Earthchild was now growing up, she had a litter waiting at home for her as she dawdled about, but they were old enough to know better and not leave home without 'Mommy' she loved all her pups, but it was obvious they were not hers. She thought about it a moment and then the thought was gone.

She hadn't had much time to do what she really wanted to and that was learn how to be a healer, she know much of how to heal at all and should have apprenticed when she was younger, but had no time the pups needed her there 24/7, but now she felt a bit more free and quickly found a WD taht may be willing to take her on.

She now searched for Healingwind.

Healingwind was busy in her little glen, where she and her familiar Baka (a maned wolf) had built a proper healing area. Baka was out at the moment gathering some dried bark for one of Ana's healing remedies. Baka was so good at helping out when Ana was busy. And she was busy indeed.

She was busy tending a drying rack she had meticulously built from sticks and rocks, where she had lain several plants out to dry in the sunlight. She was humming to herself, content in keeping watch over her drying herbs as she sat with a wooden bowl at her feet, one she had fashioned with a rounded stone and sand until it was smooth on the inside. Inside this bowl, she had several things beaten almost into a powder. Not far, her otter skin bag sat in the shade containing her most important and dangerous materials.

It didn't take Twana long to find the wild dog named 'Healingwind' she knew no other name for the dog as of yet, just where to find her. And there she was as another pack member had described her, a beauty in Earthchilds eye's. "Hello there..." She mumbled as she approached the busy looking healer. She was unsure about asking, but had some looks of approval as she bounded about.

Maturity in this wild dog was at it's peak, even only being an adolescent she had gained maturity at a younger age due to Mothering that litter. "Are you Healingwind?" She asks, her tail wagging lightly, eye's glittering their pink and green.

Ana ground the stone against the wooden bowl in a smooth rhythm, humming to herself a tune in which she made up long ago. She wasn't old, by far from it, but so full of knowledge that she appeared older than she was. She lifted her head upon hearing the paw pads of a stranger, a white and yellow female, younger. Healthy. She smiled in a friendly way.

"Yes." She said, nodding her head. "I healingwind." She confirmed, giving her bowl one more good press and grind before setting the stone aside and picking the bowl up in her jaws, gently carrying it over too a small fire she had started. It wasn't blazing but the coals were warm and glowing red still, and she set down the bowl beside the fire, standing and walking over to her cave. "I help?"

The first thing Twana noticed was the speech, it missed some things word was, but so far made sense, the others had warned her of it. "Yes please. I come here looking to become your apprentice, I seek your knowledge in healing." Twana smiled broadly, she was finally heading down the path she wanted, since she was a pup she had wanted to help others, learn to heal and savor in the healthiness of another.

"Would you let me?" She asked cautiously, she didn't know how the other may react, Twana was young, youngsters often went astray after time, but she didn't plan that and therefore forced all her sincerity into her eye's, hoping desperately the wild dog would take her, she wanted this so badly and the wild dog seemed very nice.

Ana looked at this young dog in complete thought. She wanted to be an apprentice? Hm. Ana had never taught someone how to heal. She had healed plenty of creatures though, but never taught it to others. She sort of just, did it naturally. She bent down and picked up a water skin, pulled loose the stopper and poured water into the bowl. She looked down at the bowl and picked up a stick with a fork at the end, and used it to fish out a rock that was glowing red and placed it into the water, where it steamed and popped.

She was essentially boiling water.

"Apprentice?" She asked. "Watch and learn and help healingwind?" She looked over at the girl. "Name?" She asked.

"Yes, oh yes please!" She sat up straight, posture being one of her strong suits when she got excited. "My name is Uhm..." She paused a moment and staggered to her Peke Na name. "My name is Earthchild." She smiled simply, her real name, how she missed it so badly. It almost made her miss the parents she had basically left at birth.

"Earthchild," she repeated and continued "..What are you doing?" She asked the dog, unsure of the process currently going on in front of her, curiosity over saw her moment of needing to be silent. She should have sat still and awaited something to be said from Healingwind before speaking again herself.

Ana nodded her head and made a note to memorize the child's name. She smiled. Earthchild. what a beautiful wolf name, she rather liked it. She looked down to her doings and smiled, trying to think of the proper words to use. "Hot water make special herb work. Testing to see if plant strong enough now." She plucked the now cooled rock out of the water and replaced it with another hot one.

"Work with many plant." She looked down to observe the water starting to roll with a boil. "Easy to do"

Earthchild took a few paw steps forward, when better to start learning then now. "May I.. try?" She asked slowly, unsure if she could get away with asking to do such things just yet, she wasn't sure how Healingwind would want to teach, she didn't quite grasp the speech problems just yet, but that may come as more talking is involved.

Ana stepped aside slightly so Earth child could see. She nodded when the question arrised. She stepped aside fully. "Just careful to not drop rock. Hot on toes... not good" She said in her broken language. She sat back wanting to observe her new apprentice and her skill. "Always keep good round rock near. Also good rounded stone and sand make bowls good too." She noted.

"Easy to do hard for first time"

The healer had stepped aside, quite an honor, Twana thought. She held her head high and excitedly before leaning in to rescue the now chilled rock from the near boiling water. After taking it free from its' boiling resting place she set it aside in neat collaboration with the other ones that Healingwind had moved.

"Now..I just.." Her words get lost with a mumble as she grabs up the next rock and brings it to the bowl. Setting it inside as the others had been. "Is that how it goes?" She asks, taking a slow step back. Worried she may have taken a wrong step or something.

Ana chuckled as the young ones nervousness was over come. "Easy." She said, nodding with approval. "Easy just practice!" She said, her odd colored eyes bright and cheerful. She was enjoying the company of this young female.

"Yes. Easy easy." She said, nodding her head. It was so particularly easy but did take a steady paw and a calmness. "Makes special things come out of plants into water. Sick can drink water easier than eat plants." She added.

This made sense to Twana. "Well.. i know when I'm sick, eating is the last thing on my mind!" She chuckled warmly, becoming quite fond of the wild dog quickly.

"So, what do we do when the water is boiled, just put the plants in the pot?" She asks, her head tilting slightly to the side, ears carrying with the motion and tail twitching behind her, she was excited about finally learning the practice she had been praying she'd learn since she was a pup.

Ana nodded her head. "Plants sit... erm... steep. Sit and let important parts out. Then cool. Drink." She said, an order of importance in her voice. "Not too long steep or too much. Not to little steep or two little." She looked serious. "More sick more time. Less sick less time. Always test. " She dipped her toe into the bowl and licked it, tasting it. "Almost perfect. Practice. Then you can tell easy."

She sat back so that earthschild could try it. "This simple drink for upset stomach."

Twana listened to her just as seriously as she was speaking the lesson. Whether the female she was listening to had a speech impediment or not was nothing to her, the lesson was the important part.

She looked and watched the paw. "To heal sick tummies, I'll have to get you to teach me how to make the fire for thsi. I have 12 little stomachs at my den who may need thsi someday." She smiled fondly at speaking about her stomach and then moved to dip a single toe in the serum. The proceeded to lick the toe and then hold back a cringe, it tasted almost bitter, but she presumed plants would do this.
