Seraophin never really liked his... 'father'. At least, that's what he supposed the snake was. It was what Vosyem said that he was to the boy and, despite the fact that absolutely nothing on them matched beyond the colour that Sera's hair used to be, the young Betzalel didn't have much other choice but to believe him. At the very least, he... sorta gave the half-snake a place to sleep. Sometimes. And he protected him from things. Usually. And... well, Seraophin couldn't even lie about the elder feeding him. That was one thing that he didn't do. So, the child was a dumpster diver.
Despite a slight height increase, Seraophin was still too short to crawl his way into dumpsters properly. Usually, he could get out of them, but sometimes he... overestimated the amount of garbage that was in them. That was what found him where he was. Looking like a grungy mess, Seraophin was on his tiptoes in a dumpster, fingers stretched as high as they could reach toward the edge of it, still falling a few inches short. There wasn't a lot of evidence that he was even in there, however, aside from an old folding chair pulled up to the outside edge of it and the lid standing wide open. Well, how was he going to get himself out of this one?

Sybil didn't like the city. The only places he felt really happy was in the backyard and the park. Still, he was overjoyed when his mother decided to take him to work with her. That meant he had momma all to himself, with no brother or sister to spoil it! He snuggled and poked and prodded and knocked things over to the point where Cameron's eye wouldn't stop twitching. "Sybil, baby?" She all, but growled, her draconic eyes ablaze. "Wanna take out the trash?"
"Yes, yes, yes!" He cheered. He pranced merrily behind her, hooves clipping on the tile as Cameron hefted the larger bag over her shoulder and after a ponder, gave him a pizza box. Sybil carried it like a badge of honor.
They walked out back together, just the two of them, to the dumpster. All the while he sang, "Walky walkin' wif mai momma, walk, walk, WALKY WALKIN~" She tossed her bag in carelessly and scooped him up by the waist so he could do the same.
Sybil shrieked. "Monsta! Twash monsta!"

To be sure, Seraophin actually was well-aware that at any moment, trash was suddenly going to be thrown on top of him. However, this did not give him the idea to pay close attention to whether or not someone was there, all it did was make him try harder and harder to hurry and get out of the trash can before he was devoured by a bag full of the fowl-smelling stuff. The cute little hybrid adjusted himself, doing what he could to balance on his too-big tail and use it to raise himself up higher, wobbling shakily as his fingertips finally reached the very edge of the dumpster.
It was at that moment that the first garbage bag fell right on top of him.
Squealing, Seraophin fell backward as the bag burst, covering him in gross and disgusting, not that it wasn't something he was used to. Hissing in a snakelike manner, he glared back up at the entrance to the dumpster only for the grown-up face there to be replaced by a young... thing screaming. Sera jumped backward before stepping forward again, waving his hands at the little unicorn frantically. "No! No!! Nonono, not'ta trash monster, I promise!!" he yelled quickly, hoping to catch the attention of someone with the ability to pull him out of here.

Cameron shifted Sybil's weight to her right arm and used her right to balance herself as she peered back over into the dumpster. "Oh my God!" What a freaky looking kid! Then again, Sybil wasn't the most normal thing around and she didn't waste time asking questions. "C'mere, kid." She reached her free arm to wrap around his waist and tug him up. When she was sure both boys were secure, she hopped down from her little perch, sat down on a crate and sat them on her thighs. He wreaked of trash, and she couldn't help wondering if he would struggle if she bathed him. "What were you doing in there?"
Sybil, on the other hand, wanted nothing more than to explore the new boy. His glasses slid down his nose as he leaned forward, one hand tentatively held out to touch him. Just....a little.....closer.

Seraophin's eyes got wide at the startled reaction from the older woman as well, flinching just a little bit until she actually reached in to pick him up. At that point, the little half-snake stretched himself to be more easily carried and clung to the arm that so easily raised him out of the dumpster. His tail flicked around a bit when he was sat on the woman's lap and he looked up with wide, pupilless green eyes, answering without hesitation. "Lookin' fo' foods."
The curiosity of the little unicorn to him attracted his attention as well, and he gazed back, head tipping gently to the side. The boy -boy?- leaned closer, glasses slipping a bit, moving forward as though amassed in clear jello, extremely slowly reaching out to touch him. Seraophin, not really seeing any reason to be so filled with caution, leaned forward then and pushed the other boy's glasses back up before pulling back and smiling brightly.

Cameron's draconic eyes squinted with a frown. What did he mean, looking for food? Kids should be at home, with someone giving the food to them...but she knew all too well what the other side of the spectrum was like. "You should have knocked on the door. I would have given you some."
Sybil hadn't been expecting the other to move and was shocked stiff by his actions. When he recovered, he shot up, eyes wide as he reached up to touch his glasses. Then he looked at the other and smiled too.
"Well, how about it? Do you want to have lunch with us?" Cameron asked, getting a little too much enjoyment out of watching them.
