It was the wee hours of the morning. Shortly after midnight maybe. Little Vance had crawled out of his new bed and managed to get out of his bedroom. He suddenly had decided he was hungry, and sleep was no longer important. Sleep was boring.
The little toddler made his way to the very big and tall fridge in the kitchen. Daddy was asleep, and all the way upstairs, so he'd just have to help himself!
The little guy pried at the edges of the fridge door with his little fingers, trying to open the large door. Might be easier of his little footie pajamas didn't have mitts on it.
Little did the boy know, he would soon have unexpected 'company'.

It was late at night and the two girl strolled the streets under the starry sky. Their tummies had grumbled and Wei suggested they get a midnight snack (though neither one of them had a concept of time). They were walking past a huge house, and decided that that was where they were gonna pillage a meal.
Bug whined and stamped her foot, until Wei let her try to pick the lock. It was hard she knew sort of what to do Wei always told her she had to listen for the clicks. After a bit of fumbling, and Wei getting more and more irritated at Bug's slow work the lock made 'pop' and Bug's eye's lite up as she grabbed the door handle.
The two peeked around the edge of the door checking for a coast clear when they were certain no one was gonna chase after them the slipped inside.
They both looked around at the space it was HUGE, they both mouthed the words 'WOW' at each other because they knew that had to be quiet at night for some reason. Slipping past the various rooms, and occasionally pocketing some small items they came to the kitchen where at green clothed boy was trying his best to get into the fridge.
Bug gripped onto Wei tightly, she'd never come into someone else's home at night while someone was awake, Wei had told her that sometimes people are up, and they tend to be violent. Bug was terrified of the boy.
Wei's shoulders sagged it was just a kid who looked younger than Bug, she whispered "hey kid let me get that door for you and I'll make us all snacks from whatever treats are inside."
Bug was amazed that Wei wasn't afraid, she loosened her grip a bit and nodded to Wei's suggestion to her make them food.

Vance looked over, hearing someone talk to him. It was kind of dark, but it definitely didn't look or sound like Donovan. It was girls. One of them looked a lot older than him. He stared at them for a moment.
He smiled and giggled a bit, stepping away from the fridge. He was certainly lucky, right? "Kay."
Unfortunately for Donovan, his toddler was poor at being a security system. He didn't understand the concept that their house belonged only to them, and that these trespassers were not welcome. To him, it was a chance at food.

Wei shifted over, pulling her extra weight with her past the small boy. Wei opened the fridge and Bug was too stunned by the amount of food to move.
Bug just stood there and watched Wei dive into the fridge, she knocked over a milk carton as she pulled out foods Bug had never tasted before.
When Wei was done in the fridge she spilled all the food onto the kitchen counter and began looking through the drawers and cabinets.
She pulled out things and looked at them, never once closing anything back up, whenever she did find something she'd bring it over to the counter.
Bug slowly left Wei's side and slid into a chair to watch her comrade move about.
Once Wei felt she had everything she needed she began to cut up the foods and piled them onto three plates.
"There, done, time to eat."
Smiling at the green boy Bug nodded and mimicked "time to eat."

Vance looked a bit nervous as Wei made a mess of the kitchen. He was a young child, but one thing always stuck in his mind about his dad, and that was that he hated a mess. 'Clean that up' was always repeated in the house. Was this Wei girl...bad? But she was making food right?
Vance made his way to the table, climbing up the chair to try and sit down. Usually Donovan helped him up, so this was a bit of a challenge. He struggled, but eventually got himself up, kneeling on the chair and holding onto the table. "Time to eat.." He repeated with a smile. This was fun! This food looked weird.
Vance started eating some of his share, staring at the girls. "Who you?" He asked them, belatedly.

Bug was in the middle of eating some meat that she got to taste for the first time, she liked it, and didn't want to answer the boy, so she let Wei do the talking.
Wei smiled widely and answered "We're friends. I'm Wei, and she's Bug, it's nice to meet you, what's your name?"
Every once in awhile Wei had come across little kids who'd escaped their rooms at night for food, she knew the best way to handle them was to be calm, and to do anything that wouldn't provoke them from getting their parents.

Friends? They were friends? How wonderful to have sudden friends from nowhere! "Bug?" He asked in a very surprised way. "But you is a girl. I eat bugs. You too big to eat." Logic dictates that her name made no sense!
Oh they wanted to know his name too..
"Vance." He said proudly, swaying side to side as he ate another mouthful of food. He was getting his pajamas messy, but he really didn't care. What does a toddler care about personal hygiene? It wasn't important. Donovan seemed to clean a lot, and his pajamas always got magically clean when he took off with them to the room that makes loud noises.

Bug was surprised that there was someone else beside Wei and her that eats bugs " You it bugs too! I used to not like them very much, but now they're okay, I really like worms though." Bug felt like she could warm up to this boy, he ate bugs, that made him one of them.
Wei's eye's widened when Bug started talking on her own accord, she liked that, it was good she could talk to someone without having her say something first. Wei sat quietly studying the two.

Vance giggled happily when Bug got excited over the conversation, wiggling a bit. "Worms go all wriggly in my mouth. It funny!" Donovan always acted so silly when Vance ate bugs, acting all uppity and grossed out. Adults had silly ideas about 'proper food', and that they had perfectly good snacks inside. Silly daddy.
"I go in the garden, and play in the dirt and gets messy, and then bugs fly around and I catch them with my tongue." He babbled on with his new friend, having a delightful conversation about the bug eating ways of theirs.

Bug giggled " I love it when they do that, especially when when the try to escape my mouth, that's when I bite them in two and then I have TWO wriggly things to swallow!" When Bug started getting louder Wei shifted uneasily in her chair and told Bug to be quieter with a 'shhh'. It was good she was enjoying herself and if this boy liked them it meant they could come back again for another meal.
Bug snickered and giggled some more when Wei shhed at her, she knew she had to be quieter but she couldn't help but giggle more when Vance started talking about how he caught bugs "With your tongue? How do you do that?" Bug stuck out and stretched her tongue trying to figure out how someone could catch a bug with one.

Vance really liked this girl. She was so cool! Vance definitely would show off his 'talent' for her. The boy looked down at his plate, selecting one thing he would eat, then whipped out his tongue, grabbing it and returning it into his mouth. A frog tongue was awfully fun, and he didn't get to show it off much. Apparently it freaked out his dad.
He swallowed his food and smiled. "See?" He could grab food from long distances, hands free.

Both Bug and Wei lurched forward in surprised and amazement they shouted "Do it again!" Perfectly in sync the clasped there hands over their mouths and started to giggle.
Bug thought what Vance did was the most coolest thing anyone could do with their body, and wondered what other things the boy could do.
Wei was couldn't believe someone had a tongue like that either, "Are you like a frog person or something? Can you do other things?" She asked with a bold wonder.

Vance was overwhelmed and so happy to see these girls enjoy his quirk so much. He smiled and giggled happily, bouncing in place. Again? He looked over at one of their plates, a further distance, and using his tongue, grabbed one of their food items and ate it with a gulp.
"Iunno. I like frogs." Vance answered, in the all knowing way a toddler could. Apparently he could do things like a frog could.
Other things? There was one trick he'd learned once when he was quarreling with his dad. The little boy weaseled out of part of his pajamas, since he needed his hands to be free. The boy then slowly crawled out of the chair he was in, and shuffled his way to a wall. He stayed about a foot away from it and looked up.
In a quick motion, he used his tongue to cling to a high part of the wall, and hoisted himself up, using his hands to stick to the surface when he let go with his tongue.
The boy was sticking to a wall.

Bug blew up her cheeks and puckered her lips, Vance ate the piece of meat she was saving for last, how could he! Wei however noticed Bug's beginning of a tantrum in time and slipped her some more baloney, all was forgotten.
Wei shrugged at Vance's answer, couldn't expect much of one from a toddler anyways.
The two girls watched Vance inquisitively as in squirmed out of his jumper. They watched his motions with excitement, what was this buy gonna do next?
"Holy guacamolly!" Bug shouted in amazement. Wei Quickly clamped Bug's mouth shut after her loud out burst, shhed at her and let Bug free.
Bug was believed Vance was the coolest, next to Wei of course. Bug had a spurt of jealously too, how come she couldn't do anything cool like sticking to walls like Vance it wasn't fair. Bug pursed her lips in frustration.
With Bug on the verge of yet another burst, Wei commented "That's really quite the talent you have Vance, I'm sure one day Bug'll be able to fly up there with you."
Bug gasped and looked at Wei, me fly? she thought to herself.

Vance giggled, still clinging to the wall, and maneuvering around so he could see the girls down below. He was happy to be getting a positive reaction from his 'talent'. His dad always became rater cross when Vance did this, mostly because he usually did it during a tantrum. If it were up to him, he would climb walls more often. Actually, the toddler loved doing this in his room, since Donovan explained he could do anything he wanted in his bedroom, but nowhere else.
Anything.
Therefore, there was a lot of horsing around done in his bedroom; leaving toys out, dirtying the walls etc.
"Flying bug? Bug can fly?" He asked while sliding down the wall and landed with his feet on the ground. He regarded the girl while slipping his jumper back on properly. It became clear that the young girl did in fact have wings. How had he not noticed this? "Feathers? Why is Bug called a bug?" It seemed strange that a girl with bird wings was called bug. He didn't think to question it till now.
