be around with her snarky words and thirst for destruction. Amara hoped she'd stay away for a while, perhaps long enough for her to make some friends.
Today she was collecting colorful pebbles from a dried lake bed, setting them in a tiny pile near her favorite dished sleeping rock. There were pink stones, green stones, silver and blue stones. Her own personal rainbow, as it were. Amara was in bliss, elated by such childish things. Perhaps tomorrow she would invest in pretty feathers; they would look ever-so-nice next to her beloved little pile of rocks.

Kianga had heard that the lake was not far from his current position. Tired limbs ached to feel the cool flow of water against azure fur, and he was sure that if he didn't find water soon he would shrivel up into nothingness. But beside the physical need for water came the emotional pull, he didn't remember too much of his past, but what he did was accompanied by the gentle sound of waves lapping against sand and the distinct smell of salt. Water, he was sure, was as every bit apart of him as his fur.
Paw after paw placed the large rouge lion upon a small hill and with eager eyes he gazed out, searching for the body of water he had been promised to find. To his dismay he found nothing but the dried up sand of what had surely been an impressive watering hole. He was about to turn back golden eyes made out movement against the sand. The creature was nearly the sand color as the ground, but he could clearly distinguish a pattern of white moving about the landscape. His heart skipped a beat and her quite literally bounded down from his towering hill towards the figure.
"Hello there! He called out, not wanting to startle whatever it was he was speeding towards head first. In his experience, a charging lion was rarely one another creature wished to see heading in his direction.

Amara immediately swiveled 'round to face the lion that was barreling towards her at an alarming rate. He seemed friendly enough, and with such a pretty mane, too. Amara loved yellow; it reminded her of the sun, and the bright bellies of birds that swooped low across the savanna, and the dried grasses that wilted with the summer sun.
Shaking herself out of her whimsical thoughts, Amara rose to her feet to greet the male. "Hello," she trilled, drawing attention to herself. Oh, and what a lovely pelt he had, the exact color of the lake she stood near, and the color of the sweet summer sky untainted by clouds, or the small flowers that dotted the landscape.
Bringing herself back to reality, Amara waited for the lion to present herself. Company sounded fabulous, especially with such a robust lion.

It was his lucky day for sure! Not only was he about to have some company, but it was the company of a pretty lioness. He was immediately struck by earthy tone of her skin and how it contrasted so nicely with the white spots along her forelegs. Kianga felt himself growing more and more self-conscious as he reached the female; she was everything that he wished he could be coat wise, natural, perfect, and he was suddenly ashamed of vibrant mane.
But despite his trepidation, an easy grin slid across his maw at the sound of her voice. He put on the brakes, wobbling uneasily as he attempted to to stop before running into the female. With a few awkward side steps he managed to pull himself together into a stable stance. "Sorry about that, I got a little carried away." He gave a nervous chuckle, "I just haven't seen a soul around in a long time and...Oh man I'm rambling, aren't I?" He made a show of shaking himself and then began again.
"Let me start again. Hello there, I am Kianga, friends call me Kian. Who do I have the pleasure of nearly running into today?"

Amara giggled, enjoying his rambling. She had a habit of doing it herself quite often, and meeting someone who had the same habit was pleasing. "Hello, Kian," she trilled, beaming at the vibrantly hued male, "I am Amara, and it is quite a pleasure to meet you." She did a small makeshift curtsy in the sand, silly for certain but Amara did have her manners.
"What are you doing, barreling about in such a manner?" The question was posed with the utmost grace, though a laugh almost spilled from her maw. She didn't want to laugh at the poor dear, not just having met him, but my he was quite charming.
Sarai could always tell the scent of a male. She loved males, adored males; it didn't matter to her what they looked like or what they spoke like. She didn't need fancy words. She only had to keep quiet until Amara finished with the pleasantries, and then she would strike. Sarai tired of laying low; and now, in the presence of a male, it would be HER time to rise.

The large beamed down at the the beautiful female as curtsied. He inclined his head, forelegs bending ever so slightly in a half bow in answer to her greeting, "I'm sure the pleasure is all mine Amara!"
Kian pulled a face, righting himself out of his bow, "Well why wouldn't one barrel about, didn't you hear...It's the best way to travel!" The sheepish grin was back in place and he shifted his weight from paw to paw nervously. "I just couldn't help but notice you from across the way and I suppose I got carried away trying to hurry over."
Beneath his fur a deep crimson blush was staining his cheeks, "It's just that I haven't seen a soul in such a long time and I was excited to finally see someone. Especially someone as pretty as you. Is that alright for me to say? I'm not coming on to you I swear. I mean, not that I wouldn't if I didn't know you better, but I don't so I won't...I mean wouldn't?" Oh dear he'd done it again.
"What I mean to say is...Well it's nice to have some company. What brings you all the way out here Amara?"
