Help me, please.

I'm so very, very confused.

So, lately, i've been trying to get more...strict with my beliefs (Sort of a Mix of Christianity and Judaism, mostly Judaism), I suppose you could say...

So, anyway, I'm starting to worry...

I've been trying to live a virtuous life. And, I have so far, for the most part. I'm not saying I'm perfect, not in the least bit. But, i've done my best to be generous, to help others, never curse, and be an all-around 'Virtuous Person'.

But, then there's one thing stopping me from being completely virtuous.

...Being a lesbian.

Now, I know I can't help who I love...

But, if that's going to keep me from Salvation, then I just don't know what to do...

Please help me, I know this isn't a healthy mind-set to be in.

And, please don't just say "Oh, religion is silly." or "God doesn't exist."

I'd like some actual words of wisdom, if possible.

I know, this isn't an actual 'Life Issue', but, I'm really feeling confused-about all of this right now. So, please help me! >.<;;

And again, I'm not trying to suggest I'm a perfect person. Not at all. Okay? I just wanted to make that clear.

There isn't anything wrong with being in love.

Being a in love with someone isn't causing harm to anyone else. So I don't understand why it would be considered a sin.

If you're a good person, you'll get into heaven. Being a lesbian shouldn't have anything to do with it.

I agree but i'd like to expand on that. First of, being GLBT IS NOT A SIN!!! Since i can tell you take religion is important, i know you'll take this part a little more to heart: God loves ALL his children. Just as a good parent would be proud and supportive of their own GBLT kid, God to is a good parent. Just cuz a few politicly-motivated "religous" bastards say it's wrong, well: ******** them. They're the one going to hell. not the ones they condemn.

Hey.

I don't know anything about Judaism but I do know about Christianity. I was worried about that too. I was really scared about it cause I always loved God with all of my heart. So I did some research regarding the Bible and I found three passages against it and one passage not condeming it.

Levitcus 18:22
Leviticus 20:13

Leviticus also tells us not to cut our hair, shave or wear clothing made of two different threads. I bet the shirt you're wearing has two dif threads, doesn't it? And I bet you've cut your hair before too.

Romans 1:26-27

In Romans, homosexuality is just one of numerous sins that are listed from which we commit every single day of our lives.

1 Corinthians 6:9-11

Here it is stated that sins are forgiven by the Lord once you repent and give your life to Him. Homosexuality is one of the listed.

These helped me out a lot. ^^ I read the 1 Corithians passage over and over again. I was so happy. ^^ haha My whole life, I've loved the Lord and I worshiped him consitently. But once I realized who I was, I began to fear what would happen just because of who I was. I prayed over it and I found these verses. I hope this helps... if it doesn't, I'm sorry.

(I hope it's okay I said something... I was just looking for my thread and I saw yours and I was worried. I really do hope this helps.)

God created man.
So, somewhere in there God allowed for there to be homosexuals,
since God is viewed as flawless, and man is his perfect creation
He certainly wouldn't have homosexuals if they weren't part of his plan, yes?

I'm sorry, it makes more sense in my brain. sweatdrop User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

Oddly enough that makes sense ^_^ I'm going to agree with the others on the points they've made because they are all valid and true, although I myself am an Eclectic Neo-Pagan (Specific sect, if any, undecided yet) and our only Law is to Harm none. We see it as follows: Homsexuality = love = not harm I like looking at it that way which is one of the reasons why I became one in the first place But if You're Jewish/Christian or whatever you said (no offence) then the points the others have made are all completely valid.

Yes, but to be fair, what about serial killers? Are they a part of Gods plan as well? I mean God did give humanity the greatest double-edge sword ever: Free will. Yes we have the free will to our sexuality (so it's not a matter of heredity or illness), but humanity also has the free will to be pig-headed and prejusdice (sp?).

p.s.
I'm not trying to start a fight or anything, but this is just my view. smile

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Good point. I think it has something to do with Adam and Eve and losing some of their gifts. So all of man got closer to animals, which work via instinct. Plus, in some cases, killers do suffer from mental illnesses that are caused by abuse, or other things.

whee My thoughts made sense! Score, and glad I could help. 3nodding User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

Okay listen, I don't know what I believe but if God didn't want you to be gay, he wouldn't have made you Gay... you're born gay and you can't change that.
You cannot compare a serial killer with being gay because it isn't something you're born with. Plus you're comparing something which is harmful to something which is not.

That's true. They're two different matters entirely.

But, anyway, yeah...I think i'm beginning to understand this a bit better.

Thanks for the words of wisdom everyone. ^_^

God, is many different forms.

I understand wanting to belong to a religon and things but perhaps for you the best thing to do is to use your religon as more of a gudence though life insteed of that being how your suppoted to live it.

I actually tried being christan, I did. My brother is. But I just don't care for it. (Long story.) But I do agree that there are many things in their bible that are good morals to follow. Like 'be kind to your neighbor' or 'respect your family'. I think thoughs are good morals.

Perhaps that what you could do. Take it more as a guild line and a sorce of help and not as a way of life.

If you truely trust your heart, then no one can truely hate you.
