Okay, well I'm not a mom yet. I'm only 17 gonk but being the dork I am I want my child to be a phan too. And the girl I want to marry is a phan too. So I knew there was the Bailey School Kids book "Phantoms Don't Drive Sports Cars" (Which I DO want to find, because I LOVED BSK books) and I knew of the goosebumps book "Phantom of the Auditorium" which was geared to a slightly older age group.
Well today I was wandering though this kinda corny local department store when I saw a rack of "Great Illustrated Classics" which I loved as a kid. I remember reading "A Tale of Two Cities" and...others but I forget which ones. So my first thought was "I wonder if they made one for Phantom... nah" And I am about to pass by the display when on 3 shelves a figure in a red mask, in a red suit, with a red cape and a red hat caught my attention. Three times over it's staring me in the face "Great Illustrated Classics: The Phantom of The Opera." So naturally I grabbed the book and shoved it in my mom's arms shouting "This is for you grandchild!!!"
I'm probably gonna read it tonight actually XD

Wow, they really have a kid version? I thought I was gonna have to write my own. I plan on getting my cousin's baby to like it. XD Because I highly doubt Uta is going to pro-create with anyone/thing. So she must make phans of relatives' babies!
So huzzah! Now I must search online for it and wait for the baby to understand English.

Now I must search online for it and wait for the baby to understand English. Yeah, I took a brief read-through of it... up until gah.. where was I... oh the rooftop scene. It's very true to the story while making the language more simplistic, adding pictures, and removing the few things that would scare little kids out of their minds (like they didn't mention Buquet's death but that's understandable for a kid's book). The pictures of Daroga make me laugh though.. I dunno... he's funny looking. (Yeah I flipped through looking at the illustrations first...) Oh and the pictures always tastefully hide Erik's face so as not to make the little kiddies crap their pants... like... having his back to the reader and his hand hiding his face... well done actually..

Shwiggy. X3 Also saves me a headache of making my own and making a butt of myself.
And of COURSE they would hide Erik's face! The real Erik is so scary, he could make Godzilla run away screaming. But we love him anyway.
And the Daroga can't look any sillier than they made him in the 1925 movie.

There's a live-action disney movie called "Phantom of the Multiplex" or something like that. Never seen it so I can't say if it's for little kids or not.

No, he looks much sillier... he looks like he walked right out of Aladdin.

Ooh, I had no idea they had a kid's version! That's pretty awesome, unless they made it suck. Heh heh.
*Envies Baka* There are children's books I'd like to read just to bring back memories, but I'm always so self-concious walking into the children's section of the bookstore. Not fun! And my friends won't be dorks with me either, and make it feel not so awkward. *Twitch*

Utakan And of COURSE they would hide Erik's face! The real Erik is so scary, he could make Godzilla run away screaming. But we love him anyway. Well atleast they avoided his face altogether instead of trying to make it...pretty or something *cough* POTO!2004 *cough*
I don't have a kids illustrated classics but I have one those small classic books that they sell at Borders like $5 my relative sent Phantom of the Opera and Dr.Jekyl and Mr.Hyde for Christmas last year...that's how I got introduced to the phantom (becuase those relatives took one look at my picture and said "oh she's smart let's send her books!" which makes me hate and love stereotyping all at the same time...)

They have a picture book in my Elementary school called "The bantam of the Opera"
xD It's about a rooster...
I think the rooster stumbles into the Opera House and... Puts on a mask. o_O;
xDD They also have "The Phantom Cat of the Opera"
Which, I've never read. But I would assume it's the same basic gist of Phantom of the Opera.

In Barnes and Noble there is a big sign to show where the kiddy area is and when I go in there I am self-consious too XD

I have "Phantoms Don't Drive Sports Cars". xD;; It's pretty good, actually. I think if you try going to elementary school's scolastic book fairs you could find one. ;x
A PotO picture book? Sounds good. :>
