Name: Finelly
Age: 16 turns ( will be seventeen at the group age up )
Gender: Female
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual
Craft: N/A
Rank: Weyrbrat / Candidate
History: Born to a woman from the Holds as a second child, Finelly was originally about to be given up to the woman's family when the mother had a rapid change of heart. Unwilling to send her second child away (thoughts of the first still kept the young mother awake at night), the baby was kept at the Weyr to be raised by the lower cavern's worker until it was time for her to enter the Creche and be fostered. Thus the first three or four turns of her life was spent at the woman's side or at the side of the man who was her sire, another lower cavern's worker who had managed to catch the Hold woman's eye for the time being. Finelly would never fully know nor remember the man since their only interactions were in her very young turns, and she was sent to fostering without properly learning his name.
Placed with a foster mother who raised Finelly to be both obedient yet independent in the Weyr, the young girl enjoyed much of her time with the other children that were currently being fostered with her. She enjoyed the games they played on an almost daily basis, and was actually blessed with a visit from her birth mother every now and then. The woman seemed to really want to keep contact with her child despite the rules of the Weyr, and Finelly was more than pleased to have 'two mothers' that she could know of.
As she grew older the option of standing at Thirteen turns came around and Finelly decided it was her duty to the Weyr to try and impress a dragon, so she joined many others her age out on the sands. She has yet to Impress a lifemate in all her turns standing, but she doesn't seem to rattled by such issues.
Only a short time ago Finelly was given a firelizard egg from one of the newest Riders, a Greenrider who Impressed a dragon. Aware of the reputation that surrounded the young woman Finelly took the egg none-the-less, not the type to look a gift wherry in the mouth. The egg hatched into a beautiful Green flitter, whom she named Mint. The firelizard stays at her side as her constant companion.
Appearance: Tall would be the first word that comes to mind in describing Finelly, as well as pale. Standing at least a head above her mother thanks to her sire, she probably rounds the height meter at about 5'6" or 5'7". Not too thick or thin, she carries herself well and with a bit of pride. Her pride does not lie in her looks however, as she knows herself to be quite average in the high standards that many of the boys in the Weyr seem to use, but that does not mean she's unattractive (nor does she think herself ugly). Blessed with full round lips and a small, well-shaped nose she has a face that surprises the looks of her mother. She carries the same birthing hips and large breasts that seem to dominate the women in her family, though she treats both demanding traits with heavy modesty.
Finelly's lower-back length hair is a dark shade of russet, another gift inherited from her sire, though she has the same hazel eyes as her mother. They are a nice shade of gray hazel. Her skin is smooth and scar-free, the result of an uneventful childhood, though she has a scattering of light freckles on her shoulders and moles about her body. She is in possession of a large birthmark that rests below and on her right breast, and often she remarks that it resembles a claw or a hand print.
She dresses well for a woman of her position, wearing skirts and blouses then cover most of her skin yet allow her to stay cool while she works. She enjoys cooler colors, nothing too bright or gaudy, and she does not accessorize with baubles or bracelets. Her hair is always worn in two loose braids or three loose buns, to keep it out of her face or whatever it is she's doing. She enjoys wearing boots, the thicker soled and taller the better, preferring the type that run nearly up to her thighs.
Personality: To put it plainly, Finelly is ambitious. Possessed with a goal in mind and a drive to accomplish it, there are very few things that can get in the young woman's way and prevent her from completing what she's set out to do. Thankfully not entirely ruthless or cruel she takes some pains to make sure she doesn't tread on the toes of those around her, at least those who are vital to her plan and can help her along the way, though she does put in some effort to keep the peace with those she interacts with on a daily basis. She can be considered all around friendly and kind if not a bit overzealous when it comes to wanting to get things done, though all in all nothing too troublesome. That is, until her perfectionist side comes into play.
Unwilling to leave well enough alone, any task that Finelly has set out to complete must be done quickly and perfectly the first time around or it is met with great disdain on her behalf. Things that belong in a specific order must be placed in that order and if something deviates in the slightest from its intended path leaves her frustrated and bitter until what she has set out to do is accomplished. While she tries to keep her expectations and desire for perfection slated only to herself she sometimes lets her set of standards slip out onto the people around her and she finds herself judging their actions; appearances have never mattered to her since even unattractive people can get things done in a prompt and precise manner.
Horrible with names and faces, Finelly is pretty lucky that she remembers her own name and the faces of her mother, foster mother, and other relatives. Unwilling to admit she can't recall something the youth often tries to bluff her way through encounters with people until they give up some clue of who they are or she manages to remember who they are. She doesn't seem to have this problem when it comes to remembering who should be on what duty, but being unable to place a name with the face makes helping run chores a bit more difficult. This is something she really needs to get over should she keep at her bid for becoming Headwoman, and the youth has taken to carrying around a scroll in order to write down anything she considers to be important.
If pushed too far in any topic she is currently dwelling on, Finelly's mild temper flares. Possessed with a sharp tongue that she feels she only needs to use in order to get people to see her point of view and therefore leave her alone (or agree with her in some cases), the young woman has had a good deal of practice snapping at people to get them off an issue. Never using force or any other acts of violence to get her point across, Finelly would rather back down and just swallow her opinion if forced into a situation that isn't in her favor or is in danger of impeding her process. Thankfully she is the type to not hold a grudge or stew in her emotions for too long, as she knows acting out will only get her into more trouble.
Generally gentle, Finelly has a soft spot for children and small animals. While it's probably not a good idea that she considers them in the same category in her mind she treats them all with exceptional love and care, spending as much time with both groups as she can spare. She has great joys in helping foster mothers with their fosterlings, prompting her to consider being a fostermother one day (should her Headwoman plan fall through) rather then only pursuing children of her own flesh and blood. Finelly isn't overly interested in boys right now, even though she is no stranger to their affections or her own interest in quite a few. She has yet to follow any leads of her 'crushes' for the time being, and has not gotten fully intimate with anyone who has managed to catch her fancy.
Other: Finelly has a green firelizard named Mint.
Finelly is also Y'ul's younger half-sister, and the older half-sister of Yara (per Chibi Sheepcat). Finelly does not know that Y'ul is related to her, though she is aware of her cousin-relationship with L'pin
