[A private roleplay between Cult (Pollack) and Seamus! (Necrona) ]

User Image

It was horrible outside. Stormy and wet Cult didn't go outside all day, nope she stayed in her little hidey hole high up into the mountains. Only eating from her store of fresh grass and apples she kept always, drinking from the pools of water inside the many holes of her cave.
She was laid lazily down on her side, watching the rain pour down the mouth of her cave before rushing down the mountain. It was lonely but peaceful up here, she liked it that way. Since she lived alone all of her life Cult had gotten use to the silence and quite enjoyed it when she didn't feel like going down below and meeting other soquili.
In fact her last meeting was the reason she was up here more often then normal. Ah yes she remembered that smaller brown stallion. It was a simple hiccup that left her in pain for days. She winced at the memory. It was her fault really she wasn't looking where she was going. But none the less Cult had to wonder what ever happened to the stallion. She had went back a few days later after she healed up for more apples (Careful not to knock over anymore people!) to find him gone.
She simply brushed off the meeting with the mystery stallion off as just another life story to chalk up to her vast number of stories.

She sighed as Cult rolled onto her back, Her large wings fanned out around her. It was a very unladylike pose but psh, it was her house! She could pose however she wanted. It was a large clap of thunder that brought her back to her side. She smirked and shook her head at herself. Heh getting scared over a little clap of thunder! Besides it was simply the great thunder bird flying high over the skies, his kingdom. Letting all know that he was there and needed to be feared. Cult didn't fear him to say but more respected him, as she should.

Still with all this deep thinking about gods Cult was starting to get tired. The sound of pounding rain had always been something that made her sleepy. With a smile she rolled over and pressed her back to the still warm from the sun rock walls of her cave. Little did she know that there was an intruder was coming up her mountain.

User ImageThunder cracked overhead and Seamus tensed reflexively. He couldn't remember being this wet in ages. His coat was so saturated that he could feel little rivers of rainwater running over the skin itself. His tail felt like it weighed a ton, and his mane, short though it was, had plastered itself to his face. In short, he was miserable.

Why he'd thought to climb this mountain was beyond him. He'd just been wandering along, ambling his way through the land, when he'd come to the foothills. He'd looked up at the mountain and thought--what had he thought, again? Must've been something akin to "ooh, what a tall and foreboding-looking mountain for someone who has never climbed one before! I should do so immediately!" Spirits, he's an idiot. (And to think, for the briefest of moments he'd thought "maybe it will even be a little like flying," and if he'd had a vague half-memory of big ashy wings, what of it?)

Now he was up so very high, and the air was thinner than he was used to, and everything was rocky and hard on his hooves. And what was worst was that he hadn't even been able to find tree-cover of late to hide beneath. He was completely exposed, out of his element, and stuck in this rain. Normally he liked the rain--it was cool and refreshing and it made the entire earth smell wonderful--but now, when he could do nothing to escape it? He hated it.

Up ahead on the mountainside he saw a variety of cave openings. A glimmer of hope sparked up inside his otherwise damp and cold chest. If he could reach them, perhaps he could find one large enough for him to crawl inside to wait out the storm. Determined to try this, he set out towards the caves, slipping continually on wet rocks and cursing his own stupidity.

Cult didn't know why but something caught her eye in the pouring rain that was outside. First it was just strange noises that sounded like...Talking? Naah couldn't be! No one in their right mind came up here. With a smirk Cult pressed her ears against her head and closed her eyes trying to go to sleep. She lifted her head up quickly when dammit she heard it again! She angrily looked out of the mouth of her cave out at the mountain, Looking for maybe a strange animal that was making such a troublesome noise. It was small but she could see something moving out there, from the looks of it whatever it was was coming up here. Now Cult couldn't let anyone just be walking around her mountain like that, even more so with the thing being so close to her home.

With a huff Cult lifted her large brownish body from the ground. Damn the spirits she would have to go out there. She eyed the pouring rain with defeat before storming out there all at once. She gave a gasp of shock the water was horribly cold! It seemed to pour buckets on her and in just a few short seconds she was just soaking wet. Her once super curly tail was now flat and dragged on the ground. Her thick pure ink black mane was pressed firmly onto her back, chest, and face. Even her wings were soaked! She felt them weigh down with each of her feathers soaking up water and becoming heavy. Oh what ever was out there better have a good reason for daring to be so stupid to come up in this weather and make her get so soaked.

She slid down the mountain sideways. Unlike the day in the apple grove Cult was quite graceful on the mountain side and could get up and down it with ease. It helped that maybe she knew what worn paths to take. She stopped herself over a cliff, It was over by whatever was coming up and it was a good spot where she could rest and try to figure out what was coming up to her. Her bright sea green eyes scanned the area before locking on the only moving thing besides the pouring rain. Well from what she could see it was a soquili no doubt, and she couldn't see any bat wings or a pelt of an animal over the said soquili. But anything other then that Cult still couldn't tell in such horrible weather. Still she growled and lifted her powerful and large ash gray wings up and kicked off the cliff into the sky.

It didn't take her long to swoop down to where the other soquili was climbing. Oh boy this b*****d was in for it now! Bloody daft b*****d. "HEY! WHAT IN ALL OF SPIRITS NAMES DO YO-" Thats when Cult stopped. She stared in shock and a mix of horror at the stallion before dropping right out of the sky. It couldn't be... Couldn't be that stallion she bumped into in the apple grove. HA! No way. Then she toke a few steps. By the gods. IT WAS HIM! Cult with wide eyes, her mouth dropped. "What in all ******** are....you doing here!? I...Oh my god! You're a stalker aren't you!? Look I'm sorry buddy but I am NOT looking for some weird thing going on like that... So..Um leave?"

Seamus hated everything at the moment. He hated the rain and he hated the mountain and he hated the rocks and he hated himself and he hated that shrub over there. Everything. He lurched forward, trying to find footing on the mountainside, but a patch of loose shale slid out from under him and he went careening back down several feet. He cursed aloud and tried again.

Suddenly the air was full of booming voice and huge shadows. For a moment, Seamus looked around wildly. There was rain in his eyes, and all he could see was grey mountain and grey cloud. Everything was the same color! Then, to his horror, part of the grey-brown clouds detached itself and was falling towards him. All he saw was huge wings, and for a split second he thought "oh no, this is it--it's a kalona and I'm about to be eaten. Today sucks."

Then it'd landed a few feet away and--oh my gods, was it really...? It was that mare! The one that had sent him hooves-over-haunches that one time in the apple orchard! And here she was, with all the righteous indignation of an avenging Fury. He was flabbergasted. Wait.

Wait just a second.

Stalker?

He'd never...

"Look, lady," he said, somewhat more sharply than he'd intended, "I am not stalking you. I am wet and cold and lost, and I don't want to be on this godsforsaken mountain any more than you seem to want me here. I was just trying to get to a cave or something, but if you would be so kind as to just show me the way back down to, I don't know, some other form of shelter, fine by me! I'll be outta your hair no problem!"

Oh crap, was he half-snarling? Some small part of him recognized that he was being really ******** rude, even though he was pretty miserable at the moment. Halfheartedly, he tacked on an awkward "Uh. Sorry. Bad day."

Cult was pissed. Like really pissed. He came up here her home and insulted her!? BAH! Please! "Well I'm sooo sorry! What the ******** should I think!? Some guy show up at my home who I had a brief run in with in the pouring rain, and I should just ******** welcome you with open arms!? Tell me about crappy day! I wasn't the one who got a bug up his a** to go climbing up a very steep mountain!" She stopped herself when she heard him say sorry. With that moment she had realized what she had been doing and gods saying! Wow she hadn't been that angry at someone in years.

Thats when Cult noticed that her wings it her little fit had unfolded and fanned out to their full range something that she only did in anger, her wet feathers clumping in the rain her wings looked mostly bare. A sigh passed through her dark lips as she folded her wings tightly to her side. It seemed that both of them were now having a shitty day, and well this rain brought out the worst in them. "I'm sorry dude. I shouldn't have said that." She paused thinking of a way to make it up to the poor dude who was already lost and cold, then a light bulb went off with her head and with a smiled she nodded her head. "Look. In till this rain passes if you want you can stay with me? Afterwards I'll...I'll show you the way down so you won't get yourself killed." Even Cult knew someone is as much of a pickle as this stallion was in right now wouldn't say no to the offer in less he was utterly daft. "I have...Um food and water. Plus it's nice a dry up in my cave."

Seamus's eyes had gone as wide as moons. He felt so impossibly small--a sensation he was rather unaccustomed to, honestly--as the mare raged at him, her wings flung out and bristling. Even being soaked to the skin just made her look more frightening: he wholly and truly believed she meant business.

"I--I--" he tried to interject, but the words seemed to fail him.

Then something shifted in the mood, and the huge mare seemed to deflate somehow. And when she offered him shelter? Oh, she pretty much became the beautiful creature in the entire world. Forget all that terrifying business--he could've kissed her.

Shifting uncomfortably on his hooves and keenly aware that every hair on his body was plastered down into stiff bristles, he wasted no time at all in replying, "No, it's okay. It's your home, and I never meant to trespass. Just...got lost, I guess. Y'know, in that way that idiots sometimes get. But, uh, I'd love to stay with you. Just for a bit, I mean. Until the rain stops. It's getting to the point that I can barely feel my own ears for how cold I am!"

As if to prove his point, Seamus flicked his ears. Little droplets of water went sailing off, lost in the downpour. He frowned to himself. Honestly, this weather blew.

He smiled hesitantly at the mare again. "I really appreciate the offer. I probably look like a half-drowned weasel."

She smiled warmly at the brown stallion. How'd she know he's wasn't gonna say no to her offer? "Don't worry about it dude. I understand that ya know s**t happens. I'm sorry I got so angry, I shouldn't have." Her own ears dropped back at the comment. "Oh you poor thing. C'mon I know the easy way up just follow me." She did turn around and toke a few of her large strides when he spoke up again. It was wrong but she had to laugh at his comment, and when she craned her neck back she smiled at him. "Yeah. Well anyone out in this kind of rain looks like a half-drowned weasel, so you're okay."

Cult flipped her head back trying to get her dripping wet hair that was plastered to her face out of her eyes so she could see. Cult knew where the trail was but she couldn't bloody see it because off all this stupid hair. Ugh! This is why she hated rain in less she was inside, it was just a pain in the rear to be out in it. But still she pushed through and kept climbing up the steep mountain, turning her head around every once and a while to make sure the lost stallion was keeping up.

It wasn't long till she was in the mouth of her nice warm and DRY cave. Oh gods home never looked so good. She didn't wait for him as she stepped inside, shaking her large body off to get as much water as she could off of her. She opened up her wings and shook them lightly too, some of her long feathers falling out and falling onto the cave floor. Which made Cult sighed before kicking them into the rain. Yeah she was just a little OCD about keeping her lost feathers out of where she was living.

Seamus skittered up the hillside, trying to keep up with the mare's long strides. She certainly seemed familiar with the terrain, and he offered up a silent prayer of thanks. When she led him up a narrow pass, he misstepped just slightly and felt part of the mountain give way beneath his hoof. With a little thrill of terror, he realized without the mare acting as guide, he might've inadvertently blundered right into the treacherous patch and been sent hurtling down. Not for the first time, he cursed his own stupidity. "Adventure," ha.

As for the mare? She was making this seem so easy! Seamus felt his haunches burn as he attempted a huge leap that she'd basically just walked up. He was not cut out for this mountain living. Then, as he watched, she basically disappeared into a hole in the mountain he hadn't even noticed before.

He scrambled up to where the mare had vanished and found himself peering into the mouth of a medium-sized cave. He blinked in surprise as a few feather flipped past him and instantly plastered themselves to the wet stone outside. "Um," he said, still standing outside, afraid to step in. "Don't--don't you need those?"

Cult was slightly shocked when the stallion's voice rang through out the cave. She had gone into the darkest part of the cave to fetch two blankets that a two legger had made for her when she visited the village. To be honest it shocked her a bit that he would ask such a question, since Cult had been living with feathers falling out all the time she was use to them flying around. "No! Don't worry 'bout it! They do that all the time." She shouted out as Cult grabbed the last heavy and warm blanket before throwing it on top of her back. Mmm. She could already feel herself warming up already.

Cult was just about to where the mystery stallion was when a shiny red apple caught her eye. Cult remembered how he seemed to really like them and well spirits knows he must be hungry so she grabbed one of the still ripe apples from her stash and held it tight in her mouth as she trotted the rest of the way back up to the mouth of her cave.

Cult almost dropped the apple from her mouth when she saw him still standing out in the rain. Well she kinda did in fact as she quickly set everything she had down. "What in spirits are you still doing out there. Get in here!" She almost shouted as Cult rushed over to the freezing stallion and pushed him in with one of her large wings. "Geez boy. I said you could stay! And you stand out there like a turkey in the rain."

"Oomph," Seamus said oh-so-eloquently as a strong wing wrapped itself around him and pulled him forward. Being inside was a marked difference to being outside. It was warm in here, and in the contrast Seamus felt for the first time just how cold he'd truly been. He was gripped with shivers. "I-I-I'm n-not a t-turkey," he retorted. He'd meant to go for "sassy," but it came out more "pathetic."

He took a look around. It was a good size in here, but homey. Nearby, on the ground, was a blanket like the one the mare herself was wearing, and on top of it an apple. His stomach rumbled angrily, but he ignored it. "You l-live here?" he asked the mare, then realized what a dumb question that was. "I mean, you said this was 'h-home,' so yeah, o-obviously you live here. L-let me try again. 'Oh, what a nice home! H-how did you come to live in such a spot?'" He grinned, a little lopsidedly. "That a b-better way to ask?"

He stood near the entrance and started to shake some of the water out of his coat, trying his hardest not to get the mare of any of her belongings wet. His tail felt like it weighed a ton! Worst storm ever. "Th-thanks again, by the way," he added, realizing just how grateful he was to be out of that torrential rain.

Cult rolled her bright eyes at him. "If the shoe fits." She retorted as Cult walked over to the blanket and with a gentle push of her nose she got the apple off of the top. Feeding him could come later for now he needed to warm up or spirits knows he'll most likely freeze to death. Picking the heavy blanket in her mouth she silently dragged it over to the stallion before throwing it on top of him. Even if she didn't want to Cult had to crack a soft smile at the stallion, only because well...the blanket was made for her large body and he looked silly with such a huge piece of cloth flung onto his back. "You know you're right. You aren't a turkey. Turkeys kill themselves in the rain you just get lost in it."

She watched with interest as he looked around her home. Cult had to wonder just what was going through his mind at the moment. She frowned at his question. Did she live here? Nooo. She just randomly claims spots as her own and stuffs crap in it before moving on. Cult paused with a raised eyebrow as she listened to him. This stallion was sure giddy and tongue tied, Cult couldn't tell if it was simply the cold or what. She let out a hearty chuckle before shaking her head lightly at the stallion. "I moved here because it's quiet up here. After long days of traveling it's nice to come back to a place where you can be alone and not have to worry about people bugging you." She stopped and giggled slightly. "Well most of the time anyways."

Cult saw him trying to shake some of the water that was dripping off of him off a natural reflex kicked in when she saw this because Cult quickly lifted one of her wings to her face to block the mini rain storm heading her way. Cult was shocked that none got through her still horribly wet wings. It was kinda nice how careful the stallion was not to get that much water on everything. "It's nothing dude. What kind of a person would I be to leave you standing out there in the rain? A horrible one thats what."

Cult noticed the forgotten apple from the corner of her eye. Smirking she dipped her head down and nosed it a bit before pushing it over to the stallion. "Here. You should eat, spirits knows you must be hungry!"
PostPosted: Wed May 05, 2010 2:15 pm

He squawked in surprise as the mare suddenly threw a blanket over his back, but then delicious warmth began to spread through his body. He practically melted right then and there. But at her words, Seamus flushed a dull pink and hoped his dark coat and the muted light in the cave hid it. "I didn't mean to get lost! Besides," he added, a bit of a grumble entering his voice, "it's only lost if you're trying to get someplace specific. If you're not, it's just adventuring. But now you're stuck with me, because if you think I'm going back out in that"--he flicked his nose towards the entrance of the cave, when rain was still spitting down angrily--"you're crazy! You'll just have to live with me bugging you for the time being." He grinned, taking a chance she wouldn't find him insufferable and kick his hide straight back out into the storm.

His words cut short when she nudged the apple over towards him, though. That sharp pain in his midsection flared back up with a vengeance. He hadn't eaten since...that morning, perhaps? And it had been a pretty exhausting day, what with the climbing of the mountain and the getting caught in storms and whatnot. He hesitated for maaaaybe two seconds before dipping his head to snag the apple. He bit it in half quickly, crunching his way through one section of it. It was amazing, obviously gathered in its prime not too long before. Any food on an empty stomach would've been good enough for him, but for such a treat? He glanced up at the mare and made sure he swallowed properly before gushing, "Oh my gods, thank you so much. You are too kind, seriously. Nothing lacking here at Chez...uh."

Seamus stopped dead. This entire time, he'd never caught her name. Not even once. And he'd never asked! The hell, self?, he wondered. "Wait. Who are you?"

A smile broke out on her face at the loud squawk that came from the stallion. What and interesting noise to come from a horse! And here Cult was the one with wings like a bird resting on her back. It was lucky for the stallion that he dim light that shined through the opening didn't show his dull pink color, spirits knows Cult would have teased him on it.

"Ah. Thats what you think!" She let a wide grin play on her face as flicked her curly ink black tail. "You can get lost why just walking around looking at stuff. If you don't know where you are or how to get home, you're lost." And boy did Cult know that! She'd been lost so many times in her lifetime that it wasn't funny anymore. "I'm stuck with you eh? I don't know dude I'm bigger then you, I'm sure if I really wanted to kick you out of my home you'd be out in the rain in no second flat."

She glanced over to him with a smile in her eyes as Cult fix'd her blanket over her, giving him some space why he was eating. She looked back up when he finally spoke up again after gulping down the apple she gave him. She nodded before Cult herself spoke up again. "Don't worry about it. It's the least I can do since I'm "stuck with you."

Cult stared at him strangely. Her head tilted to the side just a tiny bit. "W-Who am I? I'm Cult." But then she realized that she didn't know him. "Who are you!?"
