Yes I'm putting another story up. This one is far more recent, with a name that took less than 3 years to figure out! I started it about 3 months ago....? I'm not actually that sure.

The basic summary...

A young girl from England had run away from home one night, over a hundred years ago, and disappeared. Now, present day, in a small town outside of Sacramento, California, Willow has resurfaced as something not human. Thanks to the help of some new friends, she'll get her life back together and move on from her dreadful past. But to get her life back, she'll learn to put lies and mistrusts behind her. As well as the history she has with a Vampire fugitive that kept her hidden and gave her reasons to fear her life.

I literally just threw this together. I'll probably change it, later.

There aren't really profiles for the characters in this one. These were mostly made up on the spot. But maybe I can make up a few profiles on the spot.

Eliza Marie Devour A.K.A Willow Devour- A 17-18 year old girl that ran away and disappeared. She's very sweet, as well as unstable, due to her hideous history with a vampire Fugitive. It doesn't take much for her to explode into fits out anger or depression. She's shy and always learning in this new time. She has a hard time with being a vampire and everything that comes with it. She'll put herself before others in a heartbeat, if she had one.

Domaul... (I never thought of a last name for him.) A.K.A. Dom- Dom is different. He's got to be two different people when dealing with someone with Willow. He's got to be the kind, understanding guy and the hard-a** jerk that she can't stand. He's very difficult to deal with sometimes and he knows it. He mostly does his own thing and hates rules, though he's adjusting. He doesn't like being told he's wrong but it happens to all of us...

Regina Morrone
A.K.A Gina Morrow- Gina is the boss. She knows how to take control and keeps Dom in line quite often. But being in control doesn't mean she can't have fun. On the contrary, she's the club prowler of the city, always knowing where a party's rocking. She helps Willow fit into her new skin quite easily, showing her what fun is and how to have it.

Devan Volari- Devan is Bad. Really, really bad. There is no history behind him. And that's about all there is to it. Oh, he's a great actor.

My rules.

-All Guild Rules apply in here. I shouldn't have to say this.
- NO Bashing, insults or rude comments of any kind. None of the "This is an awful story. Just delete it all" stuff. I will personally take offense to anything of the sort, considering I've been writing this for years.
-I like constructive criticism. 3nodding
-I'm out of rules. I'll think of more later.

I don’t remember much from my early days here. All I remember is that innate fear and the yearning to return home. It makes sense, really. The fear, I mean. The cold, nerve clenching, blood chilling fear that shouldn’t be felt in real life. It should only be felt by characters in horror novels or picture shows. I’ve never seen a picture show. But I’d like to.

My want, in itself, was childish, pointless and empty. I can’t go home, ever. Not that I’d want to but still… a part of me wishes I could go back in time and prevent all this from happening. I’d be the good little girl that mother wanted and marry the one that daddy chose. I wouldn’t have gotten into the argument with them and ran off. Then I wouldn’t have gotten attacked by that blood thirsty monster that changed me into one like him. And I certainly wouldn’t be here, god only knows much later, in a dark moldy basement, chained to a wall with a bracket around my ankle.

Only the one who made me, my sire (he calls himself that. I don’t actually know what it means), and myself have the knowledge of what went on that god forsaken night. And he used it against me any time her could. He mocked me, beat me, diminished my every hope of getting free, and took everything that made me pure.

I had accepted that I was never going to leave. Not even by some strange miracle. At least it was as bad as it could’ve been. He gave me blood and a newspaper when he felt generous. And a mattress to recover better after each “round”.

Every so often, he’d come down and bind my hands, informing me that we were leaving, before gagging me. He’d then gave me one more beating, which usually knocked me out, then wait until nightfall to load me into a small crate to move me. I didn’t know what he used to move me, but it wasn’t normally a smooth journey. No one ever heard or saw anything. Decades of work towards discreet perfection.

---------

A few weeks ago, he came down in a horrible fit and…just seated himself against the wall across from me. He watched me for quite some time before he stood. I waited for the hit, the starting blow. But it didn’t come. He just stood over me, glaring. “It’s all your fault.” He said as he started pacing the length of the room. “They’re after me because of you. Your screaming and carrying on all those years ago put them on my tail.”

“I…I don’t understand.” I said cautiously.

“Of course you don’t. They’ve been tracking me for decades. Somehow, someway, they finally got us.”

“Who?”

“The Vampire Order, obviously.” He sighed. “Sometimes I forget that you know absolutely nothing of your knew life. They keep the rules in check. Only the insanely stupid or naïve break them.” I bite my lip to refrain from asking a question that would surely get me hit. “You’ll remain quiet when they arrive.” He grabbed a handful of my hair and pulled back. “Give them no reason to come down here.” He released and walked back upstairs, locking the door behind him.

I sat in silence, wondering when they were going show up, until I heard the door open and the sound of multiple footsteps echoed from above. I could hear faint mumbling and some part of me hoped, prayed that they could know I was here.
“… Understand your rights, Mr. Volari. You’re under investigation for the kidnapping and sexual abuse of an illegal fledging.” A man’s deep voice said, growing loader as he moved about. “You…be sentenced to death… torture.”

“Please look around. I have nothing to hide.” My “sire” said calmly. I could hear them move around, going further into the house.

“No…”I cried, making no sound. “Hear me… please hear me.” Mystically, the man I heard before walked back in my direction.
“What’s through here?” He called out as he tried to open the locked door that would lead him to me.

“Just the basement. I just moved here and haven’t found the key yet. The last owners must’ve lost it. Pity, I’ve need the storage lately.”

“We need to see what’s down there,” Said a woman with a strict voice. It reminded me far too much of my mother’s voice. The thought made me want to cry.

“I’d love to let you look around…Hell; I’d love to look around, myself. But without the key, I can’t. My apologies.”

The man grunted and stepped away from the door. I bit my lip to keep from crying, my eyes clenched shut, blood from my lip rolled onto my tongue and down my throat. The front door opened and shut seconds later. They were gone.

I was stuck here.

I'll color things so you guys can see when It's Dom's POV and when it's Willow's. Willow is dark red and Dom will be dark blue. Good contrast, I think.

First section, let me know what you think?

I'm more used to passed tense 3rd person roleplaying, so it might take a while for me to get used to this style of posting... But I like it smile Also, do we make our own characters? and if we do what all do you want us to put down...?
PostPosted: Sun Apr 25, 2010 4:52 pm

It's a story, not a role play. Sorry. I'll add that to the name in a sec.

sweatdrop Hope you don't hold it against me.

“He’s defiantly hiding someone. She’s gotta be in there.” Gina fumed; her voice thick with stress. “Damnit, Dom. There’s gotta be something we can do. I could smell her blood everywhere.”

“Thanks for the obvious, but that doesn’t help us. We need to get into that basement.”

“You should’ve ripped the door down. You had the right…’
“I need probable cause to damage private properties…wait a minute. I’ve got an idea.” Slowly, I walked around the property, scanning the foundation for a window into a locked basement, to see what we were up against. Inside, it was dark and fairly empty. The only light was from the moon and barely did anything. But it shone enough for me to see a small figure in the corner. A small, timid looking girl in a tattered dress that looked more like a ghost than anything else. She looked toward the window, her blue eyes wide.

“We have cause now, don’t we?” Gina said from behind me, causing me to jump.

“Get a warrant. We’ve got him this time.

THE NEXT NIGHT

Gina stood, banging on the front door. “Open up, Volari. We’ve got a warrant for your arrest.” No answer. “Open the fricken door!”

“He ran.”

“Kick it down.” I sighed and rolled my eyes. She looked at me, eagerly nodding. I took a step back and kicked. The door shattered, landing with a loud thud on the hardwood floor. Gina stepped in, gun hand, and looked around. “He’s really gone.”

“Check upstairs, none the less. I’ll check the basement.” She nodded and started toward the stairs and I walked to the basement door. The key was in the knob and the door was slightly ajar. I took the safety off my gun and descended the dark, narrow stairs. There was no light; all I had to guide me was my vampire sight.

---------

I could hear the footsteps coming down the stairs. I tried to hide myself behind the few boxes that were left behind. My worst fear had come back. He hadn’t left me to die. I could only hope that he was going to finish me off, here and now.

“Is anyone down here?” A voice called from the base of the stairs. He was fooling with me, I figured; I kept quiet. “I’m here to help you. If you’re here, give me something to help find you.”

My latest wounds still bled, stinging from the way the ground against the cement floor with every breath. I could hear him sniffing the air, trying to pinpoint my location. He started moving, crossing the room. He found me. “Please, no more… I can’t take anymore!” I begged frantically as he stood over me. “Just kill me, please.”

“Whoa, calm down. I’m not going to hurt you. And I defiantly won’t kill you. I’m here to help you.” He said calmly, kneading down beside me. “Can you tell me your name?”

“I… I don’t know…” I whispered. “I can’t remember…” And everything went dark.

---------

“Gina, get the bolt cutters!” I shouted towards the stairs, as I tried to undo the chain around the girl’s ankle.

Gina shot down the stairs and came to a skidding stop next to me, handing the cutters to me. “I can’t believe he left her down here to die. That son of a b***h… how long do you think she’s been here?”

“She can’t remember her own name,” I commented as I cut the chain off above the cuff, “It’s been awhile.”

“Dom… what do you think she’ll do when she wakes up?”

“Help us, hopefully.” I said, handing over the cutters before picking the girl up gently and carrying her upstairs.

“And if she doesn’t?”

I said nothing to her as I walk out to the car and put the girl in the passenger seat. I didn’t have to answer; we both knew what would happen.

The Order would call for her death.

CHAPTER TWO

I awoke in a strange room under a very large blanket. It was night; the moon shone brightly through the window. I sat up slowly, my body screaming in protest. Broken bones, that was my guess. “You’re awake.” Said the man again, who sat by the wall.

“Why am I here?” I asked quietly.

“I need your help. The Vampire Order needs your help. And we can help you in return.”

“I don’t want to help you…”

“No, I know. You want to die. But your sire is out there, doing god-only-knows-what. Don’t you want him to be stopped? Don’t you want to get back at him for taking away your life?” He asked as he stood and flipped a lever, causing the room to grow unbearably bright. I hissed and covered my eyes. “It’s just the light. You’ll be used to it soon.”

“It’s bright.” I complained.

“How long were you down there?”

“I don’t know.”

“What do you know?” His voice was tense, strained.

“What was his name?” I asked, instantly cringing, my body not knowing if he was going to hit me.

“Devan Volari.”

“I know that he abused me for years, dragging me from place to place. He destroyed my life, taking me away from my family. That’s what you want to hear, right?” He didn’t speak. “Who are you?”

“Domaul. Everyone just calls me Dom, though. I’m an investigator for the Order.”

“Investigator? What does that mean?”

“Basically, I track down the bad guys and put them away until the order can deal with them. I enforce the rules.”

“Do you know my name?” I asked suddenly, not knowing wither to regret it or not.

“Eliza Marie Devour.” He stated.

“Oh… I’m pretty sure I never liked that.” Dom's face softened to a calm, centered person.

“Pick a new one then. This is your chance.”

I thought about it for a moment, my mind wandering back in time to the life I used to possess, before speaking. “Willow. Willow Devour.”

“Do you want to get cleaned up?” She nodded slowly, glancing anxiously around the room. I held out my hand and, immediately, every muscle in her body tensed. “I’m not going to hurt you.” I tell her, earning a disbelieving gaze from her bright blue eyes.”I promise.” Hesitantly, she reached out and took my hand. Her skin was freezing, worse than any other vampires I’ve met. She was much paler than the average undead and there was a disconcerting panic around her that grew with every move she made.

She stood up slowly, not used to being able to walk. I led her to the bathroom and the terror in her eyes changed into pure curiosity. She released my hand and walked carefully across the room, attempting to take in everything. “This is all… unfamiliar to me.” She said as she ran her hand over the textured glass of the shower. “This time is frightening.”

“Give it a few days, you’ll adjust. Just be patient” I walked over to the closet and pulled out a towel for her. “Towel.” I said for her benefit, before handing it to her. Then I went and opened the door to the shower and turned the water on. “I apologize now for anything you might disagree with but modern shower,” motioning to the water spraying into the tub, “involve undressing before stepping into the water. It helps get cleaner faster.”

“So… I am to disrobe?” I nodded slowly. She reached behind her to unbutton her dress but her arms were too short to reach.

“Here, let me help. “ I stood behind her and slowly undid her clothes. She clutched them to her body, watching me out of the corner of her eye. Her back was damaged with faded scars, human scars. She was human… for a little while. “When you’re ready, let go of the dress, step into the water, and slide the door close. When you’re done, just turn the knob to the wall and step out. Easy?”

She said nothing, just stood awkwardly in the room, probably wondering why she was even cooperating. But she needs us as much as we need her. She’s our evidence. With her we could send out a world-wide hunt for him. There’d be nowhere left for him to hide and there’d be justice for any and all the others he’s abused.

“Use this for your hair and this for your body.” I said, holding up two different color bottles. “I’ll explain them later. Just don’t get them mixed up, okay?” She nodded slowly. “Alright. I’ll see if I can find you some clothes.”

“Thank you.” She whispered as I left the room.

The water was pleasantly warm as I stepped in. Following Domaul’s instructions, I shut the glass door and, immediately, it grew warmer. The water felt amazing as it hit and slid down my skin. After I was finished enjoying the heat, I picked up the small blue bottle that he said was for my hair and poured some in my hand, before rubbing it in my hair, before doing basically the same thing with the body soap.

I turned the knob towards the wall, as told, and stepped out. The towel I was handed earlier was soft and calmed my hot skin. I wrapped it around me before I opened the door and stepped into the hall. The cold surprised me and made me shiver. I made my way slowly down the hall towards the parlor. Domaul was sitting on a sofa with a note pad in his lap, writing intensely. “What are you writing?” I asked quietly, causing him to jump. “Sorry…”

“It’s alright. You’re very quiet. I just didn’t hear you.” I stood awkwardly in the doorway, unsure of what to do. “Give me a moment and I’ll help you with the clothes, I just need to finish this report.” He said as he finished writing, closed the pad, and stood, facing me. Something in his eyes seemed to flash when they set upon me. I didn’t understand and, instinctively, took a step back, clutching to towel closer to my person. He shook his head slightly and looked at me again. “Let’s get you dressed.”

He led me passed the cleaning room and into the room I woke up in. There were clothes folded on the neatly made bed. He held up each fabric and named it before helping me put it on. The modern clothing was much thinner than in my time. I almost missed the comforting thickness that my gowns provided.

“Gina, my partner, can take you to get clothes tomorrow, if you’d like. She’s better with this kind of stuff than me.” I said nothing, just nodded my head. “Alright, I’ll inform her later.’ I nodded again.

We were silent as I looked awkwardly around the room. Strange glass bulbs glowed brighter than any candle I’ve ever seen. They were so strong that they burned my eyes. “How much do you know about me? I asked my voice barely above a whisper.

“I know enough about you to know that Volari has put you through hell and back.”

“How long have I been gone…?”

“One hundred and twenty six years. You’ve missed quite a bit.”

“How long have you been a vampire?”

“Not quite sixty years. I’ve been on this case for almost as long. You a tough woman to track down.” I sat down on the bed, staring at the floor. “You okay?”

“That’s an obvious answer.” I commented, looking up and meeting his eyes. He had a look that I thought only my father could do. The look screamed ‘Don’t avoid the Question.’ “I want to go home.” I said quietly. “I miss my parents.”

Dom pulled me close to him as I started crying, my face buried itself in his shoulder. “I don’t really know how to help you with this…”

“I don’t either.” I admitted. We sat silent for awhile before he spoke.

“It’ll be light soon. Get some rest; you look like you need it.” I laughed weakly, rubbing the tears out of my eyes. “We’ll talk later.” I stood and got under the covers as he left the room without a sound. I settled into a peaceful, dreamless sleep.

Mostly it's just a filler section. Sorry it took me so long! I forgot about all my stories. stressed

She slept silently through the day, which was a surprise to me. I figured I’d be in there calming her down. Okay, I’ll admit that I was in there every so often, just checking on her. The apartment was quiet all day, as normal. Quiet and dark, I sat in the living room, doing paper work. Oh Joy.

Sometime around One p.m., I called up Gina. “What do you want?” She demanded when she answered the phone.

“I need a favor.”

“This better be good… I was in the middle of an amazing dream involving Mr. Right.”

“Please keep those in your head. This is serious.”

“Lay it on me, big boy.”

“What’s your opinion on a shopping spree completely paid for by the Order. No limit.

“Dare I ask what the catch is…?” She asked, a hint of sternness in her voice

“Well… Willow needs clothes and you know how good I am with that stuff.”

“That the name she picked?”

“Yea.” I said.

“Meet me at the shopping center outside town at sundown.” I heard a click and knew she hung up. All I could think of was my absolute hatred of cell phones.

“I hate technology.” I mumbled to myself.

Just a short section. Its the end of Chapter 2. Out of the 5 1/2 I have typed up currently.

CHAPTER THREE

The outside world was more frightening than I could’ve ever imagined. Bright bulbs everywhere, some moving, even. Dom had woken me and put me in a large, horseless carriage that was very loud. I didn’t like it. You couldn’t feel the soft wind in your face. Or the rain, as it figures.

Dom said that his partner was willing to help me get different woven garments. I found it very generous of her to give up her night. I made a note in my mind to thank her later.

He took me to a large building with many other carriages surrounding it. A woman stood beside one of them, her arms crossed and uncrossed as Dom coasted to a stop. He got out, greeted her, and then opened my door, letting me out. “Gina, this is Willow. Willow, this is my partner, Gina.”

“It is truly a pleasure to meet you.” I said slowly as I curtsied.

She laughed lightly and I stood uncomfortably. “You look a lot better than the last time I saw you. It seems like Dom actually has something under control for once.” Dom shifted nervously. “Don’t worry; I’ll take care of her.” She took my arm and led me inside. It was even louder than in the carriage. People were going everywhere, looking almost lost. It was depressing. “Where do you want to start? Any Ideas?” I shook my head, not even knowing what to do.

“This is going to be fun…Let’s get started.” She said, taking my arm again and leading me into a small boutique full of simple, small gown that look like the ones I wore as a child. “I figured that you’re from a time where girls wore dresses, not shorts or pants. But before we pick anything, we need to figure out your size. Personally, I’d say you’re a 6. But I could be wrong.”

‘I don’t understand.”

“Sizes are how we figure out how big or small our clothes need to be so that they fit right.” She picked up a short blue dress and inspected it before setting it back. “Look around, see what you like.”

“Where do I begin?” I asked, looking around at the various arrangements. “There are so many.”

“What catches your eye?”

We wondered around many clothing areas through the entire building. I spent most of the time learning things, like how to put things on, modern speech, movements, and actions. They are very strange in their actions.

Later that night, we sat in a ‘club’ nearby drinking sodas. It was very odd to be around so many humans after over a century hidden away. Gina offered to teach me how to feed, almost like she was going to take me on as her fledging, but I politely declined. I wasn’t ready to experience that… at least, not tonight.

She drove us back to Dom’s ‘apartment’, as she called it. When I asked why it was called that when everyone lived so close together, she laughed and said no one could figure it out.

When we got there, Dom helped bring in the few bags I had. Then we all sat in the Parlor, talking about the case and what I was to expect in the next few days, if not weeks.

“You could be in serious trouble if you don’t cooperate.” He started off sharply.

“Dom!” Gina scolded.

“What? I’m not going to lie to her.” He glanced in my direction, then back. “That’s the last thing she needs to worry about.”

“I appreciate your honesty.” I said timidly.

“See…” He gloated, but Gina only rolled her eyes.

“Do you think he’ll find me?” I asked.

“There is always that possibility…” Gina started.

“But if he does, we’re ready. He won’t hurt you anymore.” Dom promised.

She didn’t look convinced. She just stared at me blankly. I don’t think she believe a word I said. I don’t really blame her. I didn’t believe myself.

“I’ll try to help you as best as I can but I am in no position to make promises” She said after a moment.

“That’s all we ask.” Gina said, setting her glass of soda on the table and stood. “It’s late. I’ve got other business to attend to before the sun comes up. See you guys tomorrow.” I nodded in her direction as she left.

“What do you want to do now?” I asked as I stood and brought the glass into the kitchen.

“I don’t know…” She paused. “Can I ask you something?”

“Yea, what’s on your mind?” I heard her stand and walk up next to me, as I rinsed out the cup.

“What happened to my parents?”

I froze before setting the glass down. She caught me off guard; and she knew it. “I was hoping you wouldn’t ask till later.”

“I want to know.”

“I know.” I dried my hands and led her back in to the living room. “I’ll be right back.” I assured her before heading into my temporary file room. I opened one of the cabinets and grabbed a manila folder with her name on it. “Please let this be enough…” I prayed quietly, before closing the drawer and walked back out to her.

“What is this?” She asked after I placed the file in front of her on the table. She knelt on the floor in front of it, eyes full on excitement mixed with confusion.

“This is everything The Order has on you. Your case file.” I flipped open the cover and put her face to face with her own portrait. I watched her as she ran her fingers over the ancient canvas, taking it in.

“He said it was a surprise for me… I never saw it before.”

“It’s not signed.”

“It doesn’t have to be.” She said, smiling sadly. Though it was her portrait, it looked nothing like her. The eyes, the painted eyes looked so alive and happy. But the real ones, the true ice blue eyes, they were cold, sad, dying.

I flipped through the folder until I found the report on her parents. “This is what we could find on them.”
---
I read silently about what became of my parents. My father, an English nobleman perished of pneumonia just months after my disappearance. My mother got remarried to a lord and moved on. She died in childbirth 5 years later. But there was nothing that said they looked for me.

I could feel my eyes well up against my will. Wiping my eyes with my hand, I closed the file and sat with my back against the sofa. “I’m sorry it’s not more.” He said, placing his hand on my shoulder.

“It’s plenty.” I whispered.

“I know this is probably the worst time possible, but what happened that night?”

“The night my life ended?” He nodded solemnly “I was arguing with my father. My mother was crying. He said something and my anger peaked, so I pushed him and ran out of the house and, well, you know the rest.”

“Is that everything?”

“Everything I can remember.”

“Well, it’s not much… Can you remember what you and your father were arguing about?” I shook my head slowly, remember everything my father and I shouted at each other, but hoped he couldn’t tell. “Alright. If you can remember anything else… anything at all, please tell me. It could help in the long run.” He picked up the folder and started to leave the room with it.

“I remember that it was really cold. And dark. I was sore and scared. My skin hurt from the cuts of his nails. My throat, from screaming. My limbs, from trying to fight back. I was broken… He dishonored me, damaged me, in more ways…more times than I can count.”

He said nothing for a moment, just looked at the ground. Probably contemplating on a response. Finally, after a few moments, he spoke. “I can’t promise you proper revenge but I can promise, without a doubt, that we’ll get him, and He Will Pay. He won’t get away with giving you this life and all the pain he’s caused.”

“I’ll hold you to that.”

“Just think… it could be worse.”

I laughed sharply, and then glared at him. “How could this possibly be any worse?” My anger instantly flared, causing my body to shake as I stood up. “My life is over. Everyone I’ve ever cared about is long dead. And I guarantee the only reason I’m still here because of information I may or may not have.” I walked around the small table and faced him. “And let’s not forget that I’ve been in captivity for 130 years.” I practically screamed in his face.

“It could still be worse.” He repeated his eyes boring into mine. It felt like he could see through me. “You could still be in captivity and you could still be in the dark about what happened to your parents. We could still be out there, looking for you. But instead, you’re here, you’re alive, and you’re safe. Yea, the situation sucks. But think of it as a new start. We all do.”

I said nothing, just stood before him holding my ribs. I had almost forgotten about the pain, but it had grown viciously intense with my anger and I was now regretting getting carried away. “Are you alright?” I heard him ask, but just barely. The blood rushed passed my ears, the pulsing grew practically unbearable. It hurt you much…

A nice long section. Still not the end of the chapter.

I placed a hand on her shoulder. “Willow…?” But she didn’t respond. Pain crossed her pale skin, any color that was there draining. The room started to fill with the red haze that came with the scent of fresh blood. I dropped the folder and wrapped my arms around as she began to fall backwards, catching her. I carried her over to the couch and laid her down, before pulling out my phone and called Doug, the local ‘Undead’ doctor. “Doug, I’ve got a huge problem. Get your a** over here.”

“No need to swear. I’ll be over soon.”

The doorbell rang and Doug walked in. He took one sniff and his eyes darkened, with hunger or anger, I’m not quite sure which. He went to her and lifted her shirt enough to see a white lump piercing through her skin. “How did it get to this point?” He asked, bewildered. “This is bigger than just a problem. Her ribs are badly broken, quite possibly piercing her lung, her breathing is labored. The healing process should’ve started long before this.”

“Can you fix it?” I asked, trying not to indulge my nervous habit of pacing.

“I don’t know, man. It’s pretty bad. When’s the last time she was properly fed?"

“A hundred years or so, I don’t know. But I know it’s been awhile.”

“She needs blood, fresh blood. It’ll heal her faster. Got a knife?” I took mine out of my back pocket and handed it to him. “Arm, over her mouth.” He ordered. I obeyed, watching her face intently. Doug made a small cut down my forearm, the blade sliding over the skin. I brushed her hair back with my other hand.

She tilted her head up and latched her mouth onto the cut, her fangs digging into the muscle. The pain would’ve hurt like a b***h if adrenaline hadn’t kicked in. But for a moment, she relaxed her mind and I could almost see what she was thinking. A usual thing for vampire on vampire feedings, but it was so much better than what others tried to explain to me.

“Good…” Doug said, watching the scene carefully. She released not long after, her back arched in pain and her face twisted.

“Hold her head.” He said as he put some foam in her mouth. “I need to set her ribs, most of them are broken. She’ll hurt herself if she’s free.” I nodded and sat on the couch, her head in my lap. “She may scream, cry or twitch. Be ready to silence, comfort and restrain. Just… try not to break her even more."
