Windy giggled lightly as she trot around the mountainside. Oh what an adventure life had become! She had been meeting many new interesting things, and even other Soquili that were unlike her and her brothers or parents. While she had heard quite a few stories now about other Soquili, having taken keen interest after an encounter with a winged colt, Windy had made her goal to meet all kinds of Soquili, every size and shape, and was most enjoying her adventures, though they easily displeased her parents. Amoung the encounters she wanted, were with Kalona, a fear breed of Soquili that shouldn't be tampered with. While she had a slight fear of them, due to her parent's stories, she nonetheless, pushed those back far from her head when her curiosity was to be satisfied.

Coming to halt infront of a mass of boulders, blocking her from continuing her walk. Windy gazed curiously at the pile, and attempted herself, to clamber up it, failing quite miserably due to her hooves, and laughing at herself for it. "This is fun! Hmm.. I wonder if there's someone around who could teach me to get up there.." She wondered outloud to herself, gazing longingly up at the top of the boulders and again, attempting unsuccessfully at crawling up. "I wanna see the view!!" She whined, as she fell onto her rump and pouted up at the blockage.

Ominos growled lightly as another stitch of pain sent flashes of white across his line of vision. The sun was too bright in the spring, and as of late, spring had firmly settled in. The clouds were absent from the sky, a warm breeze tickled the pines of the mountainside forest further up the slope, and the sun shined brightly down, bathing the landscape in its stinging glory. Ominos would have hid from the light, sheltered within the depths of his beloved cave, but his stomach had growled far too loudly to let him rest. So he had left the cave to hunt--only to find that there was no game to be found in the woods. Thus, he had to abandon the sheltering shadow of the forest and trudge around the barren mountainside until, finally, he had sated his hunger with a young deer. Now full, he was on his way back to the forest--until a sudden scent caught his nose.

He growled, a deep, gravely sound. "Foal..." he mumbled, narrowing his eyes and gazing farther down the rocky slope. Sure enough, there at the base of a small pile of boulders was a young, deer-like Soquili. Though he had already eaten for the day, his territorial urges rose within his chest at seeing another Soquili on his mountainside. He wanted her gone!

So he stretched his wings out from his sides, gathered his strength beneath him, and jumped into the air, gliding gracefully down to where the little foal was playing. He landed directly behind her, not bothering to mask the heavy sounds of clopping hoofs upon the rocks.

While examining the pile of rocks, Windy attempted to nudge the rocks into falling, pushing against them with her body and rump, taking no notice to her being watched ominously by a darker being. For Windy, her goal was to get past this blockage. She couldn't walk around it, so the only way was back, or past it. Pouting at her unsuccessful attempts at both scaling AND knocking down the barracade, Windy sat and contemplated her options. She could always turn around, oh yes she could've, and perhaps, she should've. But that was not Windy, oh no. Windy never turned her back on an unsolved puzzle. "There's gotta be a way through!" She mumbled to herself, narrowing her gray eyes at the pile of towering boulders as she felt an unusual breeze sweep behind her.

With a twitch of her ears, Windy picked up the sound of hooves on rock just moments later, feeling finally, the dark presence behind her. As her shadow infront of her began growing, a fear clamped at Windy's heart for a moment as she saw the shadow very malicious looking wings. However, all that practically flew away as she realized something. She was going to meet someone! A bright look resurfaced on her face, and she hopped onto all fours and whirled around with a bright smile, gazing almost admiringly up at Ominos, a curious glint her eyes. "WOW!" She exclaimed, looking up at him, as he easily towered over her smaller frame. "You're a Kalona!" She declared, absoulutely fascinated. "What's your name? Were you watching me? Do you eat meat? Are you hungry? Do you know how to get past this barracade?" She quickly rambled off, the words spilling off her tongue without any pause, excitement overpowering her.

Ominos was fairly surprised by the foal's reaction to his presence; he was used to the usual gasping, running, screaming, what have you. But this filly... she didn't even flinch! And, to add to the strange reaction, the little beast had assaulted him with a barrage of questions--questions that he had no intention of answering.

He shook his head, trying to clear it of the confusion, and to lessen the pain of the bright light stinging his eyes. His mouth twisted down in an irritated snarl, exposing a set of big, sharp, shiny-white teeth. His befuddled brain tried to sort out an answer, but instead, all he could get out was an angry roar. "Silence!"

He looked the foal over, noting her as a Cerynei, the kind of Soquili that resemble a deer. He might have eaten one of those once... but he couldn't remember. His memory was never the best, and it irked him to no end.

"Yes, I am a Kalona, little fool. And yes, I was watching you! You're in MY territory, spreading your filthy little scent all over MY rocks!" He growled again, emphasizing his frustration. "You'd do best to leave, before my stomach pains me once more!" His tail whipped out behind him, expelling some of the anger that was contained in his body.

Windy flinched as Ominos roared, her ears flicking to the side, and getting low, to avoid the deafening echoes. Windy's ears were unsually sensitive, even for a Cerynei Soquili, and being in such a rocky, enclosed area made for all the better of a barrier that projected the sounds to unreasonably high frequencies that hurt Windy's ears. "Owww.." She mumbled, shaking her head abit as she recovered from the ache in her ears, and perked them up again as Ominos observed her. She hadn't moved or let up any ground despite the roar, merely having lowered her head abit, in hopes of blocking out any echoes. Raising her head once again, she regained her bubbly personality as Ominos finally answered her.

"Oh wow! I've heard alot of stories about Kalona and all but I never saw one myself! It's a pleasure to meet you!" She exclaimed, hopping on her cloven hooves, smiling her oh so bright smile, completely oblivious to his malicious and threatening tone. However, her ears perked up again as she caught the words 'filthy scent' and she gained a confused look, sniffing at herself. "I don't think I smell that bad!" She defended, sniffing at her light brown and ivory coat. "Oh this is your territory? Gosh how do you get territory? Do you claim it? These are your rocks? I'm terribly sorry I didn't think these rocks belonged to anybody. Why are they piled up like this? Did you pile them up like this? What's on the other side? Am I allowed to see? Do you know how to get over them? Do you fly over them?" She quickly asked, before halting when he mentioned his stomach.

"Oh gosh! Your stomach was hurting before? Do you know why it was hurting? Aww.. You don't like me? Did I do something wrong? Well I mean other than touching your rocks, but I didn't know they were your rocks I'm terribly sorry." She rambled, bowing her head to him in apology. "Oh, I'm LittleWind by the way! I still don't think I have your name, will you tell me?" She asked rather politely, though the politeness was drained by the speed at which she asked due to her excitement.

Ominos shook his head, trying to sort through yet another onslaught of questions. He might have attacked the little filly by now, at least just ot shut her up--but her constant barrage of words were proving to be protection against his violent whims. They were, in a way, stunning him, like a bright light could stun a frog. There were times when he could be deceitful, even sly, but for the most part, he was more brawn than brain. It wasn't like his parents had ever taken the time to care for him! There were just too many words to sort through, and his already aching head was unable to cope with the amount of knowledge needed to respond effieciently.

"SLOW DOWN!" He shouted, not even caring that he hadn't acted as a normal Kalona would. He groaned, squinting his eyes to shield them against the bright sun, and said, "This is my territory because I claimed it, and guard it against any intruders! One like you isn't big enough to stake out on their own." He growled, glancing around for any shade. Too bad, his cave was too far away.

"On the other side of these rocks is simply more rocks--as you will find in the mountains. It's useless for you to try to get around them, with those tiny legs of yours."

He sighed, rolling his eyes at her ignorance. "A figure of expression--it means that I'm HUNGRY. Not that my stomach hurts, you fool. And apologies are meaningless in this world, so you'd do best to leave, and be thankful that you made it out with your life."

But, at the mention of her name, he knew that she'd only bother him more unless he responded. So, with an agitated little growl, he murmured, "I am called Ominos--though most who learn that name die before they can spread it."

Windy jolted her head down again as Ominos shouted at her. Oooooowwww.. She thought to herself, ears almost flat against her head, as the echoes bombarded her ears. The light for Ominos was as bad as the echoes for Windy, save for the fact that they didn't last. They were just that must more painful in the first hit. As always though, as soon as Windy recovered, she was back to her bubbly self. "Okay! I'm sorry for talking so fast before, I've never really even noticed." She told him, smiling as her speech slowed down to at least a comprehensible little twitter, though it was still above average when it came to a normal talking speed.

"Ohh. So that's what territory is! Kinda like a home right? Oh dear. I barged into your home without knowing!" She blinked at this realization and bowed her head to Ominos, about to apologize again before she was interrupted. Turning her neck to the rock wall, and blinking curiously. "Aww.. Just more rocks?" She whined, pouting in semi-disappointment. The naiivety of a foal ran through Windy's veins. She had thought there could've been so much more. However, as Ominos told her she couldn't get over them, she blinked up at him. "I can't? WEll maybe when I'm bigger I can? You surely can can't you? You could fly over!" She exclaimed, smiling brightly, hopping on her hooves. "Your wings are really cool looking by the way!"

Windy blinked lightly as Ominos taught her about a figure of expression, and giggled abit, hopping still. "Oh! I misunderstood! Well what do you like to eat? Kalona's eat meat right? I've never eaten meat. It doesn't look any good, blech. But then again, lots of things eat meat so maybe it does taste good." She mumbled off to herself, blinking cutely at her thinking out loud. As Ominos mentioned apologies though, Windy became confused, halfway forgetting the last bit. "But apologies do mean something. They mean you're sorry for what you did and will do your best to fix it! And I'll surely do my best to fix my mistake!" Windy exclaimed, smiling brightly at her proclaimation.

Windy quickly forgot to answer to leaving however, as Ominos gave her his name, excitedly hopping up and down in success. "It's very nice to meet you Mister Ominos! I like your name!" She whinnied, before blinking abit as Ominos told of the legacy behind his name. "The people who know your name have all died? That's sad! I won't forget your name though! And I will stay alive very long so that way technically now at least one person knows your name that's still alive!" Ah, foal logic. Well, at the very least you'd have to admit it was cute right? "I hope you remember my name too!" She laughed, smiling brightly, before skipping abit in a circle.

"You don't eat meat, little fool, because you are not Kalona," Ominos muttered, tossing his head to cover his eyes with his bangs. The sun was higher in the sky now, and glinted mercilessly off of the granite boulders. His head was on fire, to the point of splitting! He didn't care about this little runt--he was going to find some cover.

"You're lucky to still be alive, so why don't you leave me now? You have my name, what else do you want?" His growl was menacing, but he seemed defeated, exasperated and tired of her. He began to walk away, towards a little alcove in the mountainside, wishing for nothing but to escape from the blinding sun.

"Oh. I guess not. I couldn't stand to kil anything either, so I guess I will never learn about meat." Windy concluded, pouting lightly at the fact, as she clambered around in her own thoughts, thinking quietly to herself and talking to herself abit about meat and animals and why others seem to eat plants or why some ate meat. She twitched lightly as Ominos turned to leave and growled, and toddled after him alittle, smiling cheerfully.

"Well I guess I should leave you alone, afterall I need to make up for my mistake like I said I could! I don't want anything Mr. Ominos, I'm very glad to have met you!" Windy chimed lightly, skipping ahead and running ahead, her little hooves beating the rock as she turned one last time and smiled her brightest. "Bye bye Mr. Ominos!" She exclaimed, before turning and skipping back into the forest to find her way back home, giggling lightly. What an adventure this had become!
