Most (if not all) of us here are very much aware of the job classes of Final Fantasy. Let's Discuss it here:
  • The job class we like
  • The job class we don't like
  • What job class this character is
  • Job class skill combinations
  • And the likes....

Personally
I am attracted to the Blue Mage. If I was to live in the FF world, I want to be a blue mage. It's fun to go around the world learning monster skills and all. Lately though, I realized there's a masochist feel to it all and I found it rather disturbing (a little) that I found that even more exciting. Quistis is the bomb among all Blue mages with her dominatrix demeanor, she certainly screams. "Hit me with your best shot. I'll surely love it." heart

Like:I think Ninja is my favourite because of the speed the class has (and of course the Double Sword Ability), but I also love some of the skills you can learn as a Dark Knight.

Dislike: I'm completely the opposite to you here roscoe, I hate the Blue Mage clas. Some of the skills you learn can either kill you (thus you learn nothing) or are completely useless in battle compared with regular skills like them. One exception to this hatred though, is Kimahri. But that's because of how he learned them.

Job Class Combo: In Tactics Advance, by the end of the story my main character (Marche? I renamed him) was a Fighter with most skills, had most of the Paladin skills as a 2nd A-Ability, Strikeback R-Ability and Double Sword S-Ability. I was equipped with an Ogun Blade and a Venus Blade, Wygar for Armour, a Thief Hat and the Guantlets accessory. Basically with Strikeback (for those who don't know) I was not only immune to physical strikes, but I was Countering as well, and with Double Sword it meant I was hitting back twice. I could have been hitting harder as a Ninja, but I was still learning Strikeback. That was a good combo.

Like : I like/LOOOOVE white mages and summoners. x3 Teehee...their my most favorite because white mages are the reason that keep the party alive, and summoners are just oh so powerful xD.

Dislike : Hrm....I dunno. I don't really dislike any class D:

What Job Class : Well..the two perfect examples I have are Yuna and Garnet/Dagger! They both can summon, they both have healing abilities to keep the parties alive, and their both pretty x3!! Two other examples would be Aerith because she makes a good white mage...til she dies of course, and then Tifa whom makes a good summoner...yes, it's a bad combo for a melee and a summoner to come together, but I actually made it work and now in the file I'm playing, Tifa is both my strongest melee and strongest summoner. xD Rinoa is also a good example..since she's very good at the whole 'Sorceress' thing. x3

Class skill combo : Hmm...I can't think of one. 8D All I can think about is how the aeons in FFX can use magic...and white magic helped Valefor and Bahamut the most @_@ xD Oohz..there's also using protective magic on yourself first to be able to summon the GF's/Summons/Eidolons/Aeons afterwards. 8D Lolz...they have so many names >.< xD

I'd have to say Black mage. My motto is to kill them before they get within reach. Makes fighting much easier when you can just blow them to pieces. I don't like red mages. They may be balanced but they are dependent on items and aren't as proficient in each skill as the original.

Great replies so far. 3nodding

For combos by the way, in FFTA, I like the archer class paired with soldier skills. This unit I use to run around the battlefield speed breaking, blinding, and many other debuffs (from a distance of course) to ensure my victory. Though yeah, a good ol rush em and give em no chance to retaliate is a very good strategy, I like to take my time and technically watch my enemies suffer (and stripped of equipment/dignity xd ) before I sleep-beatdown them in the end.

my favorite all time is black mage
i love all mages honestly they r all good 3nodding
i dont like warriors much
ill use them but they r ok
especially since they give the monsters status ailments so they die faster it makes the battle easier

Like: In Final Fantasy Tactics, the job class I wanted to master was the Knight Class. The ability to break opponents' equipment and leave them vulnerable was just too tempting to lose. The only other class I'd want to master was the Geomancer class because it allows for various attacks no matter what kind of surface you were fighting on.

Dislike: Green Mages from Final Fantasy Tactics A2 seemed to be an unnecessary class overall. Didn't seem too useful to me.

Who has these jobs: Knights were plentiful in FFT, and Green Mages were just too easy to kill in random fights in FFTA2.

Job Class Skill Combinations: For Final Fantasy Tactics, I always enjoyed combining Monk and Lancer abilities, with Hamedo for my Reaction Ability, Concentrate for my Support Ability, and Ignore Height for my Move Ability. In the final battle against Gafgarion, I hated that I was stuck and couldn't escape him or reach the lever before my allies were killed, and I liked being able to reach opponents like Archers that thought they were out of reach.

It's a good thing you pointed out that thing about Green mages. I really find them useless too. xp

Something I forgot to mention is about the Dark Knight is in Tactics on the PSP, I hated the amount of effort you had to put in to unlock the class, and the end product wasn't great for what you'd done.

There's a couple of Dispatch missions on FFTA2 that the Green Mage comes in handy for, the Mace polisher one, and the Woodworker (I think), but if you have a Sage and a Viking, then the Green Mage is, as you've said, useless.

Has anyone noticed that the Assassin class is more balanced in FFTA2 than it was in the first game? I think it's better now because of it.

I haven't trained an assassin yet in FFTA2 to be able to confirm that, but yeah, they polished the game quite well so far.

As for the PSP Lionwar, I haven't played that yet. (no PSP) I am not comfortable with the additional classes though, but I have yet to see it for myself before I can say anything about it; but I'll take note of your comment. smile

Don't get me wrong the the class is useful still, it's just a lot of work for little reward.

I just got this inspiration for a support unit for FFTA or perhaps FFTA2 too.

Hume - Paladin
Chivalry
White Magic
Auto-Regen
Dual Weild

- Have him dual weild 2 shields with maybe an elemental resistance each.

- His armor may either be one with a third elemental resistance or something that nulls status.

- Accessory should have lots of status protection like an angel ring; since equiping a ribbon is unlikely for a hume.

- 2nd accessory may be something that adds more protection from status effects, for my preference though, I'd go for dash boots to compensate for the paladin's low move stat.

What I think makes this support build great is the stat growth of its major job: the paladin for the physical defense and the white mage for the magical defense. So the unit is technically tough and with its equipment, very hard to take down. having to be a hunter and a ninja to get the other skills means that he will have a decent growth for his speed too. (since he has to go through being an archer and a thief to get there.)

I have not really tested this though, this came to me just today as I was using my paladin in a no color magic battle. I just want to share it. smile

The only down side to that plan is Dual Wield is for weapons only, not shields. Although you could equip the Iceprism as one weapon, you would nullify Ice and Fire with that, then you could equip the Excalibur to absorb Holy damage (useful against Llednar I seem to remember, so long as it's Marche you set this up with), or the Excalibur2 (for serious damage). Then that would be a class to worry about.

i'm an "up close and persenal" kinda player. I prefer swords, knives, knuckles, gunblades, or shord swords. So I gess im a Knight. that was my favorite class in FF3. I also like thife/ rogue classes. I'm a bit of a rare item nut...

Like: I would have to say red mages they are like a fencer, back mage, white mage all mixed into one that is so cool so you have to use less when a enemy is close to you.
Dislike: A green mage I mean they are there for no reason I mean They can't even fight. Subsitute for the white mage and black mage.
Combos: I paladin and a assasin I mean it would be so cool seeing that complete opposites
