Ryu was born to two of the greatest ninja in his village. His Father was a legendary kenjutsu and lightning user and his Mother was just as good with water and taijutsu. Ryu found at a young age that he had a kenkai genkia, Ranton (storm release). When his parents found out when he we five they started to train him. He showed great potential in being a legendary ninja like his parents. When he was at the academy, the other kids treated him horribly, and the teachers expected him to be at the bottom of the class. When he graduated the ninja academy, he could use the basic jutsu of both water and lightning, not only that but because of his parents training he graduated at the top of his class.

Once Ryu became a Genin, his parents started to train him in Kenjutsu and Taijutsu. He picked them up quickly and could use the both fluidly in combat. He was soon sent on his first mission with his team, the mission was a trap set for the Jounin leader of the team. The Jounin leader was outnumbered and out matched by the attacking ninja. Ryu stood by him even though the other two genin had fled back to the village, and with the little help from Ryu, the Jounin was able to return to the village a live. The Jounin was a master in Wind and he became Ryu's third sensei. The Chounin exams were coming up and all three of Ryu's teachers prepared him for it. Ryu made it to the final fight and he was getting worked over big time by his opponent. Ryu didnt know how he was going to win, then he remembered a move his dad once showed him, Chidori. Ryu focused and channeled his chakra, he was able to to preform the hand signs and the launched at his opponent, the judges called the fight before Ryu could land Chidori.
