Personality
If there is one thing that can be said about Alan, it is that he is someone who will never give up in the face of adversity. When faced with a problem that prevents him from moving forward, he'll meet it with a courage one wouldn't expect. It doesn't matter what he faces, he'll face it head-on without fear. He doesn't need to rely on others, not that he isn't capable of doing so. You'll find he has an unyielding loyalty to those he does choose to rely on. And if he sees something he wants, he'll see it through to the end no matter what obstacles he faces.

The only problem with this is that it's rare for him to see something he doesn't want. Alan is notoriously material-oriented, and always seems to be eying something. It doesn't matter if it's that beautiful antique revolver up for auction or that pretty little Commoner at table four. He wants it all, and he has the tenacity to get it too. This is something that sometimes goes to his head, and it isn't uncommon for him to get cocky about such things. He knows he's awesome, and he things everyone else should know it too.

Even with these flaws, it's hard to deny that Alan is a great person to have on your side. He's more than willing to put his own abilities towards getting something nice for his friends, and is known for extensively spoiling his lovers. He isn't one to betray his loyalties easily, and will make it known right off the bat if he intends for a relationship to be a one-night thing.

History
For the most part, Alan's early like was dreadfully uneventful. He was born to loving, old-fashioned parents in the Lower-Middle Class, and was an only child. He grew up surrounded by as much love as a child could ever need, but he never did get all the toys he eyed. Such was the curse of being born to parents who weren't swimming in money.

He grew up being taught everything his parents thought appropriate, including how to be a proper gentleman. He never really cared for the stuffiness of formality that they insisted on teaching him, and it wasn't uncommon for him to be scolded for neglecting to use his manners. It was a well-known fact that he could be perfectly charming and a true gentleman when he wanted to; he just never had the desire to be one.

It was when he was a teenager that things changed. A friend of his introduced him to the Steampunk subculture, and Alan immediately soaked it up. Everything about it fit him perfectly, and it wasn't long before he began to live a lifestyle completely immersed in it. He embraced the ways of Steampunk far better than he'd ever embraced the teachings of his parents, and it wasn't hard to see he was always meant to be part of it.

He moved out of his parents home as soon as he was an adult. While he does keep in touch with them, the relationship between him and his family is different due to how different his lifestyle is from theirs.

Alan has completely immersed himself in the Steampunk lifestyle, and lives it as authentically as he possibly can. His home is entirely steam-powered, and he insists on being called "Captain Alan" by his friends. At this point, he's managed to rise into the Upper-Middle Class through hard work, and methods he's never entirely clear on.

Info: Jien is a good man at his core. Outwardly he's an a*****e. Rude, to the point and often borderline cruel. Inwardly he's only trying to protect himself from being hurt again. His father [a noct] tried to do his best by him after Jien's mother disappeared. Jien's step-mother was a cruel and hateful woman. Angry that she couldn't have children of her own she took it out on Jien, beating him mercilessly. Once she beat him so badly that the bones in his arm shattered and it had to be amputated above the elbow. His string of bad luck with women has continued into his adult life.

Info: Rota works for an assassin group. But like her Valkyrie shes name after she doesn't kill people, she goes out and finds those who have a hit on them. She goes out and uses her feminine looks to get close to people while looking for her mark. When she finds them she calls in to her boss and passes it on as she marks the man or woman by buying them a drink with a special umbrella or sticker on it so the hit man knows that's the person their looking for.

Rota loves her job and wouldn't change anything about it. She is a big flirt and does what ever she has to to get to her mark as soon as she can. She doesn't get attached to any one or anything for too long, its a weakness. She loves to sweets and she loves the thrill of watching her mark get picked off. Shes often seen with a smile on her face even though she might be thinking about how nice your going to look soaked in your own blood.
