After an hour or two of silence in the shop, Switch decided it would be safe to call the Marketplace to get general prices on a few items she had found in the shop. With her inventory book open in front of her and scrap papers scattered on her large oak desk, the blue haired woman picked up the phone and dialed the Marketplace.
...And was promptly put on hold.
"Ooof course." Switch murmured, tilting her head to trap the phone against her shoulder, listening to the horrible hold music while doodling in the margins of the paper in front of her.

Wei sauntered and ate a lifted apple down a street in Durem, it was just a regular day, free of cares when she stopped in front of a second hand store. She tried to read the sign but the only symbol she understood was the "i". She shrugged and rushed to pushed the door open, there were things in side that could potentially be hers. Walking in with the apple in her mouth and half eaten she looked up and saw a blue haired lady sitting behind a desk. She had something attached to her ear and shoulder, she had seen them before and knew that's when humans tended to be distracted the most. This was her chance to slip in and take something.

Sadly, the little shop lifter's chance was taken the moment the door was opened. The building was old and tended to announce it's annoyances to anyone who would listen; opening the front door was one such annoyance, and it whined and creaked as it opened, naturally catching Switch's attention.
"Well hello there! My name is Switch, if you need any help just ask." This person certainly looked young...not that she was a good judge of character anymore. Gaia tended to change the outlook of ages really fast! As much as she wanted to pay attention to the little customer, someone from the marketplace just picked up the phone, asking her what she needed in a mildly bored but irritated voice.

The door opened too loudly, Damn it, a word she picked up from the locals to use when something didn't go there way. The lady perked up and took enough notice of her to introduce herself, she'd have to do the same, she may be a thief but she wasn't rude. "Hi, my name's Wei," she said with a sigh, and dashed around one of the stacks whispering an "okay."
Wei's eye's wided as she looked around, there were tons human stuff, more than she'd seen in any other store. She look about making sure she wasn't being watched, her paw stuck out and grabbed a yellow object. It was a feather, she'd seen those before, and had collected them without going into stores. She thought about putting it down and taking something else, but for some reason that didn't seem right. Before meandering to the front Wei slid the feather between the folds in her wrap and put her apple core on the shelf in the feather's stead.

"Nice to meet you." Switch managed to get in before the Marketplace worker demanded her attention. The blue haired shop keep prattled on about various items she had no listings for, putting what the clerk said on the loose sheets of paper as opposed to her book.
When Wei touched the feather, Switch felt that familiar little pull at the back of her mind; apparently something wanted Wei as it's Guardian! It was strange, but it's what the item wanted, and questioning it would be like questioning the shop. Who was she to question the 'wisdom' this bratty placed possessed? Sighing to herself, she didn't get the chance to say anything to Wei about just taking the item; she was sure that the curious little thing would bring the feather to her attention sooner or later, it always happened that way.
Instead, she kept chattering at the Marketplace clerk.

Wei looked up at Switch, she seemed busy now. Pursing her lips before exclaiming in her most haughty voice "There was nothing here I wanted, I'll be back later when you can get better stuff." and huffed out the door.
Once she was clear of the shop the largest grin appeared on her face and scrambled 'home'

Switch started a bit when Wei spoke to her, turning to stare in surprise at the seemingly younger girl. Wait, nothing she wanted? She'll be back later? But...that feather! Too confused to say anything right away, she just watched the haughty girl leave.
...What just happened?
Concentrating hard, she understood that the shop was strangely peaceful. Obviously the item in question was no longer within the shop. That meant...
"...What a little thief!" She groaned with a laugh, lightly smacking her hand onto her own face. Oh well, it ended up free, a little too easily!
