Switch groaned in content, stretching her arms over her head before dropping her arms to scrub her fingers through her bright blue hair. It was near the end of her day at the shop, and she couldn't wait to go home to Kale and her boys! Though home was considerably louder and a lot more stressful, she preferred it over being at work, in a shop that for all intents and purposes her her captive. Everything she had to do had already been done with the exception of the final totals for the day...but she had to lock up for that.
So all she had to do was sit back behind her giant oak desk, her arms folded behind her head, and just waited for the time to pass by.

Last minute customers. Everyone hates them, but they exist, whether they mean to be a pain or not.
One such customer, Donovan Hart, was out looking for spare parts for one of many small projects he had going in his garage. Most of the day had been spent searching, and he was having very little luck. This mechanic and wanna-be inventor eventually found himself outside what looked to be a second hand shop.
"Gold mine." He murmured to himself. The lanky 20 year old, dressed in his grungy coveralls, entered the store and looked around. He wasn't sure why, but something about this place was drawing him in. He looked over at the woman tending the shop and smirked confidently.
A chic? That must be what drew me in!
"Evenin' gorgeous." He said slyly as he made his way past the counter.
All flirting aside, he still felt that tugging, like something in this shop was waiting for him. "Got anything new and exciting in here?"

Switch startled a little bit when the door opened, sitting up a little straighter and bringing her hands down from her head to rest on her desk. Green eyes stared at the man, looking away with a bit of a roll with a comment. Oh great. One of them. Wonderful.
"Hello." She said quickly, only because it was polite. Blowing at a bit of her bangs, she leaned forward and rested her cheek in the palm of her hand. "Only always. Our inventory changes a lot, maybe you should take a look?" And go away, she finished mentally.

Well now, this chic sure was feisty. Only made it more fun. "You got a name, babe?" He asked as he walked further into the store, following his instincts to whatever was calling to him. It must be the mechanic in him, sensing the perfect part, he thought.
What could it be? A battery? Wiring? Motherboard?
It was then he happened upon something very green. And very not a mechanical part. A change purse made to look like a cartoon frog. He supposed it was kind of... cute? Not his thing at all. Wallets were all he needed, this was way too bulky and girly.
That nagging feeling wouldn't leave him. He wouldn't admit it out loud or to anyone, but he wanted this purse.
Donovan crossed his arms, looking from the purse then to everything else and back again. Nothing in this store appealed to him except this purse.
Donovan finally gave in, picking up the little thing and looking at it. He opened up, chuckling at the fact it was made to look like the inside of the frog's mouth. How cute.
The man walked back tot he counter, setting the item down on the table. "I'll get this. I didn't find what I was looking for, but maybe I can give this to a girl as a present or something." He said to the blue haired woman, ruffling his hair a bit, trying to act nonchalant. Truth be told? That purse was SO his.

"I do." Switch confirmed, an uninterested gaze following the lech until he was out of her sight and far into the messy shelves. Geez, now she couldn't wait to get home to Kale! Huming to herself, she lifted her free hand to stare at her nails; they weren't very interesting, in fact there was nothing special about them at all...but at least she didn't have to look at where he had disappeared to anymore.
The moment Donovan touched that little purse, Switch felt the connection there; some poor thing had decided that he or she wanted that...person as a Guardian. Groaning inwardly, Switch smacked her palm against her forehead. Wonderful. Another lech with a kid. Her track record was turning out beautifully.
He returned to the counter after she had put her hand down, and she looked at the purse, then up at the man. "How about...I'll give that to you for free, if you promise not to call me 'babe' again." She offered, trying to sound obnoxiously sweet.

Fine. He'd find out her name on his own somehow. A challenge!
Free? For real? And hey, she was obviously faking sweet, but it didn't mean he didn't like it. Donovan smirked again, leaning his elbow on the counter and tilting his head. "You give all your customers this kind of service, or am I just one of the lucky ones?" He asked slyly.
He picked up the purse again, tossing it in the air and catching it with one hand. "Deal, ladyface." See? He didn't call her babe. Totally legal. The man stashed the strange item in his pocket and made his way to the door, opening it and turning to face her again with a wave. "Later~."
He left the shop, a spring in his step, and made his way home. What a good ending to the day. What could go wrong?

"You're just lucky." Switch replied evenly, rolling her eyes at him and his insistance of being...well himself, apparently. She waved at him as he left, her cheek still resting in the palm of her hand. The blue haired woman watched him until he was gone.
"Poor Kid." She sighed, getting up to close up the shop.
