Vinny... She had heard the name before and earlier she had somehow managed to confirm that the boy was a friend of Cody's. From their brief conversation, she learned that he was similar to Aludra in personality. Yet that meant very little in the area of melee as everyone had their own strengths, weaknesses, and skills.
Which was why she hadn't really set up much. At least the weather had cooled down and threatened rain to give her a bit of a break.

A melee class? Vincent hadn't been looking forward to having another one. The last time he had gotten into a fight, he had definately come out worse off. Meaning he had been beat up by a girl. Oh well; maybe this teacher would help him improve. Maybe by the end of the class, girls wouldn't be able to knock him out. Maybe by the end of the class, he would be able to protect what was rightfully his.
"Ms. Ary?" The teenager walked into the classroom. "I'm here for my class, I guess." If only Vinny had known; his strength when it came to fighting was stealth.

“Just call me Ary. Any name you want to be known by, kid?” Ary asked as she crossed her arms and faced him. She figured she was at least a foot taller than he was, and thus towered over the poor kid. “Just so you know, bruises, cuts, and the like are very common in my classroom. Don’t like it? Then I’d suggest leaving now. If you choose to stay, however...” the female trailed off, a dark gleam in her eye. Ah, it felt good to no longer have the wrath of the sun and heat beating at her from all sides. Now she could relax and be herself for once.
Which meant Vinny was probably in for the beating of his life if she could keep her current attitude up. By the ancient gods above, she severely hoped she didn’t do something stupid while in such a mood. She’d have to switch dimensions again, just like last time...

"Okay, Ary. My name's Vinny," Vinny said with a shrug. The teacher seemed different than the others he had met. Strange, she was an awful lot taller than he was--of course, he wasn't exactly the tallest guy in the world. "Wait," his eyebrow went up, and he frowned at her. "You're going to beat me up? Mom didn't tell me that. She's a teacher here too." Did his mother beat people up, too? Somehow, he didn't think she did. It wasn't her style.
"I won't leave, but--I've never really fought before," he said. "Do we have to fight? Can't you just teach me moves or something?"

Ary sighed and ran her fingers through her hair. "I'm not going to beat you up just out of the blue. I teach via actively doing it. Magic teachers teach magic by making you actively practice it, and skills teachers don't just tell you how to do something so why should I? You'll never survive if you just learn the moves," she replied slowly, explaining this as well as she could.
"I don't actively go out of my way to hurt you, but people do stupid things and things have gotten out of control in some of my other classes. I set up situations, you perform the move you think would be appropriate, and I react based on whether or not what you thought was correct, is correct. You do something wrong, it'll hurt and eventually you'll get it right," she continued, stretching out her arms for a moment.
"So, we are fighting and then again we're not. You can be walking outside and get hurt, as would sitting on the couch. You're just far more likely here to get injured than at your house is all. And more seriously but hey, you won't die... Hopefully. Besides, I can teach you defensive moves instead of offensive ones," she added on thoughtfully. Yeah, more like BORING a** MOVES that a monkey could do. A half-dead monkey sleeping or in a coma.

Vincent looked doubtful before he nodded in vague agreement with Ary. "I suppose," he said with a shrug. "I'm not very good at it, so don't expect me to be. I know from experience that I'm not--I mean, I've had girls beat me up before and give me concussions." Okay, maybe it was a sexist remark, but Vinny knew he'd never be able to beat a girl in a fight. Girls weren't supposed to fight--he hoped his girlfriend didn't; he didn't want to get beat by her too.
He paused, and nodded. "I'll try some moves," he decided with a shrug. What harm could it be? Besides, what if he got good at it? Then he would be able to protect his Lissy; she was more important than any treasure. Even if he got hurt in the process of learning, it'd be worth it.

Ary just stared at him for a long moment. So, he had terrible experience with fighting girls... That was one of the most amusing things she had ever heard. "And I've had one of my students nearly throw me across the room. Just... Stay away from the wrath kids," she replied, remembering that day rather well for happening do long ago. It was pointless advice, but she felt it was necessary anyways.
"Alright, so, would you rather learn something defensive or offensive? I can teach you how to fist fight or defend yourself or that of another," she continued, pausing for a moment. "Or we can go into something a little more intricate and complex. You won't be able to get everything perfect in a day, but you would know the basics."

"Oh, I'd never anger a wrath kid," Vincent said with some awe. Wrath kids were entirely too frightening. Unless they were having a good day, in which case he could approach them and attempt being friendly.
The greed spawn thought about it. Being selfish in nature, he also tended to be greedy when it came to gaining intelligence. "I'll try something more complex," he decided. "I know how to fist fight." Believe it or not, he did. He didn't believe in fighting as a general rule, being a pacifist, but he had had his bouts with his brothers. "You decide, then. You're the teacher."

"Oh? It's quite fun and rather simple once you find what really sets them off. Then again, I can handle their wrath and someone like you would be trampled and food for the rats within moments," Ary smirked at the thought. Well, more someone getting beaten into a pulp and the fun of riling someone up than him specifically enduring that. Sides, he didn't seem the type to do such a thing.
"Intricate it is, then. Sword fighting perhaps? Or maybe something more geared towards performances than actual fights? No... you don't fit the type. Too... Squeamish and weak willed," she muttered, thinking. Vinny was definitely a difficult case to solve when it came down to intricate things that wouldn't kill him trying to do.

"I don't like making people angry," Vincent muttered, looking down at his feet. Making people angry led to fights, and fights led to broken friendships. He paused, brightening at the mere mention of sword fighting. Now that was something he could relate to, something he was familar with.
"I can fence," he supplied with a smile. "I'm not as good as my brother or my uncle, but I don't get hurt as often," he self-conciously picked at his skin. "Natural armor," he said with a shrug.

Ary nearly cheered as she finally encountered a student that had some idea as to how to use a sword. Nearly. "Really now? You know how to fence? Want to learn some more or would you rather we tried something else?" she asked, knowing the natural armor thing was a trait she often saw in greed children, Cody excluded thank god. It would have been much more difficult putting him in his place if violence was lost on him.
Then again, more of her stuff would be missing too...
