Nuit had left the company of that...that insufferable female, and gone lookng for Saburo. He needed someone who understood, someone who wouldn't look down on him for his beliefs in pacifism. He sighed and flopped down, ears back. That girl had gotten under his skin and thensome! The dark lion hid his head under his paws and groaned.
Luckily for Nuit, Saburo had gone looking for him as well. He had a new necklace in his jaws, looking rather proud of himself for the leather and feather concoction. So when he found his best friend looking rather down, he was highly confused. "Eh? What's wrong Nuit? You look like someone trampled over your mother's tail."
Nuit looked up with golden eyes and sighed. "Ugh...I ran into a rather infuriating female today. She kept questioning things, kept trying to debunk our beliefs in pacifism. She just...ARGH!" He covered his eyes with his front paws "It was like she knew every button to push to get me mad! I walked away before I could do something I'd regret."
Saburo sat next to his friend and put the necklace down. "Oof. That sounds pretty rough, man. You normally do okay with girls. What was really different about this one?" Saburo got himself comfy, in case it was a long story. With Nuit, one never knew.
The dark lion sighed. "For one, she was a fighter. From another pride, that seeks knowledge. She said she was on a sort of rite of passage. She wondered if I had anything I could share." He shook his head. "And that was when our arguing started. She was such a good-natured lioness to start with. How could one like her want to fight? It makes no sense."
Saburo shrugged. "I have no idea, my friend. I don't know why anyone would really want to fight. It's such a dirty thing. Creatures get hurt enough without fighting." He grinned and flopped onto Nuit. "Cheer up! She's probably gone now! And I brought you something. A present for my best bud!"
Nuit perked up a bit. "Oh? What is it?" He loved Saburo's creations! They were wonderful, and the ones Saburo made for him were amazingly sturdy. Probably so Nuit would never have to worry during a hunt. "Show me~"
Saburo chuckled and reached a paw out to grab the necklace. Hooking it on a claw, he raised it up so Nuit could see. "Ta-da! I finished it not long ago. Came looking for you so I could give it to you." He promptly slipped it over Nuit's head and mane. "Another of Saburo's one of a kind creations!"
Nuit wiggled the necklace around a bit, until it fell right. "It looks good, Saburo. You should see if there's anyone willing to trade some hunting for something crafted by you. I know how much you can't stand hunting." It was another thing he and Saburo shared...a strong dislike of needing meat to survive.
The leopard blinked and smiled. "Hey...that's an idea that might work." He grinned and chuckled sheepishly. "Though I wish I didn't need meat to survive at all. Just being able to eat grass would be a wonderful idea, don't you think?" What sort of friendships did predators like them miss out on because they hunted those smaller than them? It saddened Saburo to think of it.
Nuit nodded. "Yeah. But sadly, we're carnivores. Perhaps one day, we'll find a way around it." He did have ONE good thing to share though..."By the way, Ajali found a plant that can help when you get a feather-cut. It takes away that annoying twinge and helps it heal cleanly."
Saburo perked up. "Really! Oh that's perfect!" He got up, grinning. "Well, let's go! I've got some more plans with the collection of feathers I've found, so that plant will come in handy~" Nuit's baboon friend was a lifesaver!
Nuit laughed and got up as well, feeling much better now. "Come on. Ajali's always happy to see you anyways. Who knows, maybe you can bribe him for some of his ointments! He can make better ones than me, since he's got that thumb-thing." He did envy the baboon for his thumbs. He started for his friend's den, light on his feet.
Saburo followed Nuit, bumping shoulders with the lion once he caught up. It was good to see his friend in his normal good mood again. "We can stop off at my den, so I can grab a couple things to bribe him with!" Yes...he had a few creations perfect for the healer-baboon.
