Peca yawned as she moved the desert, Xx'a had been a sweetheart today and releived her from her duties as a mother as well as her duties on the pack council. Today she had spent her time laying under a tree in the rouge lands. It wasn't that she didn't enjoy her life as a mother and a pack member, but she had just been thrust into it so fast. One day she wondered in, then before she knew it she had a mate, and cubs that called her momma even though she hadn't birthed them.

Peca sighed, she felt guilty for thinking this way, the pack had been so good to her, and those wonderful pups had never done a thing wrong in their lives, they were so good, it was just .... a lot. Yet in the back of her head Peca knew she wanted more... she wanted a litter that she birthed.... one that would have her colors instead of the colors of a stranger.

Nav'hian moved across the desert with quick, strong movements. He was a large lion, though most of his size was pure fluff, though not many came close enough to realise that. Instead they saw a bulky lion that they assumed had a lot of muscles. They would be wrong, of course, but Nav'hian liked the idea they had gotten it wrong. Afterall, it stopped people from attacking him, his size.

He was looking out for another female, to attempt to capture. The last one had slipped away, and he soon caught the scent of another creature. He perked up, and crept closer, only to discover it was not the same species. In fact, it wasn't even a feline. How disappointing. Still, he began to approach her.

-

Peca lifted her head as she heard the approach of someone else. She hadn't been able to catch the sent as teh wind was travelling in the wrong direction. She turned a and sat up to look more approachable, and less vunerable.

She saw that it was a lion that was coming her way, she wasn't overly nervous, she had spent many years before settling in a pack and had encountered lions before, this lion was very large though. "Hello" she said lightly, she was an overly polite hyena.

-

Nav'hian had nothing against non-feline, but they were useless to him as banu. What was the point of taking a female who could not bear heirs for him? Still, perhaps it would be nice to meet a female he did not feel the urge to clober and drag back to his pride.

“Greetings,” he responded to her polite words. He paused, stumped for what else to say. He was...not use to talking to a female he wasn't planning on capturing. Well, this was odd. “Lovely day, isn't it?” He remarked, feeling rather stupid as soon as he'd said it.

-

Peca smiled, it was obvious that the lion was at a loss for words, and that was ok with her. "It is a great day." she said not trying to seem like she cared too much abotu his awkward strat to the conversation.
"What is a lion such as you such as your self doing out here in the desert all on your own?" she asked with a smile, really it wasn't uncommon for animals to live in the desert but it was always interesting to hear others stories

-

Nav'hian tensed a the question, but tried to shrug away his awkwardness. “I was simply wandering. I hadn't realised I had wandered quite this far though,” he admitted, glancing at the surrounding desert with distaste. It wasn't often you found people wandering in the desert, so he had avoided it as often as he could, but caught up in his own thoughts, he hadn't taken notice of where he was going.

He returned his gaze to the hyena female, curious. “And you? What are you doing out here on your own?” He had thought they were pack animals, like Lions, but then again, Nav'hian was without his pride, so perhaps this female was without a pack.

-

Peca smiled, "Oh I am not on my own, I have a pack that is not that far from here, I just got the day off from my duties and I thought I would revisit my old life. Until recently I was a rouge, its a big change going from the desert to a home." she said all of this with a smile on her face.

Peca had wondered from the time she was an adolescent tll just a few months ago, it had been wonderful and action packed, but now her life was a whole new type of adventure.

-

Nav'hian looked surprised. He hadn't scented the other hyenas. Was he become lazy in his senses? That was not a good thing. “I'm sure it would be,” he remarked, before adding, “it's just as big a change going from a home like, to rogue.” He hated the change, of course, but he could sympathise. He would have rpeferred to be a rogue, becoming a pride/pack member though, instead of the other way around.

“What are you duties?” He asked, hoping to gather some information on her pack. He was always curious about them, but had held little interest in other lion prides, so he had steered clear of them. This time, he wanted to know.

-

Peca smiled at the chance to talkabout her pack awesome, if there was two things she could talk about it was her pack and her family. "I am a member of the council in my pride." she said with a fair amount of confidence in her voice. "As a member of the council I am responsible to make sure that all members of the pack are hear, meaning I have to talk to all the members, there is hyenas and wilddogs there. Its not a huge pack yet but its getting there."

"Of course there is also my responsibilites as a mother, I have a group of little ones at home that call me momma." she said this with a smile on her face.

-

He listened interested to her speak of the pack. It sounded like a nice place, like a large family. Perhaps that's what all packs and prides were about? He hadn't met any others that weren't similar in some way to his own, which was a good thing. “Sounds like you are an important member of the pride...pack,” he corrected himself, looking curious. “Are they sure they could spare you for a day?” His mouth quirked up into a faint smirk, though it was not done with malicious intent, more like a gentle tease.

“Oh, you have pups,” he said, sounding disinterested. He didn't care for children. They were adorable, but at a distance. Of course, he wanted heirs some day, but that was not for a while still, and it would be solely the mother's responsibility to tend to them, except for the sons.

-

"Oh they can spare me even if its a full day, my mate it one of the leaders of the pride so he can cover me for the day. She thought that she noticed a hint of flirtation in his voice. It made her blush. But before she was even able to comprehend how to respond to such a situation his voice changed. Ah the pup issue, some creatures just didn't like offspring, though they would have to come around to them if they wanted to spread their genes, but she hoped that it would be more then that pups needed love.

"Yes I have pups, kind of, it is a hard thing to explain really. They call me their mother but I didn't birth them." She shook her head it wasnt the hardest thing in the world to explan but at the same time it was complicated for those around her to understand her family situation if they didn't have it explained to them.

"How about you do you have a home?" she asked

-

He was mildly surprised at her comments of the pups. “They are not your kin and yet you allow them to call you mother?” He asked. That was something that happened in his pride, he knew, as the Banus all took claim over the Pads cubs, no matter if they were birthed by them or not, but this was new. Had her mate taken another female as well, like the males in his pride, or was it simply a matter of adoption? He was curious now.

He puffed out his chest lightly, at the mention of his home. “Yes, but it is far from here,” his shoulders slumped a little at that. “The Ukuucha'Wafalme. It's a lion pride closer to the great lakes. I am out...finding new members for the pride and have not found someone to return with, and so I cannot return alone.” Well, that was simplifying matters a bit much, but it was easier to say it that way, then explain the harems.

-

It is confusing, the pups are the blood of my mate and another, the other has left now and I have taken the responsibilities the pups know nothing about it though." she said, it was of course simplifying the story but it had the most important points. She nodded as if it was just that simple and there wasn't a doubt in her mind, but then she added, "Thugh one day I think I want pups with my colors." she said it with a smile, the hyena had been thinking a lot about this lately.

"Hmm that is interesting." she said in regards to his home, since being in the pack she hadn't met all that many travellers and hearing about prides of others was interesting. "It must be an adventerous job to be out finding more members to bring home." she added for good measure. Peca could be awkward in social interaction often unsure of what she should say.

-

Nav'hian was slightly confused by this idea, but had to hand it to the female, she was doing a good job of staying happy through a rather awkward situation. “You are a strong female, to take on another's pups as your own, especially being your mate and anothers.” He looked over her coat and smiled lightly, nodding. “Pups with your colours would be lovely, I'm sure, and would give your...pups younger siblings to play with.” It was a nice idea, but Nav'hian was still not keen on the idea of babies.

He nodded his head, giving a humming noise in affirmation. “It is adventurous. I have travelled long and far, and somehow ended up here?” He chuckled, the sound was low and rumbling, like thunder. He glanced around, wondering, just how he had somehow managed to end up in the desert of all places, talking to a hyena. It was not how he imagined his day, that's for sure.

-

Peca smiled at the compliment, "I do hope that you are right about my pups, I do at hope that I have my own pups will come soon. But all this talk of my pups has made me home sick. I do hope you will forgive me for cutting this interaction short." she smiled politely she didn't want the lion to think of her as rude.

-

Nav'hian nodded, aware that she would be missing her pups, even if they weren't actually her pups. He inclined his head. “You are not rude. I find it refreshing to see that you care for them,” he smiled lightly at her, and moved away slightly, giving her permission to leave as she wished. “I wish you all the best, you and your family.” He inclined his head, glad to have gotten to speak with her, only for a little while. Hyenas were not people he had spoken to often, but she seemed nice. Perhaps he would seek out more hyenas to converse with, someday.

-

Peca gave a quick nod of thanks and then turned and made her way rapidly back to her pack, day off or not she missed the pups and couldn't wait to see each one of their faces.
