If you could have ONE elemental power, what would it be and why? If it's from an Anime, post it (for reference) and maybe a YouTube of it in action.
For me it would be electrical pulse, this includes lightning and electricity. From Sailor Moon, Jupiter and Uranus, and for Naruto Sasuke.

I say, POWER OVER THE SKY AND WIND!!! due to my post as the Sapphire Knight, Guardian of the Sky and Air, I actually realize how far the boundaries go.

...*slight smile* Light control. Extremely useful stuff, this is. It can effectively be used to do nearly anything. Assuming we're talking actual ELEMENTALS here, meaning the person is physically MADE of the stuff. [*cough/Like Lucis here./cough*]

You may think my clones and disappearing acts border light control too, but since sky surrounds everything, I can manipulate the air to bend the light so you see my illusion.

Oh, I don't mind it at all. Lucis' powers tend to bleed over into other domains as well. And she tends to warp the wind patterns to suit her purposes when flying. Just out of convenience for herself.

The Sky is the pathway to all elements, because if a person controlling water brings it into the air, the sky goes, HA STUPID, NOW I OWN DAT! fire needs oxygen to survive, so bye-bye oxygen, and earth, I just need to fly to avoid it.

For me, it very much depends on which elemental set is being discussed, and the level of control involved.

I've always liked the wind power. Probably from watching cartoons growing up. Anyways my anime characters are Sailor Uranus, SuperMan and Linka from Captain Planet (those are the only ones that I know that can fly sweatdrop ).

Sailor Infinity I'm with terra on the ability to control the sky and wind, I would love to be able to fly heart Actually, wind would be terrible for flying, unless you fancy causing severe property damage and injuries to yourself and others.

Water Bending like in Avatar. That way, if I get good enough in it, I could blood bend. That would rock.

Earth or Air.
Earth because I'd have the entire FREAKING PLANET as my weapon.
Air because I could use the very air you breathe against you.

I can do one better, I think.
Gravity.
Not only would it permit flight without the destruction and injuries you'd get using the wind to blow yourself from place to place, but you could literally crush entire cities. And if you were feeling really sadistic, you could make people implode.

Even though my fav element is ice, I'd probably go with wind.
If you can make yourself lighter than wind, you can fly/float, and at the very least make yourself faster. I have dreams every so often of riding on the wind currents.
You can also make it heavier/denser, creating a sorta graviga attack.
Controlling air controls breathing, to hinder (asphyxiate), or to help (like breathing underwater, or possibly even in space if you had an air bubble pocket).
And all that is without considering its destructive forces like tornadoes and downdrafts, or its effects on other elements (like spreading fire, churning ocean waves, etc.). True, it does seem weaker against the earth element, but it has a lot more freedom to do as it likes.
