Oh Gods.
Oh Gods.
Where was he? The young blue lion looked around. Everything was so strange and new, right down to the little animals scurrying at his paws. It put fear in his throat. It had been so long since he'd been on his own, without Zana, without anyone that he couldn't fully comprehend it.
Kimya backed up to the little cave he'd been sleeping in and hunkered down. Oh Gods.

Pattin turned over on his little bed of grasses. With a sigh the lion finally opened an eye. It didn't seem bad outside. "Might as well get up and moving about." Muttered the lion as he pulled himself up and stretched.
With ease Pattin started slipping through the hiding place of his little sanctuary. After a moment he frowned. Was there someone else out here? Sure enough the lion caught the signs and faint scent of another and went out to investigate.

Kimya took a deep breath to calm himself. If Zana were here, she would be telling him to grow a pair and explore.
Easy enough for her to say! That girl wasn't afraid of anything. Even when they faced those crocidiles together, the only reason she'd been afraid was because of him.
He stood up a little straighter and padded out, willing himself to go one paw further each time. One little two little three little.... What was that smell?

One....two....three. Pattin's lashing tail was the only warning before the green lion came dashing through the foliage. He had seen hints of another cat, and hoped that by doing this it would leave. No more demons like that one female thank you very much!
Now he planned to be as scary and intimidating as possible.Too bad his paws got caught up in some random roots. With a startled yell the lion started tumbling at the light blue shape of a lion.

T'were Kimya not mute, he would have screamed. As it were, he gaped and stumbled back onto his hindlegs, sapphire eyes wide. Being naturally clumsy, he fell face first onto the ground with the other lion on his back.
He didn't dare move. What if the thing tried to eat him? What if he attacked? Kimya was getting stronger, but he wasn't that strong. Hestitantly, he looked over his shoulder.

"Ouch." Pattin's blue eyes slowly blinked open as his sight returned. What was that lump? The fuzzy blue lines came together in the form of another lion and Pattin sighed. That didn't go exactly as planned.
Pushing away from the stranger, Pattin shook his head and tried to get the buzzing noise from his ears. "You okay?" He reluctantly asked. Now that he hadn't heard any response or felt anything terrible from the stranger, he felt that he at least could be some what polite.

Kimya coughed painfully and spat out a wad of blood from the cut on his tongue. He looked at the stranger and nodded, trying to shift himself from underneath the lion. Despite having his chest squeezed, he was perfectly fine.
Nkosanzana was going to get the biggest kick out of this. Or maybe she wouldn't. It wasn't like Kimya could tell her and unless she was watching....suddenly, he felt alot better.
But what about the stranger? Was he alright? His eyes filled with concern as he slipped out and looked the other over.

Pattin nearly jumped with worry as he saw the blood that the other lion spat out. "Oh! Are you sure you're okay? Are you bleeding badly or?" He paused. Where was the blood coming from? Oh! Did he damage something internally?
"By the gods I'm such a silly lion!" Pattin swept a paw through the air, exasperated at himself. "I can lead you to some water. So you can clean up any cuts and such."

Kimya stuck out his tongue to flash off the tiny, but deep cut that was already healing. He nodded that he was okay, shook his head no to the bleeding and generally went along with the lion. He was a frazzled male, that was for sure. Thought he suspected it wasn't like this all the time.
Although, water did sound nice. Kimya rubbed his throat with a paw, then wriggled it like waves. Sternly, he held his arms out and shook his head, then brung them in with a nod. Big rivers had snaggle tooths, and he didn't want anymore run ins with those.

"Alright." Pattin let out a sigh of relief before realizing something. This lion hadn't said a word the whole time - usually someone would chew him out for tumbling into them. Well at least he thought they would, who knows how the world works when you hide behind a wall of plants?
"Come on." Pausing Pattin tried to understand what the other lion was trying to tell him. "No ocean?" Tilting his head he thought about it, "Wait, the only other source of water besides pools around here is the river. I won't take you there." Turning he trudged through the tall grasses and past other plants and herbs as he took Kimya to a deep water hole that was usually deserted this time of day.

Good then. Kimya nodded, happy that he wouldn't have to deal with the snaggletooths any time soon. He trotted behind Pattin, his tail curling up around the plants and grasses. One day very soon, he was going to be in a place without life. He wanted to remember this the best he could.
Kimya approached the watering hole and walked up to his spine before drinking. The crisp coolness felt wonderful on his fur. In truth, both he and his companion were water cats, and it made little sense to him why they were going to a desert.
Once he'd had his fill, he turned around to Pattin. Wasn't he coming?

Pattin watched Kimya with interest. Why was a mute all the way out here by himself? The lion shook his head before blinking up at the other lion. "Oh me?" With a purring laugh Pattin jumped up from and waded into the cool water.
"It does feel good." He commented before lapping up some of the water. Wiping his muzzle with a paw, the lion looked back at Kimya. "Do you have somewhere to go? Or at least someone with you?" Normally he wasn't one to look into someone's life but he just had to make sure.
For some reason he felt worry that this other lion was going to be getting into some sort of danger. Which was silly of him. Pattin chuckled before backing out of the water, "This place is kinda my sanctuary. A resting place for travelers too if it's needed." He looked sincerely at Kimya before nodding.

Kimya nodded happily. He had a companion and a destination, she was just out right now. It felt odd to have someone be concerned about his welfare, so he looked the other way and dipped his head under.
When he surfaced, he stretched out on his back to float, listening to Pattin. It would be nice, to stay here forever, but it wasn't meant to be. He nodded to show that he'd heard it, but....ya.

"Good." Pattin grinned before splashing into the waters one last time. At least the other lion had someone with him. That made him feel better now about leaving him here.
"I know." Pattin let out a chuckle, "No living here. I'm just saying that if you ever go somewhere and need to rest on the way back home this place is open." His tail flicked with some amusement before he backed away from the shore and turned back towards his home. "And with that I'm off. Too many things to care for that might wilt without me helping them." He peeked over his shoulder before disappearing in the grasses, "G'luck with life, friend!"
