After the rest that night, they had begun their journey. Now, a few days later, they were very close to their destination. Warrick felt proud to have helped the female find herself a new place to call home.. But he was also happy he had found a new friend, and he and the female seemed to have hit it off rather well. Grissom had taken a shine to her rather quickly.
"We're almost their, Okugi." He said, looking over at her with a smile. He gave a smile to her reassuringly. He had lead them to the right place.. or at least they were almost there.
"We might be there by nightfall," he nodded, and noted that the sun had only barely just hung high in the sky.
"Keep up Grissom." He replied, looking to his son who quickly picked up the pace. _________________________________________________
He walked at Okuki's heels, smiling up at her as he tried his hardest to keep up with the larger adults. He was happy to hear that they were almost there, he was ready to sleep for a good whole day!
"See, this wasnt so bad." He said, and began nodding.

Okugi followed not too far behind Warrick, smiling softly when he mentioned they were almost there. She'd warmed up to the two rather quickly herself, falling for the caring father and his adorable son. She nods to Warrick and swishes her tail from side to side and lightly whaps Grissom on the nose with it. "You're right trooper. You sure do set a tough pace!" She chuckles, keeping up with Warrick fairly easily despite the injury she'd done to her paws before she'd met them. She kept thinking to herself over and over that it was a good idea to have come with them. If she hadn't she would have most likely still been fleeing from the wind rustling the leaves in the trees, or a rabbit scuffling on the forest floor. She recognized she was weak on her own and that she needed a pack, and it seemed as if the gods had dropped this two on her to help her out.
As she watched Warrick walk, she came close to being hypnotized by the way his pelt caught the light and shifted as he moved. Then she blinked, giving her head a tiny shake and wondering what was coming over her. "Nightfall sounds good." She says, trying to focus on what was going on again.

He smiled, looking to the coal grey female pleasantly. He was happy they had met, she was going to change him. He could already see that Grissom was close to considering her a mother figure.. He was young enough to still want one after all.. Warrick kept that in mind, but he also had given himself quite some time now to heal from the wounds. He was much more open now, considering her a part of their family really. He felt protective of her.
"Yes it does. It will be nice to curl up in a den and actually sleep in safety." He chuckled, and looked to Warrick as she whapped him on the nose. He laughed a bit, and shook his head, enjoying watching the antics of the two quite often.
"Grissom comes from strong blood. He takes after his father." He said proudly, always happy to say something nice about his boy. ______________________________
Grissom smiled, and opened his maw as if he would bite her paw, but he just started laughing and pounced at her. He was happy with the way life was going right now. It almost seemed to bring him a fair ray of hope.
"Yeah! I have to be a trooper. Otherwise, Id be considered weak, and no one likes a weak male." He chanted as if someone had told him the saying before.
He stood a bit taller and chuckled. "Well.. at least a weak pup for now anyway."

Okugi chuckled at Grissom's remark, looking at Warrick with her brow raised as if to question if the older male had taught him this. Then she just shakes her head and ruffles the fur on top of Grissom's head with her muzzle. "Yeah, a safe place to sleep sounds wonderful. It's been so long..." She mutters, looking wistful for a moment before smiling again and nudging the young pup forwards. She looked back at Warrick, wondering briefly why her heart fluttered at the very sight of him. She thought maybe that she was starting to like the male, and she hoped she could make him happy. He was starting to become more open around her, which she was glad for since she'd taken a liking to the both of them. Her only fear was that he would no longer want to see her once they came to the new Pack.
These thoughts didn't so much as flicker across her face as she smiled at him, her tail waving slowly from side to side as she walked.

While she was thinking, he was also deep in thought. Caught between the taboo of falling in love again, and the way she looked at him. He couldnt see her attraction to him, but he wondered what would happen once they got to the pack.. He briefly wondered if she would find someone much more suitable for her there. Then he hoped with all his heart she wouldnt. He was sure she completed their family, but whether she wanted to or not, only time would tell. He grinned, and nodded, slowing his pace as he turned to look at her. She was beautiful, and the way the sunshine hit her darker pelt, she seemed to glow. He took a deep breath, shaking his head, but he caught his blue eyes back on her.
"So what are your plans Okugi, when you get to your new pack?" He asked happily, though he had other reasons to wonder. He wouldnt push himself on her.. never.. But if she mentioned staying with them, he knew he would feel a puff of pride.
"Its like a brand new start for you, isnt it?" He asked her.

Okugi paused when he asked her that, thinking it a little sppoky since she'd been about to ask him the same thing. Her ears pricked forward and she continued to walk, her paw steps light and quiet on the forest floor. "I'm...not sure what I'll do. I suppose I'll ask if they need a healer, or a pup sitter." She said with a shrug, getting a little excited at the idea of being useful to an organized group of wolves. "And it will be, but..." She said, trailing off for a moment and staring off into the distance. Then she turned and looked at Warrick out of the corner of her eye. "I was wanting to spend it with you." She says in a tiny voice, flattening her ears and thinking she sounded like an idiot. Her heartrate quickened and her fur raised up just a tad. She hoped he wouldn't be too put off by the remark.

The last female Warrick had taken, had felt the same..But when she left, he supposed that he would never have felt that again. Why would anyone want to be with a failed lover? Of course.. he had always said it was because he was a hero, not a lover.. Could you be both? But he knew you could, and he took a deep breath, but looked at her with a crook of his lip in a smile.
"You want to be with me? What makes me so special? You would want to become a mother?" He asked, looking to his son, knowing anyone he took would have to be okay with being a mother to his boy. He couldnt stand the idea of his son living alone without having a mother to care for him.
"Are you sure?"

The quiet grey colored female nodded solemnly, then gave her tail a hesitant wag. She scooted a little closer to him and pressed her own warm body against his. "Yes. Yes I want to be a mother and yes I want to be with you." She says in a soft, but determined voice. She felt relieved now that she'd finally gotten her feelings off her chest and her posture relaxed even more. She licked him underneath his chin and smiled at him. "I want to be with you both." She says firmly as she looks over at Grissom as well.

Warrick felt his reserved wall melt away, as she pushed her body into his. He felt her warmth, and he missed that feeling. He took a deep breath to still his beating too fast heart. He gave a smile, licking her cheek before nuzzling her a little with a sigh.
"You must be a good female indeed, to want to mother a pup that you did not give birth to. I might not deserve you." But he looked to his pup and smiled assuringly, and looked back at Okugi.
"But I know he does. And if its with me and him you want to be, then I dont see why not." He said with a warm smile. _______________
Grissolm looked up with a big smile on his maw, tail thumping against the earth from where he sat. He was going to have a mother now? He wasnt sure how excited he would be when that time came, and here he was wanting to run to her and just tackle her with kisses and puppy whines. Of course, no true knight tackled with kisses.. But it didnt stop him from wanting to.
"Really Okugi?" He asked in his innocent voice.

Okugi relaxed even more as Warrick returned the affection. She sighed softly and pressed herself more closely against him and proceeded to give him small little licks and nuzzles. "I'm just a female, nothing more." She says honestly as her tail twines with his. "I love you both and I'd never give this up." She murrs as her calm and quiet gaze rested on Grissom. "Really Grissom. Now are you going to come and give your new mother a kiss?" She asks him in a lightly teasing manner and smiles reassuringly to him. She didn't want to ruin her new family with her shy ways, so she thought she might try and be a little bolder for the both of them. But that would take time and a lot of effort on her part.

He smiled, and nudged her again before looking to his son with a bright grin. His son had someone now, as did he.. He could look forward to a life with more pups.. a life with more of a future than it had seemed.. Things were just working out.
"We're close." He said with a grin, nuzzling into her and standing, before beginning to head off into the shadows once more, waiting for her to follow.

He squealed, running at her and tackling her with a force that was equal to that of a pup.. He wasnt strong, but he was strong enough. Licking at her face with his small tongue, his tail wagged like crazy. He had a mother now! Someone to call mother! And he liked her, so that was a plus. He was always afraid father would choose someone he wouldnt like. This was so much better!
"Eee! Im so excited. We can do so much, and you can train me to be a knight with dad! And and.. You can be the Lady of the den!" He said with excitement.

Okugi chuckled and nuzzled Warrick back as he padded off. She paused though to lick Grissom on top of his head and nuzzle him. "I'm excited too. I'll be the best mother I can be and take care of you to make sure you grow up into a strong Knight." She says with a murr as she wraps one foreleg around him and hugs him to her. Then she playfully nudges him and starts to walk towards Warrick. "Come on slow poke." She lightly teases and swishes her tail from side to side.
She finally had a family, a life, and a future. It seemed like things were finally looking up for the quiet female.

Grissom watched his father take off into the shadows, and he looked back towards the female that was going to.. hopefully be his future mom. He liked her, something about how gentle she was made him like her..Well..that, and the fact that she liked to play and seemed young enough to be able to play quite easily.
"Im not slow! I bet I beat you!" He grinned, bouncing around her feet and he nipped her ankles gently. Looking up at her with hopeful eyes, he darted into the shadows with a giggle.
"Cant beat me!" He called.

Okugi laughs quietly and bounds forward after the young pup. He was an adorable bundle of rambunctious fur. She loved him and Grissom. Her heart warmed at this thought and seemed to grow larger. Instead of overtaking him with her long legs she trailed just behind him. "Oh no! You're beating me!" She says with a chuckle and exaggerates her running to make it look like she was working hard to catch up. While she thought he might have to be taught some hard lessons later, she figured for now he should enjoy his childhood.

"Dont fall behind!" Warrick called back, looking behind him at the playing youngster and their new companion. He supposed he should let the pup play but he would have to keep up on them for now. He wanted nothing more than to get where they were going. Then, once they were there, they could relax. He paused, and gave a smile, before motioning ahead with his head.
"Cmon guys. A few days treck and we're golden." He grinned, and continued. Life..was going to be okay.
