Kabichi padded out, in a rare contented mood as she saught the dark-pelted male whom was spending time with her. She was feeling better, and the lioness practically danced as she moved, peering about before spying the male.
Sairin was studying a meerkat hole when Kabichi pounced, laughing like a cub. Sairin blinked, knocked down by the much tinier female, and looked to her in surprise.
"Hello, Kabichi." He blinked. Kabichi purred in his ear, giving him a lick and rolled off happily.
"Hello!" The female beamed, and Sairin raised an eyebrow.
"Your in a good mood."
"Just happy to see you." Kabichi beamed, and Sairin blinked.
"Happy? To see me? Why?" He snorted. "I'm a codger."
"I just am." Kabichi rubbed aghauinst him, and Sairin blinked. Oh. OH no. The male gently pushed her away.
"Oh no, I see wherte your going, Kabichi. And your makingh a mistake." Sairin sighed. He understood love, but he didn't want her to simply rebound so easily off him and get hurt.
"Why?" Kabichi tilted her head. Sairin sighed.
"Your in rebound. If we got into a relatuionship, it can only end badly." Sairin sighed. Kabichi blinked, looking crushed.
"But.... I...."
"I'm sorry... But it is. It's rebound. I'm, not good for you. I cvan't-- won't settle." He sighed. "I want to share my love with everyone.
"Why not me?! Can't you share it with me?" Kabichi begged. Sairin was sdilent, thinking of how Elua shared her love, then sighed.
"I suppose... But..." He looked to her sadly. "If we do so, I have to leaqve. You'd have company after a time, but.... Not me."
Silence, damnable silence before Kabichi nodded, understanding. He'd leave her with cubs... But.. Not himself. She was silent again, thinking.
"...I can acceopt that. Buit... They'll want for a father."
Sairin studuied the smaller lioness silently. He himself only met his father once, and had been rejected. Not his cubs. No, no child of his needed that.
"...I will come see them. I... Also grew up fatherless,"
Kabichi blinked, then nodded.
"...I... I can accept that."
Sairin nodded.
"That's good... But don't get hung up on me, regardless... Find someonbe. Promise me."
"I... I promise I'll try..."
Sairin nodded. In this arera, 'try' was better than not, and her turned to the dens. Kabichi rose, following him.
"Sairin..."
"Eh?" The oloder male looked over his shoulder.
"Thank you."
"Nnn." He grunted, and retreated to the dens. Kabichi smiled,m and follopwed him within.
