It was late in the evening and Aminah was, well, wandering about. She had no where particular to be, nothing she was interested in seeing at present, and hadn't seen much site of life besides the remnants of kills by the occasional roving pack of hyenas (which had served as free meals since no one else seemed to be after them). The female hadn't run across anyone since the day she'd met that shy lioness and her ibex companion, and those had been the first other creatures she'd seen alive since leaving home.

The lioness liked freedom but it was...well, kind of lonely. Aminah hadn't had much company after Nquma had gone, which was sad. She'd liked the other female, despite her shyness, and the little ibex had been a sweetie too. But she really needed to start looking for a new home soon.

User ImageIt was with the utmost grace and attention to detail that Rama bent his massive jet-black wings and descended from the clouds. He quietly admired how the silver moonlight shimmered off his perfectly preened feathers and highlighted the strong structures in all the right places. His paws stretched for the earth in one easy motion, claws sliding from their protective sheaths to catch the ground beneath him. He ran as he hit the ground and slowed himself to a graceful and proud stop. The perfect of perfection. A landing he'd refined since cubhood.

He tossed his mane back from his eyes and brought a paw up to brush it back into place. It was, perhaps, the only disadvantage to flight- it always unsettled his hours of hard grooming, leaving him looking as if he'd fallen asleep during a windstorm.

The white female stopped, blinking as she watched a...rather prissy male land before her. She watched the younger male intently, walking over to get a better look at him. Well, it was company at the very least - very winged company that seemed quite interested in looking pretty for being in the middle of no where, but company none the less.

"Hello there."

He concealed the surprise that jolted through him as a voice piped in. In all honesty, he always behaved as if the world was watching him. In his mind, it was. Why wouldn't it? Like his mother he lit up the sky with his brilliance! Like his father he was imposing and awe-inspiring. Their son had exceeded them both, the world was now his audience.

With practiced ease, the male turned his head, blue eyes catching the moonlight as his maw tugged back into an easy smile. The female before him was quite lovely. She had a good figure, a nice pelt, and an inviting set of eyes.

"Why hello. Lovely night, is it not? Don't thank me. Please, you'll make me flush."

Aminah stared at him for a moment, blinking a bit. Whaaaaat? Thank him for what exactly? She shrugged a bit and composed herself, deciding not to bother questioning why she would thank him considering that'd just result in him either getting offended or saying something else that'd make her brain hurt a little.

"Yes, quite lovely. Where might you be bound?"

He raised a brow at her confusion. Glancing to either side of him, and finding nothing, he affirmed in his own mind that she simply must be awestruck. Composing himself once more, he took a few easy steps forward.

"Oh anywhere I feel I am needed. Tell me, are you lonely tonight?" He asked sweetly, his tone as smooth as silk. Of course, he'd not yet learned tact, perhaps in a year or...seven.

"Um, yes, you could say that." Aminah admitted with a nod. "I've been traveling for a while and haven't had anyone to talk to in a few days."

Well, he seemed interesting enough, though she was still trying to reason out just why he had wings. She'd never met a lion with wings and the pride she'd grown up with hadn't been very religious. After a few moments, the lioness decided it wouldn't hurt to ask just the same - he'd probably love talking about himself. "So, might I ask how a lion ends up gaining wings?"

"Oh so sad... a lonely lady as lovely as yourself. It's a very big world, no? Some travel a lifetime without finding what they truly desire, you are fortunate." He flashed her a wide, toothy smile and took a few more steps forward.

"Perhaps we can keep eachother company this night?"

"I'm sure, it does get hard to find exactly what one wants when everyone else is looking for it too." she commented with a nod. The flourishes to his words were cute, in a way, so they could be tolerated Aminah supposed.

"Certainly." the lioness agreed, flicking her tail lightly as she walked around to stand by him a bit.

It was about then that she noticed something. "You didn't answer my question." That was strange - for a creature that liked talking about himself and his own virtues, he'd completely ignored an opening to talk about his awe inspiring roots.

Rama laughed again. So he had neglected her question! Of course, gaining the company of a pretty young lady, even if she didn't seem all that eager to spend the night complementing and fawning over him, was nice as well.

He stretched out his wings and threw his chest out, giving him the appearance of a much larger, much more intimidating creature. "While it's not true of us all, these wings are the mark of a god! A powerful lord of this land! Yes, you are in the presence of one of the divine!" He waited a moment for effect, then added on, "In fact... you are in the presence of the most divine of them all. Please, don't feel frightened."

"Oh. Um....nice to meet you." she said politely, bowing a little before standing up once more and cocking her head to the side. Gods? She hadn't heard about those before - well, vaguely when people invoked them in fear, but never by name and she'd certainly never met one before. "What's it like?"
PostPosted: Tue May 11, 2010 2:17 pm

"What's it like?" He echoed, his brows knotting as he tipped his head to one side. That was a strange question to ask... he'd never really thought about what being a god was like, of course he'd never had any reason to. He simply was, he didn't know how to compare it to anything else. He'd only ever been a god. Of course, the question could have been directed towards a lot of things.

"What's... it like to fly? What's it like to be me? To live for so long? You have to narrow your questions down a bit."

"Oh. Sorry." she laughed a little, nodding, "I meant what's it like to be a god? I've never really heard much about them or met one before, so I have no idea. Though, you've probably never been....erm, not a god, so that might be awkward." He was cute when he was confused, rather than boasting. His company might be a bit more than tolerable after all.
PostPosted: Tue May 11, 2010 2:24 pm

"Oh well... that is difficult." He sat himself down and rolled his eyes upwards, as if he expected to find the answer in the sky somewhere. How did he explain what it was like to be him? He was a god, simple as that.

"Well... it's like asking how it's like to be a mortal. I can answer what it's like to have... things that are different from you. For instance, flight. I adore it. I can fly high above all the lands and know that those below me are looking up in complete adoration. Even the birds are jealous of me!"

"Oh. Well then. There you go." Aminah agreed, accepting that as an answer and stretching out by the other. Here was as good a place to lie down as any, right? "Are there lots of other gods?"

Her tail flicked out a bit, mostly in a relaxed and playful manner, tickling Rama a bit. They were having good conversation and relaxing, so it seemed only logical to try and play a bit - there was no harm to it, and it might ease him up after the questions on godhood.
