Denkatsu was bored. It was not a feeling he liked to associate it with a lot. He could always find something to do, usually. He could always go out and run or find other ways to exercise and build up his stamina. However, on his last hunt, he'd twisted one of his ankles and his paw was swollen and painful. He'd been soaking it in the cool water of the pond nearby, which seemed to help somewhat. Still, it was obvious that he was going to have to stay off the paw for quite some time until it healed. Which meant no exercise.
Denny sighed and glanced around at the inside of his shelter. He had been using this rock formation for a home for quite some time now. It was quiet and peaceful and though he would sometimes see other wild dogs nearby, no one else came to use the shelter. What normally seemed peaceful now seemed very lonely.
He'd lived alone for quite some time, unsure of how to go about starting a family. When he'd been a little younger, he'd spent his time going around and helping others, trying to be a hero. They were some of his best memories. He'd given up on the idea of being a hero, but he still liked to be able to help others. There was just no one to help.
Denny sighed. He might need to rethink his living situation, but there was nothing he could do until this paw healed.

The pretty reddish-purple female stalked across the landscape with a scowl decorating her features. Today just hadn't been her day. She had been woken up by a pair of lovebirds getting it on, failed to catch a meal that same morning and found herself in a pit of mud just an hour or so ago. Unfortunately despite the mud there hadn't been a clean pool of water for her to bath resulting in her spending a good amount of time in the heat just trying to find a place to get herself cleaned up.
Even worse was that the mud was starting to dry, crack and be all itchy. Ewwww.
Ariane stopped, heaved a sigh and plopped down on her butt. "Why does this always happen to me?" she whined glaring up at the sky as though it was it's fault. Taking a minute to scratch behind her ear, in hopes of soothing her itchiness and remove some of that icky mud she sprung to her paws and continued about her search.
After a good...thirty minutes or so of walking she had found nothing. She seriously needed some help. "Seriously?" she cried out loudly in despair unaware that farther along was the very thing she sought.
