The itch. The damnable itch.

Two weeks, this time. Two weeks he'd been sure that his immediate ascent into demi-godhood had finally rid him of the curse. But it seems it wasn't broken just yet; he awoke, itching, craving, and irritable.

Goddammit.

He felt Guan Yin's sadness wash gently over his mind, dissolving his anger. She couldn't heal something inflicted by another Godling, not completely; and, unfortunately, Seamus' own powers could not be applied to himself. As much as she wished for it.

It's okay, he sighed, sitting up and feeling the old dizziness ring around his ears. I understand.

But this would be tricky. Vale and Quinn were still very much so in touch, and Seamus was not yet ready to let Valeriu know about this.

He'd have to figure it out when it came down to that. Pulling on his boots, he shunned his jacket for the day; it was hot enough already, and for once he preferred the simple t-shirt to any sort of layered combination. It made him look entirely too much like Murphy, strangely enough, with his bed hair sticking up every which way.

Getting to Quinn's without detection was a whole 'nother story. He couldn't use the frontdoor, because Kitty was always watching, so he strolled around the back, squeezing in between the two buildings with little room to spare, and reached up to rap smartly on one of the covered windows. For emphasis, he knocked again, and then banged a fist against it for good measure.

Quinn heard the rap on the window and frowned. He glanced at the clock. Right on time. Seamus wasn't even using the front door anymore? He must really be hiding something from Vale. He got up from his bed where he was napping and walked to the door, opening it and grabbing Seamus to help pull him in, haphazardly tossing him out of the way and slamming the window.

"I have a door, Seamus. I get that you're a redhead, but at least pretend like you're human occasionally, okay?" He smirked, and rested his hands on his hips. "Why the window? Avoiding Vale?"

He was going to be nosy, and he was going to make sure there was nothing Seamus could do about it.

"Oh, ******** you." He picked himself up off the floor, rubbing his scuffed knees and giving Quinn the finger. "Freckles do not make a bloke ginger, for the love of-"

Two things were readily apparent about Seamus. Three, if you were a Godling. The first, and most obvious, being that the twenty-seven year old male suddenly looked half a decade younger. The second being that the scars, supposedly fresh on his face, had already halfway healed over.

The third being that special wavelength that all too easily screamed blessed to any passing Player.

"I dunno," he drawled, crossing his arms spitefully. "You s'pose I am? Now why-ever would I be doin' that?"

"Oh, sorry. Sometimes I forget you aren't a ginger, since my brain just automatically tints your area red when I look at you." He shrugged, and finally got a good look at Seamus in front of him. And frowned.

"You look like you're twelve years old."

He frowned deeper.

"That's not okay."

His frown reached previously inaccessible reaches of disapproval. Then realization dawned.

"Oh my god. Now you're one too? Damn it!" He threw his arms up in the air. "Yeah, okay, I hate you too, fate. Thanks. Thanks for this. Because things aren't allowed to be even sort of easy for little old Quinn, nope! Good job. A plus grand scheme, powers that be!" He called out to the heavens, rolling his eyes and groaning, before walking over to his bed and collapsing on top of it, curling up with his face to the wall and his back towards everything else.

"I hate my life."

"Twenty-two, thanks," he groused, stalking over to glare down at the angsting Quinn.

"Knock it off." He knocked the bed with his foot, stuffing his hands into his pockets in annoyance. "I don't have a bloody clue what'cher talkin' about. I should be the one cursin' the heavens, 'cause getting a goddess did not mean I was free of your accursed mark. Quit bein' such a princess, powderpuff."

Seamus felt justified in asserting that he was the one worse off in this situation.

"An' you better not tell Vale. You do, and I will shovel you in the face, again. I'm waitin' for the right moment, and god knows I do not need you to spill the beans too soon and send Kitty on a rampage."

Quinn rolled over and glared at Seamus. "I'm trying to hate my life right now, will you please let me do it in peace?" He gave up before the sentence was even over, sat up cross-legged and made a pouty face with his eyes staring at the floor.

"Everything just has to get super complicated, doesn't it? What are your powers?" He finally asked, monotonically. "Do you blow things up with your brain? Are you able to eat anything and spew it back out as a dangerous projectile?" He raised his eyes up to Seamus slowly, like they were rolling through molasses.

"I'm not a princess. b***h." He put his forehead on his palms.

"Fine, as long as you promise you'll tell him eventually."

"The power of ******** You," Seamus deadpanned. He scoffed, standing idly while Quinn melo-angsted.

For a minute, he debated whether or not he wanted to tell Quinn. He could keep it a secret, just to be a b***h, but Seamus didn't often do things just to be a b***h.

"Healing," he grumbled. "And some sorta foresight. And hindsight. And now-sight, really. Kinda throws me off."

Yes. Stopping in mid-stride as you're seized by a vision, eyes glowing with an unnatural holy blue light that scares away passers-by, that sort of thing can throw a man off.

"Haven't really used it yet, though. 'Cept to try it on myself, but that didn't work."

He wandered over to stand in front of Quinn, sticking his arm out bluntly with an expectant look.

"I'll tell 'im soon. Now, though, chop chop, ya little blood-sucker."

At least he wasn't trying to completely avoid the inevitable anymore.

"So you just sort of see everything? Cool."

It wasn't really cool. His powers sounded lame.

"I want to see you heal something!" He brought his own arm up and bit it hard enough to make it bleed a little, wincing as he caused his own pain. He held his own arm out in a similar fashion.

"You heal this, first!" He waved the arm around a little bit for good measure. "I want to see it work!"

"No. I see when things happen." His hand fidgeted as he tried to figure out a way to explain to the slower man before him. Tried to remind himself that, yes, Quinn was a small child, with a small child's brain, and that should be taken into account. "Remember that girl that got killed a while back? All in the newspapers? Animal attack or whatever they called it? I walked by that alley, and got treated to a picture show of the whole thing."

Fun times.

"Though other times it's just stuff that hasn't happened yet, which is a helluva problem for my brain."

Even funner.

He gave the bite mark on Quinn's arm a flat look, pushing it away from him.

"Hey, here's a good idea - a bandaid. Not your dancin' monkey."

"But you said you've never tried it! You have to start somewhere!" He waved his arm back towards Seamus. "Pleeeease?"

He frowned. "Yeah, I remember that. You saw it? That sounds kinda terrible. Oh, well." He shrugged, and kept his hand held out to Seamus.

"What kind of things in the future have you seen? Anything about me?"

He pushed the arm away again, disgruntled.

"And if I screw up and leave you permanently disfigured-" He paused, then picked up the arm far more cheerily. "Sure, then! The Doctor is in!"

He could tell Guan Yin was not so approving of his motives, and it made his smile all the more wicked as he took a seat on the bed, legs crossed to mimic Quinn's posture. His brow scrunched in concentration, though the few lines of age that had once been present had quickly been smoothed out after his regained youth.

"Not a walk in the park, but I figured it came with the territory. She told me I could one day use it to help people," he added, distractedly, trying to recall the exact state of mind he needed to be in to heal the cut.

"Yeah." Gradually, the air around his hands changed as one gripped Quinn's wrist to hold him still, and the other hovered scant centimeters above the wound. First a warmth, then a tingle, quickly turning cool and refreshing as a holy blue glow radiated outwards. "Oh yeah, it was terribly bloody, mate. Gore, everywhere. Like a friggin' trainwreck. And Vale, standin' there with his broom all covered in brain matter, over your mangled corpse, after he realizes the things ya do to me," he snipped, though his head was bowed and his eyes were focused on the cut, which slowly scabbed and healed over, fresh and pink.

"Not a good end for you, dandy. Not a good end at all."

Quinn stared in wonderment as Seamus healed up the bite, and a silly grin spread over his face. "Gross!" He exclaimed, and brought his arm up to inspect it. "That was insane. Like watching it get hurt backwards." He laughed, and poked at the spot where it had been. Then he paled a little bit.

"You're kidding, right? You're totally kidding. That's a joke." He nodded firmly, though it didn't sound very sincere.

"I mean, you wouldn't let Vale kill me. Because then...what would you do? Nothing. You couldn't do anything. You'd be miserable." Another firm nod.

Seamus looked up, the same subtle blue glow washing out the whites and grey-blues of his eyes before it faded seconds later. His mouth was set in a solemn, regretful line, eyebrows drawn together just so as he tenderly patted Quinn on the hand.

"Better write your will now, deadman. Who knows how soon my visions come true?" He clucked his tongue in sympathy, moving to stand up from the bed.

"It was nice- oh wait, no, okay, not so nice knowing you."

He managed to keep the solemn look on his face for a minute later before breaking out into laughter.

"Gullible," he wheezed, wiping a tear from his eye. "So gullible. God, kids."

Quinn looked incredibly, superbly stressed out until Seamus gave up the joke and started laughing. He frowned.

"That wasn't nice." That didn't sound quite strong enough.

"That wasn't nice at all." Better.

"Meanieface." Perfect.

"Just for that, maybe I just shouldn't bite you." He crossed his arms and spun around on his tailbone, facing away from Seamus on the bed to pout.

"Then maybe I shouldn't tell Vale that you're a real-ly, superb-ly nice guy," Seamus countered, tongue rolling the words in a thick layer of sarcasm, dipped in sugar, and tied up with a bow.

"Maybe-" He leaned against the door jamb, smiling innocently. "Maybe I should tell him the whole truth and nothing but the truth. About how you blackmailed me, locked me in your bedroom for the past ten days that I have been missing from sight, and had your wicked way with me."

He hummed.

"I can cry on cue," he added.

"Then we'll see what your real chances are, eh, boyo?"
