The carnival was definitely a sight to behold. Bright flashing lights seemed to dance around with the various rides and booths in abundance, the smells of sugar and deep-fried goodness wafting through the air. The area seemed to have a golden glow about it, as if the happiness of its occupants had gained corporeal form. The mirth seemed to seep throughout the festivities, bringing smiles to the people one by one.

One little boy, though, managed to keep a poker face, untouched by the abundant excitement and fun the carnival offered. The small, petit little boy walked through the crowds of people, glassy and glazed blue eyes glancing around lazily as made his way through. The little boy looked about eight or nine years old, orange toned hair framing his chocolate colored face. Unlike other children, he seemed to be utterly alone; no parent in sight. He didn't looks upset, though, or worried. Just confused, and maybe a little lost.

The little fella ended up by the carousel, watching it as if spun around. His eyes lit up a little as the music reached his ears, but this enthusiasm didn't reach his expression.

The boy didn't react for a moment and, there for a while, it didn't seem that he had heard to girl. He turned his head slowly, eyes distant as he looked in their direction. He opened his mouth, as if to say something, but seemed to decide against it. The boy turned a bit more, so he was facing the two. His hand raised slowly and he gave an awkward wave. His eyes, which had momentarily gained some clarity, seemed to glaze back over as he looked down to the ground.

The boy paused a moment, as if processing the question. He raised a hand slowly, pointing to himself. "Quinn......Name is Quinn." he said, his voice soft and airy. The tone suggested a hint of a smile, though his face remained as blank as it had been when they'd first approached.

He blinked, hands moving forward awkwardly to accept the little apple,holding it carefully as if he were afraid it'd get snatched away. He looked at it a moment, then looked to the little blonde. "Th..." he started, his voice dying out before he could finish. He gave the little one a stiff hug; his way of saying thanks since words seemed to fail him.

Quinn stepped back away from the younger one once the hugging was done. He nodded his head slightly, the corners of his lips twitching into a semblance of a smile. He then looked to the apple he'd been given. She'd always loved apples; he remembered that much. "Forgetting...." he muttered, frowning slightly as his brow furrowed in frustration.

The purple haired teen was running around the carnival, doing her best to resist the lure of carnival food and games. She was here to find someone, not enjoy herself! "Mom's so going to be mad if I don't find him...." Jaella murmurered to herself as she looked around for the little wander-offer. Usually, Quin didn't even want to leave the house! So what would make him wander off so far away? Oh, she hoped he was......ooh, nachos!

Quinn just shook his head silently, looking down at his shoes. He nibbled at the apple he'd been given, seeming to draw further into himself. He answered the girl with only a small nod, moving to follow her. "Thank you." he murmured quietly, his voice barely audible above the hum of the crowd.

Jaella grinned, eyes wide and excited as she ordered her nachos. "I want cheese and chives and turkey ground and cheesy Cheetos on my nachos!" she chirped to the oh-so-enthused vendor. "Oooh, and I want some cotton candy too, please!" Yep, finding Quinn had been forgotten. Now was nums time!
