A kitty can be a warm and cuddly critter. They like to lay around in patches of sun and enjoy the weather. Reptiles can be like that too - liking warmth over freezing cold. Cookie was part snake part kitty- so warm patches were a wonderful thing for her.
Presently, her mothers were having some semblance of a picnic. Erigin was sitting on a nice checkered blanket and drinking tea, while Varian - Cookie's elder brother - was playing a game with Lam on the grass. Nearby, however, on a large cushion she'd brought with her, lay a toddler with long pink-and-blonde hair, and soft green eyes (though those weren't visible at the moment).
Cookie was sleeping, enjoying a very large patch of sun and occasionally batting at blades of grass that tickled her nose as she snoozed. Her tail would curl and uncurl as she slept, a soft purring noise easily heard by anyone who walked past. It was utterly cute and utterly pointless. But it was such a nice day.

For a dream fairy, Bailey sure did like being awake. When the sun was smiling down on you and the birds sang it was like energy just poured into the little thing. Since gaining strength, the fae was able to fly high into a tree and perch on a branch to eat it's lunch.
Below, Lo enjoyed a warm cup of coffee. They came to the park often, just the two of them, but it was a rare sight when Bailey broke out on it's own. She couldn't help nervously looking up to make sure her grand-baby was still there. "Sit up against the trunk, okay?" She called.
Bailey nodded and scootched back as far as it could, PB&J all over it's mouth. Looking about, it noticed a group of people, one being a woman who as vaguely familiar and a snake girl. "Cookie!"
"Not until you finish that sandwich."
"No, grammy, Cookie. See?" It fluttered down to the ground and nagged Lo in that subtle way that had her hobbling behind as Bailey ever so cautiously approached the group.

Lam glanced up from her play and waved to the two. "Hey Lo! Hey Bailey!" she called before pointing to the sleeping mass of kitty. "Cookie's over there if you wanna go say hi, kiddo. She's gotten bigger since last time."
At hearing her name, the toddler sat up vaguely and mewed, waving to Bailey and curling her tail. Oh, it was her friend!

Lo took a drink from her styrofoam coffee cup and made a satisfied sigh. "Hello. How have things been since we last met?"
The fae's wings pricked curiously and as it wiped the mess off it's mouth with the back of it's sleeve, it padded over to Cookie. "'Ello. You really are bigger." Bailey sat down beside her. "Your hairs 'iff'n't. I like it!"

"pretty good." Lam laughed before indicating her wife and the dark skinned boy by her. "This is my wife Erigin and our son Varian." she explained before the boy darted off to go explore, his mother distracted obviously.
Cookie made a purring noise, rolling over to rest her head on Bailey's lap. It wasn't much for communication with the fae, but it did indicate she was happy to see it and glad for the compliment.

"Pleasure." Lo smiled. "You two are luck to have not one, but two little cuties on your hands." She watched Varian, but instead of snitching, she let him go. A minute or two on his own couldn't hurt.
Bailey twinged nervously, but ever so slightly moved it's hands to stroke her hair. Wow! So soft. It pet her like a kitty and even scratched the place behind her exposed ear.

Lam rolled her eyes as she watched him sneak off. "he does that." she joked before smiling, "Yeah our kids are kinda nice. But you've got a sweetie too."
Cookie's purring increased in volume, but was still very gentle and soothing to hear. SHe was obviously very content and began to flick her ear to the scratching.

Lo laughed. "I bet he's a handful, isn't he?" She crossed her legs underneath her to sit down on the ground next to the couple, ever coddaling her warm drink. "Oh, I don't know about that. It has it's moments."
She was just like a kitty after all! Bailey gently massaged her ear between it's forefinger and thumb before going back to stroking. It wasn't sure why she was so sleepy now, when she'd been so active before, but this was nice, even if it did make Bailey sleepy.

"You don't know the half of it." Lam commented, "He knows he'll get grounded if he tries to do magic while we're out or he'd be even more trouble."
Cookie yawwwwned a bit, stretching some and smiling up at Bailey. She was starting to wake up much more from her relaxing nap and flicked her tail playfully. "Warm." she said, a little mewl to it. Well, at least she was getting a tad more vocal, right?

"Oooh, now, he's just being a kid." Lo soothed, "Is his magic that destructive? If it's just the regular ol' kind, I don't see the harm in letting him experiment a little bit."
Bailey's mouth made a little 'o'. "You talked." It pointed out, then giggled. "It's cute." The fae's legs were going numb, so it shifted, ever so careful with Cookie, to a more comfortable position. "Why were you nappin'? Didn't you sleep good?"

Lam laughed, "the problem is that it IS the destructive kind. Varian has very powerful magic but trouble controlling it, particularly for more minor purposes. Cookie's not allowed to use her powers much, but that's more inside than out and she's not destructive if there's nothing in her way."
"Warm." Cookie repeated, purring and curling her tail. "Boing?" she inquired, smiling at Bailey as she offered.
One of Lam's pointed ears flicked as she heard the special word. She smiled a bit. Lo might just get to see Cookie's power if Bailey agreed.

Lo covered her mouth with a laugh. "Oh goodness! That poor boy. Poor you. Reminds me of my Bailey. I only let it play music indoors and when no ones around because things get a little tricky."
Bailey pondered. "Sure." Did she want to play leap frog? Or was there some kind of bounce house nearby? It twisted it's head to look, but didn't see anything.

"Just wait till you see." Lam laughed, carefully pointing to Cookie and Bailey.
The little girl had already made a happy mew and sat up, wrapping her arms around Bailey. Immediately, her tail lifted up a good bit before slamming into the ground and - bouncing up? It repeated this before quite suddenly she and Bailey were airborn, zooming around like a chimera-and-fairy missile.

Lo turned around to watch. "She's not going to hurt it, is she?"
It took all of two seconds for Bailey to scream. The fae's eyes were close to buldging out of their sockets as it clung to the chimera. What was happening?! This was....this was....boinging. Oh.
Bailey cautiously looked around, slapping it's braid out of the way when it swung around.

"Nahhhhh." Lam laughed, "Cookie's power is utterly harmless in wide open areas. She just hasn't mastered fully informing friends of what 'boinging' is."
The chimera purred loudly, zooming around a bit with her friend, using her tail to curve them in a circular motion around and past trees.
