READ BEFORE POSTING Location:
Karakura Town - Karakura Honchou
Karakura's bustling shopping district holds a plethora of buildings making it a hazardous place to be caught surprised by hollows. The district also houses the town's train station and is divided by the Karasu river on the right end.
We will be dropping in just east of the main facility along the Karasu river.
Mission Statement:
There have been reports of suspicious noises during the midnight hours, but nothing was reported as being seen by any forward units of 2nd Division. We are still leery to leave any wholes sitting long in this area in case a hollow does in fact appear. The most recent souls have been properly taken care of, but we have received Intel on two new subjects. Specific information has not been obtained, but initial scans of the site by 12th have given positive verification that both reside within or around the immediate area of the Shopping district.
Our mission is to properly bury these souls and any new souls that appear. We have also been asked that we investigate further into the mysterious noises as they may be a possible hollow invasion/attack. Patrolling the area entirely is our best bet.
This will be a general patrol of the Karakura Hochou District headed by myself, Lt. Tezuka. Captain Fefnir will be accompanying, whether to observe or participate in this patrol being up to him.
[NOTE]
When you make your entrance post, please be sure to roll one 12-sided die.

[Enters in from Soul Society]
Tezuka huffed the night air with pursed lips, his shoulders heaving with his sagging chest. The air stank here. Hell, this whole place smelled bad to him, the only redeeming quality being the river which, for all he knew, was someone's trash can. He shrugged this off though, focusing on getting a decent line-of-sight of the surrounding area that would be Squad 1's walking path for the rest of the eve.
His hands were firmly planted on his hips as he waited for the rest of his team to make their way through the gate, which was off to his right side. The hell butterfly that had brought him here lingered around the mouth of the portal, sometimes dipping back into the white light of the gate and other times flipping about the celestial muck of this world. At least the sky was somewhat clear. That would help keep them from being snuk-up on when they got closer to the shopping center.

From out of the gate came a smaller boy, a smirk on his face as he walked out and into the open. He immediately took a place beside Tezuka, casually standing there less then a foot away from the taller man. He hadn't spoken yet, and was obviously distracted with fastening the tassel on the front of his chest. His small fingers were tangled within the intertwined ropes, tightening them at the same time they caressed. Once done, he rattled his entire upper body and allowed himself to get comfortable with the weapon's position across his back. Quizzically, he turned his head from left to right, completely ignoring Tezuka, before finally turning his full attention towards the man. A tint of worry was in his voice as he spoke. "Aye Tezuka..? This is s'posed to be a simple soul burial mission right..? I know there's the whole thing about there bein' some noises but.." His already slow words came to a halt as his attention was taken away by the sight of the dark shopping district in the distance. He gulped nervously, shaking his head and then turning his head back up to face Tezuka's. ".. Nevermind." Shrugging it off without another word, Zenny went to take a few steps forward so that he was about seven feet in front of Tezuka. Standing alone, and peering into the landscape ahead, he began to think. "I'll be just fine as long as we stay together. Right..? H-Hopefully.. Bu-b.. Agh what am I thinking! I can't be worryin' bout' my own little nervous feelings when everyone gets to workin'. I gotta stay sharp, especially in this terrain. It's dark and eerie, and whatever may be here has an advantage. If things really pick up, I'll have to be at my best; that means usin' ma' head!" From nowhere, the boy's fist shot up to waist-level and clenched tightly. His entire arm shook with this gesture, but it wasn't visible due to the distance he'd managed to make between himself and those that were, or would soon be, behind him. His determination obviously showed, an ever so modest and subtle leak of his reiastu presence becoming sensible. One experienced enough would come to notice the faint mixture of emotions: Fear. Anxiety. Determination. Aggression. And Anticipation.

Axius walked out of the gate. He was part of a mission that his squad was doing. Though he was the new guy he was eager to get some action and experience under his belt. He walked up to two other members of his squad and bowed. "Axius Fredirt reporting." As he rose he memorized the faces of the people he would be patrolling along side.
This was his first mission so he was a bit tense and nervous. He wanted to make sure that he did a good job from the start especially if he wanted to rise in the ranks and become a captain one day.
((Sorry for the boring post I am still not that important to the squad yet.))

ENEMY, you may think,_____ but never VILLAIN…__________
X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X "I never quite get used to that..." Fefnir muttered to himself as he stepped through the senkaimon into Karakura. It'd been a long time since the red man had been to the little city, but he generally enjoyed the trips, and almost always found the time to stop by one of the many shops the place had to offer and pick up some odd end or another. This time, his goal was to grab a TV at some point, so it was good that he had some help to carry it back, and also good that he'd drug himself and the other three gigai, just in case they needed them at some point. Since bodies just laying around would be conspicuous, they came in large wooden boxes, one noticeable smaller than the others, each fully clothed and ready-made with accessories, and there was a small shed placed nearby, put there for easy storage of shinigami implements, so he trotted down the side of the river and tossed them all in roughly before returning to the gate and the three shinigami under his care tonight.
Tonight, he was sporting a different look. Tsubame had gotten his uniform back to him, good as new, with a couple of difference here and there, but had also included some nice changes. For example, the usual hakama was changed to remain more open, parting at the obi instead of crossing just below the neck, and he was given a nice, tight UnderArmor-esque black shirt, long sleeved and designed to hold heat close to his body. It ended up sticking out of the ends of the sleeves a bit, but Fef imagined she'd intended it to be that way. She'd managed to get a hold of someone in Squad 12 to get another pair of his reinforced sandals in white to compliment the belt and shirt, and to make a contrast with the most noticeable feature of his new ensemble: a large, flowing black cape, buttoned on the right shoulder with an ornate silver clasp emblazoned with the Squad 1 flower, the Chrysanthemum, for truth. Down the right edge on the back, a pair of white intertwined lines scroll down to meet the insignia bearing the number '1'.
A little fancy, sure, but you have to admit, Tsubame knows style.
Judging by the body language of the group, about half weren't exactly confident with how things were going, so he decided he'd try and lighten the mood a bit. "Y'all are so tense!" he announced, his voice resonating lightly over the brook nearby. He'd slipped into Kyo-kotoba by accident, but decided to go with it anyway. "Relax. We haf'ta go shoppin' around for a good deal on some electronics after we get this job done, and y'all haf'ta carry it, so I can't let somethin' happen, now can I?" He followed this with a little laugh, then turned to his attention to the two members he hadn't met personally before, and gave a little nod to Axius and Zenny, adding, "Sorry I didn't get to meet'cha personally before now. I know the two of ya by name, but I haven't got to know ya yet. I'm Fefnir, but I suppose ya already know that. Y'all can just call me Fefnir if ya want, 'kay?" And he flashed them a million dollar smile before looking to Tezuka. He hadn't really paid attention to the details, so when he filled in the other two, the captain needed to make sure he listened as well.X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X

Axius turned to see his squad captain addressing him. His eyes widened at first out of shock that he was being addressed. At first he didn't know what to do he was half ready to run, but in that instant he thought about himself and his own style and remembered to always stay calm and ready. He took a deep breath and bowed to his Captain. "Sir! I am Axius Fredirt. Unseated member of squad one sir." Axius kept formal and raised his head slowly after his introduction.
Axius was already feeling strange about his mission and took hold of his sword by its sheath. He pulled it out of his belt and held it at his side in case he needed to fight.

Charging head long though the brilliant otherworldly muck of the Senkaimon, a throng of Jigokuchou in her stead, Aine was almost out of the gate and into the living world, shouting “Freedom” at the top of her lungs. Only to screech to halt as her feet hit pavement. Of course, it couldn’t happen any other way. Right when she had the perfect opportunity to return to her house for some much needed R n’ R away from Fefnir and his far less then hospitable attitude towards her, low and behold the very red clad man standing directly in her path as she exited the Senkaimon. “Objection!” Raising a hand to point both accusingly and epically at the First Captain, Aine followed it up with, “What’n the hell are ya do’in in my neighborhood!?”
Could the situation get any better? Obviously not, glancing away from the short term bane of her existence, she set her emerald gaze on three other Shinigami, each she was sure were from said bane’s Squad. Great…irony, please kill me now. Dropping her pointing hand, she set it on her now cocked hip and fumed. Tezuka Matsushima - Vice Captain…Henano Zenseiki “Zenny” - Third Seat, Axius Fredirt - Unseated… Mentally ticking off the three Shinigami, Aine had a fond recollection on how she’d gotten any information on them. Finding the stacks of paperwork beneath Fefnir’s desk had been so easy. You’d think that important paperwork would be locked up tight, but no. She couldn’t leave the room and go interact like a normal person, and it was far more fun to root through files and other training submission papers to get what she wanted. The process helped alleviate her klepto tendencies, especially seeing as how they’d been building up around the fancy instruments in equally fancy glass cases through out the office.
“Oh, I see…this is that train’in mission that was on top of the stack. Fortune just had ta smile upon me n’ make the damned thing happen here…” Shooing a Jigokuchou out from in front of her face, Aine plastered on one of her familiar smirks, waiting for just what would happen next. There wouldn’t be any gun to the head like last time, that was sure, now a sword blade headed straight for her head, maybe. She was supposed to be a prisoner and all.

ENEMY, you may think,_____ but never VILLAIN…__________
X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X Axius was the first to say anything, and with the bow and all, Fefnir felt a bit awkward. As a Captain, he'd never really established that kind of respect barrier with folks most of his colleagues did. He was of the opinion that, even though he was ranked higher, they were all the same, essentially. I suppose he's trying to make a good impression and all, but I'd I'd much rather get to know him as a friend than as a subordinate... the red man mused as he gave a little wave of his hand, a way of saying, 'that's a bit unneeded', and his face reflected it. "Ya don't haf'ta be so formal, Axius. If I wan'ed ta have things bein' all serious, I'da said so, ya know? Jus' chill. Call me Fefnir, Fef, Feffy, so on, so forth, all that jazz, and you can lose that super-honorable stuff. We're all here ta do our job, not ta give the target a lesson in manners!"
It was about then that an unexpected thing happened: Fef felt something coming through the senkaimon, blurry and quickly approaching. At first, he thought it might be Asuma trying to make up for lost time, but the feeling rapidly gave way to the shape and sound of his oh so timely walking aneurysm, one Kirihara Aine. Now, to say Fefnir was angry at her was an understatement. He was seething, absolutely determined to strangle her later, at least until he realized he had a use for her. Then, mad as he was, he didn't up and thrash her on the spot, determined to keep himself in a positive light with the rest of his group. He threw a few contemptuous words her way, though, to let off some steam.
"I am the judge around here, Braveheart," he said cooly, without a hint of his accent or any emotion. "Your objection is overruled. Make yourself useful or get back to my office. Got it? Good."
He turned back toward the rest of the group (the senkaimon was to his back and he'd looked the other way to deal with the defect) and really gave them a good, hard look, to kind of get a feel for them. The first thing he noticed was the height discrepancy. He had a good few inches on Tezuka and Axius, and a full foot, at least, on Zenny. You could see the apprehension on the youngest, and some anxiety on the middle mentioned, but Tezuka didn't seem to be all that concerned with things, which was a bit good and a bit bad; he'd make clear decisions, but the tension for extreme attentiveness wasn't there yet, by the captain's judgment, but he trusted it to be there when needed.
He couldn't quite put it into words, but Fefnir had a feeling that this was going to be a good mission.X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X

Tezuka leaned back with his upper body, letting his toes pop up almost to the tips as he stretched in place. What seemed to be a slight grimace appeared on his face, the right side of his upper lip becoming the main focal point in his would-be frown. With a loud rumble he jerked his head forward spitting off to his right into the darkness before turning around to face the group.
" Let's keep that lovey-dovey s**t under wraps, boss. I'd like t'keep my stomach nice 'n mellow if ya' don't mind." His head leaned back a little as if in a pre-emptive recoil or just because it was Tezuka no one would really know. With hands still on his hips he looked at the rag-tag group with an amused smile: Some newbies, some veterans, and whatever the hell Fef's mystery friend was. He really hadn't had full introductions with the lady, but by the way the captain threw around derogatory movie references it wouldn't matter if he did or not.
Tezuka pursed his lips, chin furrowing as his raised eyebrows accompanied something similar to an approving nod and a 'come hither' wave of his right hand. "Hmm. Alright, business time. Bring it in, gents...and lady." He smirked to himself, almost forgetting that last detail until his eyes had settled back on Aine for a brief moment. "Hollows. Nasty motha' ********. We know this. Most of us have seen 'em up close in person. Bad breath, bad tempers, ya' get where I'm goin' with dis. Apparently we've been getting on and off readings and trippy a** noises at night, but nothing concrete. It's the like the b*****d's a ninja wannabe or some dumb s**t. Anyway, wholes're getting scared, like always, so we're trying to clear out the area so Mr. Big don't gots no 4th meal." Tezuka paused now, bending his knees a little more, so he was now squatting, as he looked around the loosely huddled group. "Good news, bad news time. Good news is we only have two more of these funny nancies to bury. Bad news is they're fresh. No tags. So we're gonna have to play a little bit of the ol' lookin' game until they turn up. That and our eyes in the sky are dark. No sightings of Mr. Big t'night and it's the start of the new moon. We're runnin' blind as blind gets in this business and I'm not in a big hurry to become number 2, large with a side of gravy fries. I'm guessin' the same rolls wit you guys so I'm not even gonna ask...unless you'd like me to go ahead and wrap you in bacon and ring the bell. 'Cause I can do that too. No? Alright."
Tezuka shrugged with a huff, pushing himself back into a standing position. The right side of his mouth stretched back, a loud popping sound resonating in his eardrum for a few seconds before suddenly becoming aware of a plethora of new sounds, and smells. He snorted, clearing his nostrils before turning back towards the shopping complex behind their position. "We should split inta' two teams and pincer this b***h tight. One high, one low, all access pass. Should speed things up nice and quick so we aren't here until morning. So..." He spun around now, staring more towards Fefnir than anyone else. "...you wanna divvy up the troops or should I, sir?"

Axius sucked all the information in like a sponge. As the words hit him he started to become slightly shacky. He had never fought against a hallow and knew that some were insanly strong and vicious. He took hold of his sword tightly and pulled out of his belt like he often did. He wanted to prove his worth and fight but he was scared he might die.
"Sir, I know you don't like the idea but I will be bate to draw the Hallow out." Axius eyes drifted to the ground showing his fear but then he looked up again more confidant this time. "If I do that than we can ambush him and end his life quickly."
In Axius head he didn't have a death wish or anything like that he just wanted to protect the living and dead souls around him. Lets just destroy this thing now before anyone else can die. Please sir use me."

From every which way came several barrages of sounds and different voices. Sure, they came in intervals, but very very short ones. The once startled child dropped his state of fear, and grew another; a state of utter confusion. He was stuck turning his head to many awkward directions and positions, his neck growing sore from having to pivot and contort so that he may look every person in the face while they spoke. Due to how the conversation transpired, however, he found himself at lost with many different awkward and misinterpreted statements in his head; the final one was the most awkward though. ".. W-Wrap me in bacon and ring the bell..?!" Zenny repeated Tezuka's 'Play On Words' to himself a few times, now staring down at his newly opened palms, which seemed to look back up at him. "I dun' wann'a be wrapped in bacon!" Shouting aloud, the boy's thoughts were obviously splayed out for those who wouldn't be able to understand it. Zenny, not knowing this, continued to perform his subtle breakdown. "MISTER FEFFY-NUUR, DON'T LET'EM WRAP ME IN BACON~!" Dramatically (,and dynamically,) the boy leaped forward with an inhumane presence about him. His arms were wide out as he flew towards his captain, comedically flailing his arms in hopes of the man catching him. Midair however, he managed to catch his stupidity. "Wait. This can't possibly be meant to be taken seriously.. We're on serious business and- Ahh!?" Not having been watching where he was flailing, the boy averted his airborne path towards the captain, instead landing a good few feet to the right of him. With a thud, the child went a rough roll. In the end, he lay comedically on the ground. Now laying on his stomach, with spirals replacing his pupils, the child simply moaned and attempted to regain a stable set of mind. "Ok. No bacon.. What else was said..? Somethin' bout braveheart, and lucky days. Oh, and hollow bait! Hm. Maybe we're gonna go buy the DVD braveheart, and today's our lucky day cuz' it's on sale! W-wait.. What about hollow bait..? Isn't that stuff for another race..? Gah! What else was there.. Somethin' bout' us being separated for the mission..? Hunh.. I guess that's the most logical thing I've thought up today! I'ma go with that, and build off'a it!" Happy to have come to a conclusion of some sort, the small boy started to stand up again. Once at his feet, he shook his clothes off and chuckled a bit, looking around before walking back nearest the group. He was there just in time to hear Axius's comment on destroying this thing before anyone could get harmed, or die.. Without a hint of fear, the boy stepped forward and just beside the slightly taller boy. His left arm reached up slowly, tapping his shoulder before pulling at his uniform. "I agree about the secon' part of what ya' said, but I'm guessing you were the one talking about eating, or maybe being, hollow bait. That's a bad idea~.. Noone wants to put you in harms way. If anyone were bait, it would have to be someone we trust that can hold there own in case the plan falters on a different angle. Ya' see, someone like Tezuka or mister Feffy-ner would do good in that position. Not only do they emit more energy then either of us, but they also can hold the fort in case things get bad; win win situation, with less chance of failure." Pausing with a smile, he removed his hand from the boy's shoulder and circled to stand facing him completely. With a cute little grin, he continued to speak. ".. Unless of course we're paired to make your plan less dangerous..? There's a total five'a us, so three stealthy, and hard hittin' attackers and then two defensive baits sounds much better then just you alone. Let's leave'et to the others to help decide all this technical stuff though~.." With a friendly nod towards Axius, Zenny set himself back up beside him. He seemed much more calm now; maybe it was the fact that there were so many comrades here now~!

Tezuka's gaze averted towards Zenny and Axius, looking at one and then the other before looking back at Zenny. Whatever hint of amusement left on his face, even forced or fake, evaporated into thin air. Sometimes, just sometimes the boy got a little too wound up for his own good. And this was one of those times. Tezuka tilted his head to the side and just stared at him for a moment before continuing on to address the bait idea. It wasn't that he didn't condone free-thinking it was just the whole idea. Baiting just didn't sit pretty with Tezuka. It never did, even if the someone being used as bait could handle themselves. But his thoughts were beginning to wonder away from the real purpose of the mission. They could hunt for hollows any other day. "We're not here to bait anything, y'all." He said with a shake of the head, breaking up any more chatter about the previous matter. "We're hear to ensure the safety and proper burial of all remaining souls still in this area. If, and I mean a strong if, we run into a hollow we kill it. End of story. No baiting, no traps. This ain't'a ********' fishin' trip with daddy. This is a straight forward patrol 'n protect mission. Ya' got it, boys?" His words were forceful now, right hand coming down to chop the palm of his left as he finished out his little rant before pointing individually to Zenny and Axius. "We don't need dead troopers."

Axius hung his head realizing that his idea had been completely blown away. He just wanted to prove that he was a capable soilder. "Roger that sure." He stepped back slowly and let his captain and vice captain decide what to do. His thoughts were still on defeating the Hallow and ending the problem for everyone. "I really just wanted to help. Its hard when no one notices my skills." Axius was speaking to himself now. He was wispering very quietly. He felt useless in his own sqaud and hope that he could do at lease something during the mission to porve his worth.
