Weellll actually he is a tanuki Which is like the japenese version of a racoon. (Also called a badger-dog so thats were the badger comes in.) The tanuki has eyes and a tail very much like an american racoon but has enlarged testis and is thinner than a racoon they are two diffrent sides of the same basic animal

sorry I meant in america there are no tanuki so when we have our manga fan translated we have them called racoons so I figured that It was a racoon* looks down in shame at her ingorance* forgive me gaara
