 Mairead fitted an arrow to her bow, raising it and releasing the poisonous arrow. It hit the target perfectly, and she grinned, before pulling out another arrow. She angled it so that it spliced the first one open. Enjoying herself now, she pulled out another arrow for her ash bow and continued to practice.

Taking her time, Claire slowly arrived at the field. Having no bow of her own, though, the girl went over to pick a bow with easy bend that was her size. Once that was done she shouldered a quiver that was filled with bows and picked a target. Gently she adjusted her stance, knocked an arrow, then rose the bow. Making sure it was even and her frown hand was about nose level. She pointed the bow steadily to the target and pulled back. She just managed to pull the string at her bow when her grip on the string faltered and the arrow shot forward. It angled upward then seemed to have lost what ever force kept it up and started to fall down, hitting one of the top rings. Claire grumbled but prepared another arrow to try again.

 Adonia walked down the path to the Archery Range, holding her bow tightly in her left hand. She was surprised to see Claire there. "Hey," she called, raising her hand in a half wave as she came over and set up next to Claire. She quickly fitted an arrow and pulled back, releasing the arrow at the peak. The arrow shot forward, hitting the outer side of the bullseye. She gave the shot a twisted smile. "Not bad," she said, turning to Claire.

Claire laughed weakly, hanging her head in defeat, "Guess we found another thing your better at then me," She joked letting fly her second arrow. It hit better, but still only the third ring in. At least it was even with the bulls eye. Knocking another arrow, Claire tried again, only to get the exact same spot on the other side of the bulls eye. Claire stared blankly at the target. "I think, I need stronger arms to hold this thing straight..." She muttered with a sigh, knocking another arrow.

Adonia grimaced. "To be honest Claire, I'm not that good at archery." She showed her the bow. "This one might work better for you. It was built specifically for children of Zeus." She smiled. "Don't worry Claire. You'll find your strength."

Shrugging, Claire chimed, "Eventually, for now I think I'll stick with running and drawing," She shot the arrow and watched as it flew, above the center but a little higher then last time. Grumbling Claire tried again only to get a result not much better. Ruffling her hair slightly, Claire nibbled on her lip trying to think up a pattern or something that would help.

Adonia smiled at the pouting face Claire used. She notched another arrow, which this time flew into the ring outside the bullseye. She stuck out her tongue before notching another. "I wonder where Gabriel and Kevin are..." she wondered aloud. "Oh! You still haven't met Gabriel, have you?"

Claire shook her head, "I haven't," She agreed putting the bow and quiver back where she found them. "Though haven't really sat still all that much, wandered around mostly drawing things yesterday." She shrugged, the only times she had spent staying still where when she was talking to Skylar and when Adonia was helping her with her 'Zeus-ness'.

"He's a Boreas child. He's been very helpful in the past...but Lyra doesn't like him much, for the same reason Skylar doesn't like me." Adonia said, whispering the last bit. She straightened her bow, and this time, the arrow hit closer to the middle. "Speaking of which, have you asked Skylar why he hates me so much?"

Listening quietly, though when questioned she paused before speaking, "I never really got a straight answer. I asked if he disliked Zeus, he said is was more of a family rivalry thing like our Fathers," She replied, unsure if she should add the part of him not disliking her, though also not sure if she should have passed the information to Adonia.

Adonia sensed what Claire was saying, or rather wasn't saying. "But he likes you..." she said slowly. "Because you're not like a Zeus child..." She sighed. "Ask him who he prefers: Winston Churchill or Adolf Hitler. If he says Winston, then it just proves he only dislikes me because of Zeus."

Claire nodded weakly, though she didn't know the exact reason why Claire figured that was the reason. On the other hand, Adonia's next words left Claire very confused, "Huh? What does that have to do with this?" She questioned, not getting how the question proved anything.

"Forget it," Adonia said quickly, feeling it would get Claire into hot water. "Let's just say neither side is really innocent." She put down her bow and opened up a coke. "Want one?" she asked.

Still very confused, Claire just nodding, "Okay," She mumbled. Curiously Claire watched Adonia grab a drink, when offered Claire shook her head, "No, I'm fine. Not all that fond of Coke either though..." Claire smiled with a weak laugh. Stretching again Claire brushed some of her hair into place, "Anything interesting happen during my leave. I've heard something about a cyclops..."
