It had been a long night. Livy had spent most of the evening and night at the coffee joint, pouring herself over finishing the paper that was due the next morning at 9am. She could feel the fatigue drag her down as she had packed up her things to return home, the clock ticking just past 11:30pm as the lights dimmed in the shoppe. She walked this way to her dorm room often, whenever she had to get something finished for school. She had been lucky enough to never need to pull an all-nighter, but she feared that with the coming classes in her next semester, she wasn't going to be able to avoid it. Stifling a yawn, the shoulder-bag secured, she slowly walked on the sidewalk, a car or two drifted by on the street. She had always considered Destiny City a quiet place. Sure, it had its bits of trouble and worries, but there never was a place without it.

She turned without thinking, and blinked as she faced an alleyway. Strange, was she so tired to turn too early? She backed out of it a couple paces, and glanced around. "What?" she groaned, the normally quite girl ready to whine away the night. "Did I seriously get so wrapped up I forgot to take my turn?" Surely she couldn't be this tired from that paper, she drank all that coffee! Grumbling, she returned about a block up from where she was to take the right-handed turn towards her dorm room, the normally quiet street not as quiet tonight. She figured someone must have had a party, and it crashed early (for pre-college student anyway), too wrapped up in thinking about the different samples of coffee she had tasted to really give the source of the sounds another look.

The sounds might have been easy to ignore but the sight of a young woman flying out of the alley as if being thrown. She had been thrown, actually, by a youma that was nearly twice the size of the ones she was used to taking care of on her own. As a matter of fact, she had just been about to call for backup too but the moment she hit the ground (skidding a few feet in a way that was bound to result in road rash along at least one of her thighs) her phone clattered and went skidding away as well.

"Damn..." Sailor Corvus winced as she tried to push herself up, brow furrowing as she slid back down. While she could now feel her power coursing through her at the pain and added threat she had to be able to move and keep moving in order to use it without getting hurt again.

Corvus cursed again as she managed to give getting up another go, ready to either attack or scramble for her senshi cell once more. Whatever had given her the idea to go out on her own, to peer down another alley needed shot. She should've known better than to look in those places alone

Olivia's eyes flared open as she realized that it wasn't some party-gone-wrong. It was a girl...who looked way too familiar for Livy to consider it anything but a dream. The familiarity ended once Livy got a good look at her outfit. It was unrecognizable, and too elaborate to - more movement, and from the direction where the girl had flew from. Shock seemed within her, and she froze. What was going on? What was that thing?

Was she sure that she hadn't just crashed on the side of the road, asleep? Livy wouldn't put it past her, with how tired she had felt leaving the coffee place. Now...now, though, she was starting to think that it was real. Never within a dream did she feel her stomach tighten so much out of true fear.

She shook herself, feeling her stomach lurch as she slowly inched her way forward. She was curious, sure, but she was more concerned about the damage it was doing to the girl...woman? As shallow as it sounded, she obviously had a lot more curves about her than Livy every would, but that didn't mean that she was older.

"Why am I so easily distracted?" she sneered at herself, dismissing those superficial, silly thoughts. What mattered now was helping...or was it merely just running away? He hands trembled as she tried to make the decision. What could she even do to something...like that?

CRASH STOMP ROAR

The all tell signs that something not natural was in the area- this one however... sounded big. She hated the large ones- they drew far too much attention. She was just about to call for backup here when upon closer examination- she saw a flash of a skirt. She remembered this senshi- she knew this one. She was pretty sure with some assistance Corvus could overtake the giant. Growling she lunged for the creature and slashed her claws at its legs. Cat scratches might not do much damage but to a youma- they were like painful paper cuts. The creature screamed out once more and swatted in the direction the sudden pain came from.

"CORVUS! I think we might need back up here afterall." Chloe had managed to duck out of the way of the youma but it was surely pissed off now. "Can you handle this for a moment?"

"What do you think I was trying to... Nn... Call for?" She jumped back out of the way of the monster's next attack, not wanting to leave herself exposed by lunging for her phone again. The cell, thing be damned, was going to have to wait right where it was on the ground for the moment.

Corvus rolled her shoulders, taking a moment to mentally assess the damage she'd taken while watching the youma. Its movement seemed to slow a bit after each attack as though it had to build up its energies again. That would be a good thing to know...

"Oh, sure, Chloe. I've got this thing... No problem." At least she was getting a little bit better with sarcasm.

Hearing the thing scream, she was forced to look at it in a different light. Livy was trying to reassess everything, but her mind just couldn't handle it. The fact that a cat seemed to come out of no where made her reasoning to flee seem too logical. She tried to back up, to get ready to flee, but she slipped and fell on her rump with a gasp. Ouch! Before she could even complain about such a trivial scrape, the thing screamed and Livy lost it. The sound was something so foreign, so wrong. Regardless, Livy herself couldn't help but scream as she saw the cat dodge the terrifying creature, backing up against a wall, as if she could fade within it.

And then it talked. What. No, cats didn't talk. Ever, and she spent a lot of time around them (more like their litter boxes) with her volunteer work. This surreal-reality had gotten to the point that she locked up in pure shock. Her mind couldn't justify it. Her scream had faded just moments ago, and as she filled her lungs up with air again, she realized just how stupid that was. Her eyes welled up, the tears threatening to fall. Now everyone, er, everything would know right were she was, and she wasn't even stable enough to run away anymore. Was she going to die?

Running down the alley she heard the scream before anything else- wait... scream? Was someone watching the scene and did not run away? She couldn't fathom why any human, unless insane, would just... stay around and watch?

Another thing sunk into her mind- had they seen her? Heard her talk? Senshi and monsters were in the news these days but she couldnt afford for her description to get out.

Following her ears and quickly went towards the sound the scream came from. Corvus needed her so she could not wait- but she needed to see who this was for herself. Looking around she saw the girl sitting on her rump. Chloe was about ready to groan as her worst fear was recognized... but then she felt a all too familiar twinge of light inside.

Seems like anytime i find one they get a crash coarse in senshi 101...

"Found your backup corvus!" She screamed not sure if she was even heard.

More stomping and crashing behind them. Darting out she leaped into the air- and with a twirl a pen came out of her mouth. Setting it at the girls feet Chloe met the girls gaze with her own. She gave a look of such intensity- she did not want to startle the girl but she had no time.

"Sailor Galatea! Sailor Corvus needs your help! I will explain things after- you need to hold up this pen and cry out 'Galatea Star power, Make up!'"

If she heard the feline's words she didn't move to acknowledge them, not wanting to take her focus from the lumbering beast before her. The last time she had done that she had found herself in a world of pain and that was definitely not something she was in the mood to repeat. She was already going to have to find a way to explain the bruises she'd already received.

While she watched her enemy she held her hands out, letting the energy of her ability build between her fingers before releasing it with her battle cry. "Vengeance!"

... Which only seemed to piss the youma off. Clearly she still hadn't determined its point of weakness. "Damn."

Her cheeks damp from a few shed tears, she looked wildly at the cat that landed in front of her. She was hugging her knees, feeling her chest heave with every breathe she took. She was so frozen that it took a few long, tedious seconds for what the cat said to absorb in her mind.

"Gala....tea?" she repeated slowly, grasping for the pen. Was this the start to the end of the dream? But it couldn't be a dream, not with her dress ruined as it was when she fell on her rump. She gripped it tightly, as if it would fix everything, like magic. Hah! She let her hand run along it, slowly feeling less paranoid as her breathing slowed to a more normal pace. Her eyes were still wet and red with tears, but she was beginning to calm down.

Livy stumbled to stand up, her shakey legs making it hard to get a grip on herself, on everything. She clung to that pen like an anchor and thrust it in the air, screaming "Galatea Star Power, Make Up!"

Something magical happened from within the new senshi. it was a warm feeling, a feeling of oh..yes. This feels right. Her heart felt filled with light- was it truly her heart though? The place was close... it was in her chest- but it was not her heart. It burned into her very soul.

Light seemed to shatter the surrounding area - it blinked out as soon as it had arrived.

"Sailor Galatea- Go help Corvus!" She repeated once more for good measure.

Two more attacks. She could fire off two more attacks and, in this case, she would either have to get to her goddamn phone or make the attacks actually count. Why youma didn't come equipped with a big 'this is my weak spot' bullseye was beyond her...

Corvus watched as the monster lunged in for its next attack, leaping just out of the way before ducking down to grab the metal lid from a fallen trash can. She watched for a moment, waited, and then threw the lid discus style, hoping to clonk the monster one and do something that might be more help than hindrance. At the very worst, she was just going to get hit again herself... Ugh. Youma.

Olivia, no, Galatea blinked. She felt the urge to examine her new clothing, to really figure out exactly what just happened. Moreso in the fact that everything was happening quickly and slowly at the same time.

She released an inward sigh, knowing that now was not the time. Still, she let her fingers grace a stone around her waist, wondering exactly what those would be for one day.

The shifting sound of the trash can's lid as it was grabbed swallowed Galatea's attention. Forgetting the cat, she ran over to where the fight was. Weeell, sort of. She lingered behind the other scout, unsure as what to do. All she knew was that she wanted to help. Furrowing her brows as she eyes up the situation, she paused. Would she really be able to do this? She had no real idea what the hell she was doing. Hopefully she wouldn't die...

Knowing that there was someone else here helped her. She swallowed hard, gripped her hands together, and gathered up what little courage she possessed. There was no use running if there was someone needing help.

"Right. Let's do this," she said, her works betraying her a bit, but she didn't falter. She'd learn this, even if it was trial by fire.
