i herd from sumwhre that paper mario is just a sequel to mario rpg ppl think that the creators accidentally made mario rpg 2 a little to papery and so they made a hole difrent game and then named it paper mario 64 and then went on to the next game etc

*shrugs* I have.. absolutely no idea~! mrgreen
Then again- it seems quite unlikely- I mean.. it's turn based, and most mario games are real time, so... I doubt it'd been planned as a sequel..

Actually, yes, it was planned as a sequel. However, Square Enix split from Nintendo while the game was being produced, so they couldn't make it a sequel.

Yeah. But there is still a realtionship between Paper Mario and Super Mario RPG: The Legend of the Seven Stars.
Clearly the Seven Stars and Star Spirits.
I heard this from someone who's done both and claims that there are some small relations between the two games.
Still, lots of differences though that'll throw that idea out of the way.

But yes, i agree with Destiny. It is a sequel but as she stated they split so the game strayed a bit off from its desired choice but made it into a whole new game.
