Laced in an ebony veil of night, Kodo knew not the treacherous ways of the Rockets nor the righteous ways of the authorities who battle against those who are not that of good. Peaceful was this night, which was quite out of the ordinary considering TRHQ was filled with some of the oddest colored crayons to be within a box. Mister Sorano Izaak Dinkly was fully awake this night, having his rather faithful Shuppet, Horatio, manually flip pages for him as he shined a flashlight into the book. Pietro was asleep in the closet, not likely to show his face until late into next day's afternoon.

Sighing, Sorano rolled over. Horatio withdrew himself from the book and bent himself over Sorano. Tilting his head, he muttered a small, "Shup?" in curiosity at his owner.

"All these books be borin'." complained Sorano in an almost mute whisper. "Why dun' ya go an' get somethin' from the library an' brin' it back to read?"

Horatio was not too keen of the idea of wandering through the walls of the base in the darkness. But when Sorano gave him the "do-what-I-say-now-or-there-will-be-consequences" look, the Shuppet immediately shot itself through the wall. There, the Shuppet wandered. He had no idea where in the bloody world the library was located. Even if he did know, he'd never be able to see in the dark. It was surely too dark . . . and just about anything could occur.

For whatever reason, Lilith could not sleep. Her mind had been plagued with thoughts of her personal mission and it was almost driving her to the breaking point. She sat with her chin in her hands on her bed while Serafina illuminated the room with her burning tail. She thought to herself silently as she played music from her portable music player. She could recall to the second the time when she first traveled to the Tin Tower in her hometown of Ecruteak City with her mother. The heart pounding anticipation, the view of the mysterious and beautiful Tower... The vision played over and over in the woman's head. She needed something to do. She needed a book.

The woman glanced over at Serafina, who was busying herself with a super bouncy ball that her trainer bought for her a short while before. "Hey, Sera, wanna go and look for a good book for me?" The Charmander looked to her trainer lazily and nodded in compliance.

The Lizard Pokemon wandered out of the woman's room and made her way down the hallway, looking for the library. After searching through multiple corridors and one time accidentally finding herself in the bathroom, she determined that she was most definitely lost. She spit out a small blob of fire in her annoyance and started down a new corridor.

As she started forward somewhat apprehensively, she bumped into something unfamiliar and staggered back. In front of her was a rather lost looking Shuppet. The Charmander expelled a sigh of relief and smiled at the Shuppet. "Char!"

"Shup!"

Horatio immediately panicked. Who is the world was this creature and why did they suddenly appear out of no where? They must be a ghost, they must be! Since he was a ghost himself (which was quite ironic), Horatio disappeared into a nearby wall and surfaced to another sect of corridors. He sighed at this. Not only did he get himself more lost but there was now a ghost on his tail. Great! Just what he needed!

At the very next moment, the Shuppet in front of Serafina disappeared. The Charmander puffed out another blob of fire and looked around for the Ghost Pokemon. Why was he so unfriendly? Was he scared of her? Did he think she was... ugly?! Serafina growled at this thought and set off down the hall, searching for that Shuppet that obviously thought she was ugly and ran off!

She skidded around a corner and found herself in a maze of corridors. That Shuppet was a Ghost Pokemon and so most likely could go through walls, but that, to Serafina, was only a minor inconvenience. She would find that Shuppet and demand an apology! She ran about, eyes looking every which-way, when she finally found the Shuppet. She stepped forward to it angrily. "Char! Charmander, char-char!"

"S-S-S-Shuppet!"

Horatio caught his breathe as the ghost Charmander roared with anger. Though she didn't seem to be roaring, Horatio took her angry spouts to be as so. Horatio turned and began to hurriedly float down the corridor to escape the terrible beast. However, he was caught in a dead end with no doors or escape roots. Not even a ventilation shaft!

Horatio shivered and sweat furrowed everywhere. He turned around slowly before darting down onto the floor and bowing. "" he muttered. ""

Serafina was breathing heavily by the time she caught up with the Shuppet, not being used to running so fast. When the Ghost Pokemon escaped again, she growled and sprinted off, finally catching him stuck in a dead end. This was her chance! "Char!" She pointed a finger accusingly at the Shuppet and stepped towards it.

As she stepped forward, the Shuppet turned around and fell on the floor in a sort of bow. The Charmander raised an eyebrow. Such peculiar behavior for a Ghost Pokemon... Then she remembered her anger and took a step closer to the Shuppet. ["I'm not gonna hurt you, so calm down. All I want to know is why you ran away."] While she spoke, her hands clasped int fists and she swished her tail angrily. ["And if you say it's because you thought I was ugly, you'll be in for a world of hurt, kid."]

Horatio blinked. Ugly? He would never defile another fellow Pokemon, never! Even if they were a ghost!

"" he commented with earnest, nodding his head. ""

Okay, so, Horatio was talking with a ghost. Nothing out of the usual right? Most ghosts exist to torment the heck out of an individual, but this one was quite mundane. Nothing too frightening right? Right? Right?

It was Serafina's turn to blink. So... He didn't think that she was ugly? The Charmander stared somewhat blankly into the distance. Finally, after a few moments, the message hit home. Her eyes opened wide and she bounced on her toes in her excitement. He didn't think she was ugly! Which in turn meant that she was pretty! Sera blushed slightly and swished her tail back and forth happily.

Her reaction to the Shuppet's remark of her being a ghost was delayed. She stopped in mid-bounce and looked towards the Shuppet curiously. After a second, she started to laugh. ["You thought I was a ghost? That's so silly!"] Serafina continued chuckling and she smiled at the Shuppet. ["I'm just a regular Charmander. I gotta say, you're one of the most... interesting Shuppet's I've ever met. ...Of course, I've never met any before, but you are really interesting!"] She smiled kindly. ["My name is Serafina. What's yours?"]

"" spoke Horatio after watching the Charmander yip around for some reason or another.

"" He paused for a moment to swish around his himself. ""

Though, Horatio still pondered this. Interesting, hmm? The works of William S., Lewis Carroll . . . were interesting. Was he as interesting as a young girl falling down a Buneary hole or two star-crossed lovers meeting their end in death? Horatio blushed at this, was he truly as interesting? As interesting as a great piece of written literature? Oh goodness!

The Charmander giggled. ["Yeah! Interesting! I mean, you're a Ghost Pokemon, but you're afraid of ghosts? That's so weird!"] She smiled at the swishing Shuppet. ["I'm not trying to be rude or nothing. Just sayin'."] She giggled a little more. This Shuppet was so interesting! Did he belong to one of the agents here? If so, why hadn't she seen him around before? Mysteries upon mysteries were weighing on the Charmander.

Serafina looked at the starstruck Shuppet and smiled kindly. ["Oh hey, what's your name? Does your trainer work here? Mine does! My name is Serafina, by the way!"] The Charmander swished her tail from side to side happily. This Shuppet was so interesting!

The edge of the Shuppet's entire being swished playfully about like a ballroom gown in dance. He truly . . . truly was interesting! To him, being compared to a piece of literature was the highest comment to be given. It was like giving a mouse a cookie. Mmm, cookies.

Though he remained a little dejected upon the irony of him being a ghost and being afraid of ghosts, he gave a quaint bow with the best of his ability (it seemed more like a stage nod . . . he'd no arms or legs to mimic the true gesture).

"" he said. ""
