Kofuku hummed softly to herself as she stood in the elevator, holding her precious package of a plate filled with cookies. Rocking back and forth on her heels, she watched the little number count the floors as she traveled into the basement levels. The cheery little 'ding' rang through and the doors opened to let her walk out into the halls of the computer lab. Still humming, she walked down the hall to where she needed to go and paused at a door, knocking on it.
Once it opened, she smiled to the Rocket on the other side. "Hi, do you know if Hayes is in at the moment?" She lifted up the plate a little. "I brought him some cookies...."
The other grunt blinked a little, then shook his head, looking the girl up and down; another girl looking for that guy. Boy was Agent Hayes able to get around. "No, he's at his room." He eyed the cookies, smelling them; hmmm, they were chocolate chip. Strange thing was there was writing on each of them.
"Oh, alright, thanks!" She gave him a cheery wave and turned, walking back to the elevator and riding it all the way back up to the Agent floor level. Stepping out, she walked around aimlessly, looking at the nameplates on the doors until she found the one she was looking for. Stopping in front of it, she took a deep breath to calm herself, then nodded her head. "Ready..." Reaching out, she knocked on Hayes' door.

"Pi-ka-chu," came a voice near the base of the door. There was the sound of a chair rolling back and a male voice, distracted. "Yeah, hold on-"
"Pika-pika."
A few moments later the door opened halfway and there was Hayes with Switch at his feet, barefoot in blue jeans and a t-shirt sporting a screen-printed string of binary. "What- oh. Hey." The agent sounded - and looked - a little surprised to see Kofuku there, but he smiled after a split second, mildly puzzled.
Switch twitched his nose at Kofuku and sat up straighter, catching the scent of cookies. One way or another, this was going to be good.
"What's up?"
Beyond him, something complex and circuited was laid out on his desk, and Alphard and Therac were visible snoozing in the rumpled comforter of his unmade bed, taking advantage of the sunlight.

Nervously, Kofuku chewed on her lip while waiting for Hayes to open the door. Once the door opened, she looked him up and down a bit, then gave him a cheerful smile. "I, uh I wanted to talk to you, and, uh... yeah...." It was evident that she was nervous about talking to him, since she was fidgeting a bit.
"Do... you mind if I come in? I made cookies." She held up the plate to him, showing the home made chocolate chip cookies with icing writing on them. It was obvious they were home made since they weren't exactly perfect in appearance. They sported 'I'm sorry' written all over them in cheery, bright blue writing.
"They're... I'm-sorry cookies. I made them because I thought an I'm-sorry cake wouldn't be to well received."

Okay, not quite what he was expecting, and likely to give people wrong ideas. The blond glanced down the hall, which was clear, then stepped aside. "Uh.. yeah, sure, for a little bit."
Moving into agent quarters not too long ago meant a lot of Hayes' belongings were still where they were supposed to be, but the entropic nature of the bachelor male was clear from the growing disarray. The floor was visible, but an overflowing laundry basket stuck halfway out of his closet, there was an energy drink set on the bookshelf next to a copy of Dune sporting a pair of headphones, and half a uniform draped over the back of a chair. The only really organized area was the desk and that had some project laid out on it at the moment - a pair of gloves, heavily wired, with a notebook and small toolkit open next to them.
And then there were the computers. He had four. Or parts adding up to that many.
Hayes looked down at the offered plate and grinned crookedly at the off-kilter lettering and the cake comment. "Heh. It was good cake. Y'know. From what I could tell. But thanks, Kofuku." He slid his hands under the plate to take it from her.
"Pi." Switch followed the cookies as if drawn by an invisible line.

Stepping into the room, Kofuku looked around, taking in his surroundings; they were bigger than than hers and messy... really messy. Looking back to Hayes, she beamed brightly to him, letting him take the cookie plate. "Yeah, it was good cake. The guy who makes them... he's a really crazy good baker, ya' know." Of course, she was probably the only one in the whole building who knew that the baker she was referring two was another grunt, and was also someone who she and Faleen had seen numerous times.
Seeing Switch following the plate, she squatted down. "Switch, those cookies are made special for Hayes..." Reaching into her pocket, she pulled out a pudding cup. "But I didn't forget you either."
Looking back up at Hayes from the ground, she jerked her head to the laundry basket. "Need some maid service?"

"P'ka!" Switch sat bolt upright, lifting his paws to take the pudding cup the moment it was within reach. "Chuuu," he crooned to the girl, cheeks sparking with happiness.
The blond grinned at the Pikachu and set the plate of cookies down on the nearest clear surface - a Beldum hovering motionless by the door. The Steel-type didn't seem to notice its use as an ersatz endtable; it didn't even blink. Hayes, however, did.
Kofuku bounced back fast. One minute she was hesitantly apologizing, the next she was.. beaming and offering to do his laundry.
Hayes kicked the basket further into the closet, dislodging a few socks in the process. "S'okay," he smiled. "I'll take care of it."
As Switch rolled past in his effort to remove the foil lid, the agent adjusted his glasses and looked back to Kofuku. "What'd you want to talk about?"

Kofuku watched the pikachu snatch away the pudding cup, then looked to see the Beldum, jumping a little in surprise. "O-oh, hi there..." She gave the pokemon a startled smile, then turned back to Hayes. "Well, I thought I'd stop by and drop the cookies off... and since you're not at work in the labs, maybe we could hang out? I promise, I'm not armed; I left the paintball guns under my bed, their ammo in the closet, and all chocolate syrups are in the kitchen area as far as I know."
When he kicked the basket in, she noticed the socks falling out, and without thinking went and picked them up, tossing them casually into the basket. Looking around, she noticed that there really wasn't anywhere safe to sit, so she got comfortable standing. "Aaaaand... I'm supposed to call you Agent Hayes now, right?" She obviously felt a bit more at ease, considering that her cookies were well received.
Watching Switch struggle with the cup, she sighed and shook her head. "If you'd waited, I would have opened it for you."

The Beldum stared unblinking at something unseen and completely failed to react.
"Pi-pika," Switch complained. "Hold up, buddy." Hayes knelt down, took the pudding cup from the 'chu, and peeled off the lid. Little yellow paws took it from his unresisting hands as he blinked at the question.
"Sure, but.. later? I'm in the middle of a project right now." Hayes looked back at the orderly mess of wires and circuitry on his desk and grinned apologetically at Kofuku as he straightened up. The blond took a cookie off the plate and studied the wobbly writing for a moment with a little half-smile - 'I'M SORRY' cookies would be too problematic to share with the other techs. He took a bite and chewed thoughtfully.
When he looked back up she was.. going through his socks.
"Hayes is still fine- uh, you really don't have to do that." It was half-laughed but there was something to his tone suggesting he really would rather not have her around his underwear.
"You made these? They're really good." Possibly in an effort to distract her, he waved the cookie for emphasis.

Kofuku, who had at this point moved around the room picking up dirty clothes, blinked and looked at him, her arms full of shirts, pants, and socks. "Huh? O-OH!" Her face turned red and she quickly tossed the clothes into his hamper. "I'm so sorry! I didn't even realize I was-"
Stopping mid sentence as he complimented her cookies, she grinned. "Really? You think so? I've never baked before, but a friend of mine gave me this recipe and I thought I'd give it a shot." Oh, she felt so proud of her cookies now, and best of all, Hayes liked them! That made it all that much better for them to be apology cookies.
"Hey... where does this door go to?" She asked, noticing another door that wasn't his closet, and she opened it. "HOLY CRAP! You have your own bathroom?!" Peering in, she looked around. "Oh my god, I need to get me one of these sweet deals...."

Hayes' mouth twitched to the side, but "Thanks," he said when she did as asked. "Yeah," he confirmed with a little grin. "You've had one, right?" The blond nodded at the plate as if to offer and had another bite, which he hastily swallowed when she started exploring.
This had been a mistake. He could see that now.
"That's the-" Well, she could see what it was. Navigating his way around the mess with the ease of the one who created it, the tech stationed himself between Kofuku and his computer desk. Protect the essentials. "It's shared." There was indeed a door on the other side, presumably leading to another agent's quarters.
He made another effort to get her back on task before she started playing with his shaving cream. "How's some time this evening? It's Annihilation night." Video games were universal, right?
"P'ka." Switch lurked behind the bed with his pudding cup.

"Annihilation night?" Kofuku pulled her attention from the bathroom back over to Hayes. "That's a type of game, right? How do you play it?" Her eyes scanned the room for anything that would inform her of this 'Annihilation' that Hayes spoke of. That was when she saw it on his bed.
"Oh my goodness, that is SUCH a cute plush, Hayes! I didn't know you like Jirachi, and it looks so realistic!" Walking to his bed, she leaned over to take a closer look at the 'Jirachi Plush' on his bed. "Wow, it looks so realistic too! Did you make this, or did you get this from a store?"

Still surreptitiously guarding his computer, Hayes scanned the room as well, looking for anything personal, breakable, or both. "Yeah, for the Wii. It's pretty simple; I can-" Show you the basics, he was going to say, but Kofuku was already on to something else.
Therac had woken up some time ago but hadn't moved from his sunny blanket nest. If he kept his eyes shut eventually the loud girl would go away and leave him in peace. Right? Right?
No. She was coming closer.
The Espeon tensed.
Beside him there was a sleepy "Uhh?" Alphard, who had been drowsing with his mouth in a little 'o' and his hands resting on his belly, cracked his eyes open when Kofuku leaned over him. He blinked a few times, not quite sure what the pink shapes in front of him meant, and floated up in the air with a gentle rocking motion.
"The cloning labs," Hayes grinned, watching her.

As the 'plush' came to life, Kofuku's eyes widened as it floated above her head and the she realized the cute little voice that she'd hear belonged to it. "Oh... my god Hayes." Slowly she turned to the agent, pointing at it. "It's real?! It's really real?"
And then it clicked on; Kofuku's Fan-girl mode. Hands clasping together in front of her, her face lit up excitedly. "Ohmygoditssocute!" Her words came out a mild a minute, and she turned back to the little Jirachi, eyes sparkling. "Oh, I just wanna cuddle it, and FWEEEEE!" Excitedly she let out the squeal; it was obvious there was some sort of high going on, some sort of freaky, cute -thing overload that girls seemed to suffer.

"He's really-"
Shriek.
Therac bolted. There was an anguished "Speon!" as the psychic Pokemon found his legs tangling in the comforter and half-leaped, half-fell off the bed.
Hayes winced.
"Ow!" said Alphard, watching the fall from where he floated, little face full of concern as the Espeon freed himself and shot under the desk.
The Jirachi looked at Kofuku, trying to settle on a first impression.
"Noisy," he decided.

"O-oops...." Kofuku instantly went to help the poor, radioactive green Espeon from the comforter. However, by the time she'd gotten down to his level and had figured out where he was caught, he'd freed himself and was only a brief streak of green vanishing under the desk.
Standing back up, she laughed a little, rubbing the back of her head. "I... Uh... sorry, fellow...." She directed towards the desk, then turned to Alphard.
"Hayes, ohmygod, seriously though, this has got to be the cutest little thing ever. Does it have a name? How in the world did you get it?!" She looked up at the adorable floating being of ultimate cuteness, wanting so bad to cuddle it.
