Zavrina: *perched upon a branch*

Cassandra walked the edge of the forest with a slight scowel on her face. She had come here long ago and yet she still wasnt used to having no clothes on. She tried to think of things she could use as clothing, but nothing seemed to fit the way she was still used to when she was a princess.

Flicking her tail some as she stared up at the sky, Zavrina pondered her current circumstances. While she certainly did not mind living on this island, the very force that brought her and her brothers here was quite unknown to her. Suddenly, she heard someone approaching. Judging by the noise, she supposed stealth wasn't the other's best skill, though he or she was certainly not a klutz. She waited and watched for the unknown visiter to come into vision in silence.

Cassandra sighed, not even thinking about others that could be prowling the night. Once again, she almost tripped over a small rock and grumbled under her breath. Her feet were soar frum walking on the hard pebbled ground. It seemed to her like she would never get used to the bumpy ground she now had to walk on. She had only ever been in the palace before she was..... She shook the thought out of her head and sat under a nice tree. Breathing deeply as a breeze sang past "Well, at least thats one nice thing about being out of the palace. The breezes here are much nicer."

Zavrina watched in amusement as the other namir strolled beneath her branch unawares. She had gathered from the female's expression that the unobservant nature was likely a result from being curled up within her own mind. Laying down on the branch, letting her tail hang down to sway as she rested her head upon her paws, she smiled slyly. "Do you always speak to yourself while you are alone in the woods?"

Cassandra's fur puffed out in a wave as a shiver ran up her back from the sudden voice. She looked up to see a female "Oh, sorry if I annoyed you with my rambling. I've just gotten used to being the only one to talk to." She paused and looked down at her paws. "Seems like somethings are easyer to get used to then others. And the most odd too."

"It's no annoyance," replied the female honestly. She sat up, offering a more respectful pose to the somewhat condescending manner she had assumed just before. "There are many odd things in this world, not all have a answer rooted in reason. This island appears peaceful, but it is still the wild. One should try not to be careless." She smiled again, thinking on what the other had just said, "It is sad that you have grown used to being alone. I have always had my brothers to keep me company, and I can't really imagine having no one. It seems as though it'd be a terrible position to be in."

Cassandra smiled up at the female. "I like the way you think. And speak. It is refreshing after such a long absence of speach other then my own." She paused as she thought "Hmm, its not exactly that I've grown used to being alone...." Thinking over the words in her head "More as... I've grown used to myself filling the void of others." She chuckled "If that makes any sence." She looked down to stare blankly at the tree trunk. Softly she said "It must be absolutly wonderful to have siblings. All I have ever had was my mother and father. But they are far away now."

"Ah, thank you," Zavrina said with a smile. It wasn't often that her manner of speech was complimented, and such a compliment deserved recognized appreciation. She then pondered a moment, "I am not entirely sure what it means for one to fill a void within the heart on your own, though it still does not seem pleasant. Ideally such a void wouldn't exist in the first place, but life isn't always so ideal." Her tail swayed as she reflected on her brothers. "It's a wonderful thing, family. It is a shame that you will likely never see your parents again, yet again, such is life." She thought again, not entirely sure if the words she would find comfort in would provide the same in another, yet decided to offer her opinion anyhow, "However, if you live the way you believe they would have wanted you to live, and keep in mind that which they have taught you, it is almost as if they are there."

Cassandra nodded "Yes, life can be very unkind sometimes...." Memories weaving through her mind as they flashed through, almost as if to try and creat a wall of sadness. She shook them from her head again and breathed. She listend to what the other female said and frowned. "I'm not exactly sure I would want my parenst with me now. I remember good memories of them. But the last time I saw them wasnt exactly pleasent." She looked up and tried to give a smile "Though I'm sure such a story would bore anyone who would dare sit and listen." Giving a false chuckle to try and make it seem like the thought of it didnt rip her soul in two.

"Ah, that depends on the audience. What bores one may be of interest to another." Zavrina could tell that the other female was hiding something, something hard for her. Too polite to pry, she offered an introduction and a change of subject. "My name is Zavrina. I arrived on this island a few months back."

Cassandra's smile became real at the exchanging of names. It was almost blissful to actually have a conversation and learn someones name. "My name is Cas---- Uhhh, well, I am known as Zahra." Smiling widly. "I have been here for about a year and a half...... I think." She chuckled "Some times days just seem to blend into each other and its hard to keep track. If you dont mind me asking, where are you and your brothers orrigonaly from?"

"A pleasure to meet you Zahra," replied Zavrina with a bow. She wondered how long is truly long on this island, knowing only that kits do not take a long time to mature compared to most 4 legged creatures she knew of. She wondered what sort of creature Zahra was prior to her arrival, though wasn't going to pry. "We are from a forest, I unfortunately do not know what the humans referred to it as."

"Oh?" Cassandra tilted her head. "How do you know you arnt from a forest near by?" She thought for a moment. "I come from a kingdom far from here. It was very lovely. I used to be a princess, and live in a palace." She smiled "One of the things I am still not used to is walking on such hard ground. And aparently I am rather clumsy without my dress on." She thought for a moment "Though... Not having my wings to stable myself could be a part of it I guess." She shrugged then.

"Where I am from there are no creatures known as namrah. While I cannot say for sure that I'm not from a place relatively closeby, I can say that this is not where I am from, nor are the neighboring forests a place familiar to me beyond what I've explored of them thus far," Zavrina explained offhandedly. The fact that there was no reason to think she had had travelled far was for her all the evidence she needs to believe so. "A princess? Yes, moving from such luxury to the wild would indeed be hard." While the fact that she wore clothes hinted that Zahra was once human, wings dismissed that. Zavrina found this rather puzzling.

"Ahhhh, okay." Cassandra nodded "That would make sense. Namrah were in my kingdom... We didnt have humans any where close to it. I hadent even heard of humans till I came here." "I have yet to speak to a human, but... I'm not really sure I'd like to. I know nothing of them really."

"A place without humans? What an isolated area that must be," Zavrina remarked. Soon afterwards she realized it could be taken as an insult and, not wishing to insult when she has no reason or desire to, promptly apologized. "I'm sorry, it is just that where I am from humans seem to be nearly everywhere, and to think of a place without them seems a little odd to me." She supposed such a place would be rather peaceful, existing in the natural order of things without humans bending nature to their own desires.

Cassandra tilted her head at the appology. "Its okay. And yes, it was very nice there. The only problum was we constenly had storms. But that was only three months of the year. We also had these wonderful buildings there. Much more complicated then the things on this island."

A creature of the wild, Zavrina had no interest in that which was built by hand. Instead, she inquired about a matter she would know more about, "What sort of storms? Wind, heavy rain, hail, thunder, or all of the above?" She knew that most if not all areas had all of the different sorts, yet was curious as to which was most prevelant.

"Mostly hard rain and thunder. It is warmer in my kingdom so it rarely hailed or snowed." She shivered thinking of snow. "I dont know how you survive during the winter. Its so COLD here." She frowned and held her arms over her body, as if the thought of it gave her actual chils. "But where I lived, thunder happend constently."

Zavrina chuckled somewhat. "Snow is my element, the weather in which I am most comfortable. Though it is indeed harsh, I'll not deny that." Her tail swayed again, the female glancing around as she often did. "Thunder makes me nervous. I've yet to be hit by it, but the flash and sound still bothers me. Perhaps for the best."

Cassandra' eyes widened "Really? Wow, you must have really thick fur." She then smiled, remembering the thunder fondly "In my old land, thunder was like lullabyes for kits. The rumbling was like nature giving you a nice 3 second massage." She shrugged as she smiled "I guess growing up in different places makes you more used to somethings then others."

"Well, I'm certainly not looking forward to Summer much, though Spring and Autumn are still quite lovely," she stated with an amused smile. Following the remark she nodded, "That is indeed true. The inverse is true as well, the place will often define the creatures who dwell within."

Cassandra nodded and yawned slightly "I am jelous of your clothing. I miss being able to dress in gowns and go to dances. It was very fun and would lift the spirits of the people living closely to the palace."Small tears dwelling in the side of her eyes and she caughed, hoping she could just blink them away and Zavrina wouldnt notice.

Flattered, Zavrina subconsciously sat up a little higher. "I feel a bit privledged to have it, as not all do. My brothers and I all have clothing." She then recalled what had happened to her eldest brother soon after arriving. "As a matter of fact, my eldest brother has assumed a form more similar to humans. I'm not sure how or why, but the island felt fit to bring him closer to the race most known for wearing clothing." She smiled, remembering that he had adopted a little egg as well, and wondered when it'll hatch. She hadn't seen anyone on the island dance as of yet, so she wasn't quite ready to claim that Zahra'd find friends to dance with eventually.

"Oh, how very interesting." She had just recently found out about humans so she couldnt exactly picture what a namir would look like as one. She'd like to see, but she wasnt fond of males and wasnt sure she was ready to see one. "....Is he nice?"

"He has always been kind to me, though I would not promise he'd treat a stranger with such kindness. He certainly isn't cruel, I can assure you of that," commented Zavrina. Always did she feel awkward in judging her brothers in regards to how they would treat strangers. She supposed it was because they were never strangers to her. She relaxed her pose some, feeling a little fatigued. "Are you wishing to meet him?" she inquired with an amused glance, the implication clear yet without any promise to it.

Cassandra nodded. She knew what it was like to think someone was the nicest person in the world and to someone else could seem rather mean. She was oblivious to Zavrina's impications and thought "I'm not sure..... Part of me does to see what a human namir could look like." She paused "But my incounters with males in the past have been very bad and I do not wish to repeat it. Also, I wouldnt want towards others on him and take it out on him..."

"I understand," Zavrina claimed with a nod. Quickly she thought of a compromise, one that wouldn't place Zahra in the midst of a potentially unpleasant conversation yet would still sate her curiousity. "If you go to the clearing, there are often a good number of namrah present. Sometimes there are also humanoid namrah, so if you go there you could see one. They stand on 2 legs, yet have a tail and animal ears. The fur seems to be shorter, and they have hair upon their head, much like I do. That is the general appearance for one."

"Oh, that is very interesting. I feel oddly comfterable around you, do you think we could go together sometime? That way I wont feel as odd for introducing myself."

Zavrina tilted her head. "If I see you around I wouldn't mind speaking with you again. And if you'd rather have someone around to speak with others then I suppose I could stand by." She wondered why it was odd that the other female felt comfortable around her, but she supposed some are just skittish and would find a polite voice comforting.

"Wonderful." She tried to stiffle another yawn and failed. "....I think I should get some sleep though.... If I see you around sometime, I'd love to talk."

Nodding, Zavrina waved goodbye. "Farewell Zahra. Have a pleasant night." With that, she walked off to her own dwelling to rest.
