 He stumbled up a grassy hill in a little wobble; this time..for sure he'd make it! As he got on top of the hill and the sun's glow seemed brighter then ever. Bou slowly trotted towards the edge of the hill side and gazed down, he gulped. It was such a drop though it wasn't that high and he wouldn't get hurt! He took a deep breath and got in his position to take flight.
His little white wings moved about and he wiggled his rump. His back legs pushed off and he took off just for a bit though. Bou lost his confidence and found himself landing on the ground with a thud.
“Ouch..!”

 Soaring low to the ground, Branwen wasn't far off from where the little colt was making his attempts at flight and hear ears easily caught the sound of his painful landing. Not being one to ignore another in need, she settled her hooves back on the ground and carefully made her way towards the young foal. She had learned through experience that if she was going to be curious about something she'd better do it cautiously, but as soon as she saw that what she was dealing with was just a foal all caution fled from her.
"Hello there, little one. Are you alright?" She asked with a kind smile as she stepped into view and moved towards him. Her eyes quickly glanced over him, looking for any possible injuries and giving a mental sigh of relief as she saw no sign of any.

Bou got right back up in a wobbly way and the glanced at the older mare that made way over towards him. He gave a small laugh “Yeah..I guess I'm not doing so well with the flying bit though.” he glanced at her with his brown eyes. He noticed she had wings very much like his own well except his were little but she had horns and an odd tail. Giving her a curious look “Is..that a tail?” he glanced at it with amazement.
“You have horns! Are you a cerynei?! I met a younger cerynei and he had little horns!”

Branwen smiled reassuringly to the little foal, intending to give some words of encouragement about flying when he cut in with the question about her tail. She giggled and gave it a flick as if to emphasize the difference between her own and his. Bou's last question nearly made her falter in her typically cheery attitude. He obviously hadn't seen a grown Cerynei and it made her wonder if he knew what a Kalona was. Either way, she wasn't going to try and hide what she was. That would just cause more problems down the road than it would prevent.
"No, I'm not a Cerynei. I'm half Kalona." She tried to keep her pleasant smile as she said this, though internally she was preparing for a negative reaction just like most of the others she typically received, "But you don't need to worry. I don't act like a Kalona." Like that would convince anyone. But perhaps his youthful innocence would allow her a chance in that pattern just this once.

Bou was amazed; he had just told a foal a awhile ago how he wanted to meet a kalona! His brown eyes grew big and he opened his mouth “Really?!! You don't seem evil!” but he didn't know much about crossbreeds. He had so many questions now and he'd probably bore her out or something like that!
“That's so cool! I knew they weren't allll soo scary!” he now knew what the differences were between a kalona and cerynei.

Branwen's unsure smile grew into a wide grin at Bou's comment. She was glad he didn't see a reason to fear or loathe her and let go of anything that may have been holding her back because of that concern, "You're right, I'm not evil, and not all kalona are either. But there are still plenty of them who are so don't go wandering up to any others you see without thinking it through first. You could get into a lot of trouble that way."
She chuckled at herself, thinking her little safety lesson sounded just a bit silly. This foal probably wouldn't even heed her warning anyways. He was far too young and full of energy to take to heart anything serious an adult said. She certainly didn't when she was his age, "My name's Branwen. What about you?"

Bou tried to take the half kalona's warning to heart but he couldn't imagine mean Soquili. Of course he heard of a worse kind then the kalona lot. He glanced at her with curious eyes “Have you ever met a skin walker?” he heard stories. He tried to imagine what they looked like from what he heard they were Soquili with some sort of animal skin on their bodies. Some had claws and sharp teeth; they sounded ..well..cool.
The little winged one gave a smile “Oh I'm Bou!” he whinnied.

Branwen looked off to the side at the question about skinwalkers, her ears going back a bit. She had met a skinwalker, indeed. She was sired by one of those horrible creatures, "I have....once and I'd like to keep it that way. Running into him again would only mean lots of trouble for me." She worried about running into her sisters when she was alone due to their foul natures, but nothing scared her more than the thought of coming face-to-face with her father again. She was lucky to have had her family with her that one time, but she couldn't always count on luck to save her from that blood-thirsty stallion.
Quickly, she tried to put aside those thoughts, not wanting to bring such a dark mood onto the situation. Foals were so full of life and energy and all of that should be enjoyed and not tainted with such tales. She turned her head back to him and smiled, "What a cute name. It's a pleasure to meet you, Bou."
