Drake sighed, standing on the docks to the boat which was scheduled to take off in just a few moments. It wasn't a large ship, but with three bunks for sleeping and a makeshift kitchen it was one of the few ships still running private services to the north; considering this was the season everyone was going south to warmer tropical weather.
"Drake...I can't wait any longer. I have a schedual to meet...." The captain, a large burly fox bigger than Drake called from the captain's deck.
"I know, Rune....I guess I was just hoping it wouldn't be a solo like the other years." Scratching his head out of habit the male set to work untying the ship from the deck....purposely taking his time to give En a few more minutes to show.
"Oh? You met someone here, and you thought they'd be willing to come north in the summer?" Rune howled in laughter, shaking his head. You did book a little late there buddy, maybe the heat's already frying your brain...."

Gathering up the things she spilled when she tripped, En griped to herself. "C'mon! You have been waiting all this time and now you're fumbling? Daddy would not be happy at your lack of coordination!" Se finally finished scooping everything back up into her back and slings it back once more.
'Almost to the dock where I had promised to meet Drake. Almost.. almost.. almoooooooooost. THERE! I see it!' And there it was, the small boat Drake had told her about when they were making their plans. She had half expected them to be swimming to the north, but was very grateful it wasn't so.
"DRAKE! DRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAKE!" She shouted as she spotted him. Running with all her might she finally made it next to him. "I made it!" Panting, she dropped her bag to the ground and flopped down herself. Wanting to say something to him, but being out of breath, she held up a finger.. wanting just one minute to catch her breath.

"Well....I guess this is it." Drake sighed and turned to get on the boat when his ears snapped up at the sound of his name. Immediately he turned and looked to see En running down to the docks as he couldn't help the grin which spread over his beak. "En!" He called, waving a paw excitedly; catching the captain mutter something along the lines of 'Well i'll be....'
Drake wished he could have given her some time to rest but already they were a few minutes behind. Picking up her bag and tossing it to one of the ship hands he smiled and picked the vixen up as well; stepping onto the boat.
"All accounted for, Rune! Lets hit the wake!"
Setting her down on one of the seats to the side of the boat for observing and socializing, he sat down beside her and tilted his head as he rested his elbows on his legs. "You made it! I was starting to wonder if you got permission or not....." He said softly as the boat kicked into drive and pulled out from the small docks and out to sea where with a turn and putting it to a steady cruising speed; they were officially off to the north.

Relieved that she was being carried instead of having to walk, she let out a sigh, then wondered how in the world Drake was managing to carry her with her armor on. En gave a little laugh at the thought.
She sat down in the seat, happily for sure, and caught her breath. "Sorry for running late. Everything that could go wrong... did." En took in a deep breath and let it out slowly. In an attempt so seem like she didn't catch the last part, she just kept talking. "Man.. This sea air is wonderful! Smells so fresh and yummy!"
Her eyes looked out to the horizon and she was instantly taken with the sea. "I didn't think it would look this beautiful."

As much as he would have loved to explain he'd been working out for the journey in the past time apart, now was not the time nor place. Besides, they had a good three months at least to chat and talk about anything....and this was only ten minutes into the journey.
"Go wrong? What do you mean?" A suspicious look crossed his features as he was hoping she did the one thing he'd asked of her. He'd dealt with angry Spartans before and like hell he wanted to do that again, especially ones who had thousands of miles to get even more pissed off trying to find them.
However, a small smile did graze across his beak while he too looked out over the vast ocean; the noon sun hanging overhead. "Just wait till sunset, you'll really be amazed En." Although he'd grown up around and in the sea, there was still never a day that passed where he didn't fall in love with it all over again. "We could do some fishing later too, if you like. Have some fresh seafood for dinner?"

"Pssssssssh..." En waved her paw, playing it off like it was nothing. She then rambled off a list of things like it was no big deal, her paw waving as she talked. "Oh nothing to fret about Drake. Just things like my alarm not going off, not being able to find some stuff, my parents not being exactly complaint, dropping my bag and everything spilling on my way here, having to run the entire way because I missed my ride... You know.. things like that."
She noticed his smile as he looked out to the ocean too... it made her smile all the more. "I'd love to go fishing Drake~ It'll be my first time doing that too!" She got all excited.
This trip was about many firsts for her; her first boat ride, her first trip, her first fling with Drake... at least she hoped. She was so ready to take on many things, try everything, and maybe get a little naughty at some point on their trip up north. Her face blushed a bit as she thought that and she giggled like a giddy little girl.

"You could catch some pretty big fish, its more interesting when you fish the sea rather than the lak-" Wait now. What was that about her parents? Not compliant? Turning his gaze back to the sexy as sin vixen beside him his face turned into a serious look, reaching out to take her paw in his own.
"Entrance......please.....please tell me they gave you the okay to come, and you actually told them...." Already he could feel that sick knot in his guy twist and turn, he couldn't do it again, not to lose an affection like this to a spartan; even if it would be her father.
He searched her eyes for answers, clearly written on his face that this was a matter he wasn't about to let slide. He did feel bad for her turn of events getting to the boat, and now him giving her a bit of grief about his uncertainty.....yet it would be something that wouldn't get off his mind till he knew the answer.

En went wide-eyed as he took her paw in his, wondering what he was going to say. Her heart pounded as her thoughts raced... would it be something totally roman.... Her ears pinned back after he pleaded with her... her answer wasn't going to be bad, but she didn't think he'd like it much either.
"Well ummm... About that." Her eyes turned away from his "Well it's not that I didn't tell them.. I did, but Mommy wasn't thrilled and I left before Daddy could say something." Her brow furled as she waited for a scolding of some sort, cringing a bit.
Well there goes my romance theory... Darn it! She let of a flustered huff and pursed her lips.

Oh s**t.... How wonderful, her parents most likely didn't approve of her journey; and unless they were planning to follow them he'd have some explaining to do when they returned from migration. Feeling the feathers on the back of his next have been raised since the realization, he turned to indeed scold but when he saw her expression.....something changed.
There really was nothing he could do about it now.
He could spend the time worrying and complaining, fretting over something that was getting further and further out of his control like the boat away from shore.
Here was his first journey not solo, and with a vixen he'd been thinking about non stop since they met....and here he was acting like her father or something. Shaking his head to rattle his brain back into a working order, he smiled warmly and pushed those thoughts aside. He wasn't about to spend his time in vain.
With paw still in paw, he raised it up and nibbled his beak from her wrist to the nape of her neck with a low chuckle. "Well.....I guess we'll just have to deal with it when we get back."

She felt terrible. The one thing he asked her to do was only half-assed. She sighed a heavy sigh and peered up at him... feeling like one of those dog creatures after they got scolded, tail between their legs and whimpering.
She watched him as he thought about things, wondering if he would end up being mad at her... she couldn't live with that if he did.
Surprised as he softened up and nibbled at her, she giggled and scrunched her neck in. It tickled so much in the best way. En's ears perked back up as he said it would be okay and she threw her arms around him, hugging him tightly.
"Oh thank you Drake! I can't promise I'll be an angel, but just know I'm really glad to be here with you!" She tightened her squeeze on him. What's this? She felts his arms and grinned. Somebody's been working out~ I wonder what else he's been doing while he was waiting for me... En giggles to herself, then gives him a little peck on his neck.

This was how it was supposed to be, just him, her and the wide open seas. The spray dewing on his fur and feathers from the splash of the waves and the bright sun overhead...it didn't really seem like migration anymore though; moreso a much needed vacation. Although he'd never be able to go anywhere tropical....it seemed like En understood that or she probably wouldn't be currently hanging from his neck.
Smiling towards the kiss, a splash caught his ear as he glanced over and saw dolphins leaping from the water off in the near distance in stride with the boat. "En...look." He pointed, waiting to see her reaction as with a shift of his body he turned to have her half on and in his lap sitting on the bench with his one leg up on the seat. "There are amazing Orca's up where we're going....not so fun to swim with but great to look at. They're about ten times these Dolphin's size."
Wrapping one arm around her waist, he used the other to prop against the side of the boat. "....Besides...if I wanted an angel don't you think I would have gotten one? You're just fine exactly they way you are." Grinning he rested his chin on her shoulder; gazing out to the sea.

"I'm so excited about this Drake! Thank you for letting me come!" Her tail wagged all on it's own... she was just too excited. Everything was beautiful, the sea was so much more amazing than she thought it would be. Snuggling up to Drake she sighed contently.
Picking up on the splash too, her ears flickered. Her eyes followed his gaze and widened. "Oh!" Her face lit up, thrilled at seeing something so amazing. Her body shifted with his and she adjusted herself to get comfortable. "They're so cool Drake! Dolphins.. right?" Giggles started pouring out as she enjoyed watching them. "Orcas... Killer Whales, yes?" Double checking because she's not 100% on sea creatures.
Leaning into him a bit as they watched the dolphins. A little chuckle escaped. "Well I see how it is.. I'm not an angel huh?" She pokes him teasingly. "So how long is the trip.. and when do we eat?! I'm starving!"

"You're welcome, En. I'm ecstatic you're willing to come with me." Drake assured, pulling her a little tighter with his arm and enjoyed her snuggles; watching her excitement with the trip and marine life which splashed from the water. "Yup, Dolphins and Killer Whales. You'll learn them soon, but not face to face....unfortunately we're similar in size to a lot of their prey." a small grimace stretched on his face momentarily, he'd been there once and definitely didn't want to recreate the encounter.
Barely able to conceal a snort of laughter, he nibbled down her spine with a chuckle. "No, no you're not. Yet that's how I like him, I can't say I've ever been the tea and crumpets and harps kinda guy....if that's what they do that is. Yet Food!"
Slipping out from behind/under the vixen, the male navigated the ship like he lived there; opening the latch to a compartment under the deck to pull out trailing rods and a harpoon. "Since we're going a little fast for a line just yet; i'm going to see if I can harpoon something for a snack. Once we get a little further up the coastline we'll come to an area where we have to drop our speed for about an hour; whale migration path and all. We'll fish there." He spoke as he looped and tied the rope onto the bottom of the harpoon. He set the rods off to the side for the time being, as he tied the other end of the rope to the side of the boat and propped his one leg onto the seat with harpoon raised and ready to strike.
"Keep a lookout for any shadows in the water, especially a bunch of them. Means a school of fish." He grinned, watching the passing waters like a hawk.

"Why wouldn't I come? I didn't want to get left behind." She gave him some big ol puppy eyes and a pout. Her lip quivered as she played up the act. Her voice went down to a very child-like tone and got really quite. "I woulda been very sad wiffout chu." She laughed and looked back to the water. "The size of their food huh? I'll pass on being a snack thanks!"
Laughs came bubbling out as he nibbled at her. It tickled a lot and she almost couldn't stand it. "DRAAAAAAAAAAAAAKE! That tickles!" Her paws flailed at him a bit, playfully, in retaliation. "You stop that right now mister!" She pawed at his beak and grinned.
She sat and watched him as he started getting stuff together. Since she had never been on a boat, more or less fishing, she was clueless as to what he was doing. The harpoons were familiar though. She had seen some other Spartans use them in training. "So we're going fishing later then huh?~ Cool!" Her lips tucked in as she watched him get himself situated with his stance, trying her best not to laugh. It reminded her of a Captain Morgan's commercial or something along those lines and she just found it funny. A couple small, stifled giggles made their way out, but she got it under control.
Turning around, she watched the water with him, hoping to spot some fish to catch. Her stomach was growling and she needed food!

With the way En had been swooning and doting over him, well if there was a barrel of rum he'd certainly strike the pose; maybe even buy a captain's hat. Yet his beloved Pebble was hungry and his entire concentration was enlisted to watching the waiter, poised, waiting....like a panther. Yes. A big, masculine and hunky panther.
It was then he spotted it, a looming back shadow in the depths of the water as his arm reared back, muscles tensing before with a mighty swing down he sent the barb sailing down into the abyss. Looping the other end of the rope more securely around his wrist he held strong when the rope finally quivered and went taught as it hit its mark.
"Bingo! We're having Fish tonight babe!" Curiously he wondered what he'd gotten as he began to pull on the rope; a curious look coming over his face as the rope went slack for a moment. "What the hell...." He whispered, that is, untill a swordfish shot out of the water and if his feathers could pale on his face; he would have been white as a ghost.
"s**t s**t s**t!" Immediately he tried to take the rope windings off his wrist but he was alas a little too late; since once that fish had landed back in the water he took off.....and sent Drake overboard with him and into the water.
