Princess Serenity and Endymion both had 4 loyal guardians in the manga etc. Serenity had her four inner senshis and Endy had his 4 generals aka Shitennou in the past life.
In the manga, the Tennous were killed off by the girls. After the third Tennou died, all 3 were brought back to life after the Silver Crystal appeared just to be turned into their appropriate stone. Kunzite then regain his memories enough to get his butt pwned and turned into his Kunzite crystal. Endymion which is now possessed by Beryl, took the crystals and shoved them in his pocket, and yadda, yadda
What is weird is that they are now spirits residing in their stones. When ever Mamoru needs advice, he calls upon them. They appear spirit like then a physical form.
Now, this is the odd part. If the 4 girls die x times and be reincarnated, why can't the Tennous be the same instead of spirits residing in a stone? I understand the duties of the girls is to protect their princess and the Silver Crystal, but what about Mamoru? Isn't he the holder of the Golden Crystal? Mamoru isn't like Serenity who has powers to protect himself even if he wanted to. So how come she has guardians and he can't?
Even if we look at the picture. I guess it would be funny to see the Tennous in the modern society and them going to school, and working. Not to mention, keeping tabs on Mamoru.
Maybe I should stay away from fanfics -___-;;

I did read a lot of fanfics of them in the normal society, it was a PGSM fanfics tho, but it was funny. *picturing Jed and Neph competing with the ladies at school* damn xD

Actually, in Act 0 of PGSM (Birth of Sailor V), the 4 of them work as police men, but can't seem to work together, and seem inexperienced.

Yes, it's completely unfair and idiotic, especially after Naoko Takeuchi teased us with that picture of the girls snuggled up to the shitennou.
I think it can be explained by two factors, though:
1. Usagi is a Mary Sue. What Usagi wants, Usagi gets. Everyone else either starts wanting what Usagi wants or gets killed.
2. Thinking is not Naoko Takeuchi's strongpoint.

Four well-trained people backing them up?
That's probably why it never happened, because Usagi isn't known for her tactical prowess. To be blunt, none of the Senshi are, save perhaps Setsuna and maybe Ami.

Makoto is more like Minako, but has a hint of Rei. The General's don't really seem like the kind of people who would live in the real world. They're more like Mamoru's Queen Serenity. The senshi & Mamoru grew up in the real world. It just wasn't meant to be. I also forgot to mention that in PGSM, Kunzite worked at Karaoke Crown after the Darkury arc until he died.

@ Guardian Sailor Pluto That was Nephrite that worked at the Crown. Tho Kunzite was human before Beryl turned him, but it didn't really explained what he did besides residing in some run down place. Again, that was a plot twist that didn't take place in the manga or anime. But it was amusing seeing Neph adapting to the modern society xD I am sure his anime/manga counterpart would be entirely different as in personality wise..

I thought it was Kunzite because he turned Ami into Darkury and then he kept seeing her at Karaoke Crown and they would have these weird moments.
