As the winter winds blew back to whence they came, contemplative thoughts rested toward the mountain's base. The trees rustling playfully as the wind blew amongst them while the birds chirped happily. Everything was in calm, a harmony felt by all the creatures that stepped along the fresh spring grasses now sproting everywhere. There was balance at last, a solace that touched one single mare this evening.
She stood silently as the human girl Tirranna slowly worked salve into her still unhealed reminder. That burning feeling that she understood why her heart longed to protect those she loved. In those times of recent destiny she had learned hate but compassion had over ruled. Her understanding had brought new friends as her feelings burned deep within her heart. Everything she knew had happened was indeed for a reason.
Closing her eyes she breathed deeply letting her ears take in the soft sounds of her human companion as she brushed and stroked the mare's coat. She whickered with an appreciative sound deep in her breast. if it wasn't for this girl and her own mate, the ice mare would of faded back unto the frost from where she was born. But, things take turns in unexpected guises and then even that is not set in stone.
So when her eyes flickered open the incoming scene wasn't a harboring nightmare but a warning as she focused. If it had been ages beforehand she would have have been more erratic. Instead she took Tirranna into her thoughts and stood steady, though her limbs and muscles were twitching to aid the incoming injured creature with her child in a panic.

The sun was setting which lead more terror sinking deep in Kunai's sanity. What had just happened? Why did it happen? Her leg burned horribly from where Sasuke's hooves had struck her. She knew she was bleeding but not how badly as the feeling was not as horrid as what had played out.
Simply put her feelings for Sasuke were at a loss now. He was a thorn that rested deep in her side and plagued her support of his children. No she wouldn't let him consider them his even if he did have a change of heart. He purposely used her as an outlet to his anger. His recent display proved two things; hateand uncertainy now burned in his tortured heart. But really wasn't that the case long before this with his brother's actions she asked herself.
Moving rapidly she steered Chidori toward the place of the human that friended the great elder. She couldn't recall if she had ever graced Celendria's attention, but now it was enevitable. She had no choice as she tried holding back her tears of hate for Sasuke. The one stallion she had grew bto love as her teacher standing alongside Naruto had always been a greater image to her. Now he was nothing but a monster as she took each stride, each painful step toward someone who could settle her fears. Well she hoped that was the outcome of all this anyway.
Lifting her head she shook her tears from her eyes, the last clinging reminder she was alone in the world. She moved inward letting out a cry in spite of her hiding that pain as she stumbled toward the ground, her leg covering with more blood now.
"Mama?!" pipqued the cry of Chidori crying at her mother's instant defeat.
Kunai looked upward letting the tears flow more gazing in awe and humiliation at the ice mare. She could of been an angel standing there so calm and serene till she moved like a spirit to the deep blue mare's side sniffing her wounds. Closing her eyes Chidori collapsed as her musles twitched beneath her raising her head to console her daughter.
"My Chidori.... Please don't cry lil one. Everything will be all right now. It will be.. " she murmured before passing out upon the ground.

Tirrana may of moved faster then Celendria but no one would have known. The both came to Kunai's side faster then a lightning bolt streaking the sky in mid summer. The girl's hands worked idly on the mare's shoulder seeing the torn flesh and the open wound towards the bone. She immediately got up and ran toward the teepee as she fetched things she'd need.
Celendria kept her eye on the injured mare but she also kept a vigil on Tirranna. The girl was dedicated to helping the mare's herd in anyway she could. it must be the reason why the mare saw her as a herd member just on two legs. She loved the animals so much, there wasn't any doubt she'd let any of the herd or realitives suffer.
Moving closely she spoke with a grace and eloquence that her bearings had taught her so many years now to speak.
"you are Saissis' grand daughter are you not? Tell me what creature has injured you like this. Have the dragons settled closer without my whereabouts?" she murmured nosing the mare's cheek. Celendria was genuinely worried about this female but her concern lied in the terrified eyes of the filly with her.
Soothing with soft whicker as is tickled through her muzzle she leaned in to nuzzle the child, "There there little one. You are safe here in this herd. I as an Elder will protect you and your mother. Come can you tell me what happenned?" she called softly to the foal leaving a feeling of peace and security in the air as her wise eyes trained on the youth.
Tirrana moved swiftly with water in a bucket, needle, and her healing salve. She came to a halt falling to her knees with a rag in hand. Dipping it in the heated water she began wiping the wound free so she could get her ready to fix her. Working quickly past the mare's protests she cleaned the torn flesh and stitched her up using a single plucked hair from Celendria's tail. Once she was finished she rubbed some salve into the mare's closed wound and looked her over. She was rather quick but a wounded animal could turn out to be something unpredictable.
When she was satisfied she took a brush and cleaned the mare's coat which began shining more as it should. Looking at the foal she reached into her pocket and produced a small treat offering it to the foal.
"Little dark ice... Saa... go on take it" she cooed holding out the treat. The foal was scared but she was used to the paitience one carried with foals.

Kunai felt herself falling mentally as she replayed the scene in her mind over and over again. The thought of her father's strict warning smacked her quite vibrantly as she felt the soothing fingertips and gentleness of the native girl upon her fur. She had learned of this native through her mother and grandmother. A friend they said, to be trusted and protected.
Letting her eyes flutter open after her shoulder had been mended, the mare looked deeply into the elder's on tranquil gaze. There was much worry and sadness in those pure orbs, a sadness Kunai could of done without. Ninjas weren't supposed to trust easily and she had let Sasuke win her heart so to speak. Even though now it was quite obvious Sasuke had used her as a tool in his evil plotting. So now what? That was the genuine concern that played within her subconcious currently. Looking more into Celendria's own eyes she was brought back to reality quickly letting her head to snap upward to see if her daughter was safe.
Breathing easier as she saw the girl bonding with Chidori she smiled a little, "Go on little one. She won't hurt you."
Chidori cocked her head from side to side sniffing the treat. Her mother's soft words urging her to take the offering. Cautiously, she craned her little neck outward to take the sweet smelling snack. Chewing happily she noticed her prize was rather tasty. Taking the initiave she butted the girl's hand for more, licking the stickiness of the honey and oats remaining. She looked at her mother, a bright little smile that made her look quite adorable, and happy.
Kunai felt the sting in her shoulder but she pulled herself on her legs. She wasn't a quitter and right now she wasn't stopping.
"Forgive me Celendria for causing you great alarm and worry but I" she spoke with her head slightly downcast, "had to find someplace safe."
"Mama? Is daddy going to hurt you again? I'm scared."
Kunai sucked in her breath immediately nuzzling her daughter before returning her solemn gaze at the elder, "Its Sasuke.... He's gone mad. He hates his daughters. He hates me. He..." she breathed heavy now as her shoulder began to sting as the medicine worked on healing.
"He tried to kill me... and... and he didn't care. He blamed me. He blamed Chidori. He hates us..." she felt herself grow weak again but she wouldn't collapse this time. Not in front of Chidori like this or Celendria.

Sasuke. How she remembered that name that rested within her mind and upon her tongue. A bitter memory that soothed itself for the time being not too long ago. The elder remembered the angeni well, feeling compassion for the estranged creature lost to his own delusions. He seemed frightning yet Celendria knew his visions were the tormentors. Yet hearing the young mare's worries she grew greatly concerned. Sasuke had grown out of control now more then ever and it mattered because he was now a threat to the herd.
Her eyes flickered as she gazed at the youth bonding with Tirranna. The foal carried her father's image but yet she was more like her mother. Still he had children he didn't accept and that in the elder's eyes was highly unforgiveable. She began to pace, more of a walk slowly in contemplation as she spoke, "You do realize that he is a threat to my herd by him taking the initiave to attack like he did" she murmured turning to look at Kunai. Long swept mane and tail like silver white rivers flowed with her.
She tossed her head and nodded, "You are welcome heree and are in my protection child, as are your children".
Snorting she paced a bit more then continued, "Forever is a long time child. What will you do once you've had time to rest? Will you stay and join my herd?" she questioned with soft eyes, "Or will you travel to find sanctuary elsewhere?"
The look in the mare's eyes were genuine as Celendria gazed upon her, but there was also determination setting in. A strong need to fight ran in her bloodline, though the current phase had her spooked and bewildered. Celendria wasn't looking to unsettle Kunai yet make her stronger. Her grandmother was very much like this yet she was gentle much like herself. Only Sassis' great granddaughter knew what she wanted and what she must do to continue her lifetime.

Kunai so wanted to cry into Celendria's mane letting out her emotions that no ninja could posses but she still stood firm and strong. Her shoulder was feeling better now though it stung a great deal still. She merely exhaled a deep sigh then looked into those caring eyes as Chidori clung to her shoulder.
"The first thing I need to do is find a place for my children to be safe. A sanctuary that will hide them should he come near" she murmured as her breath slowed more now calm and relaxed.
She had no clue what to do at this point but she knew she couldn't stay. If only Celendria would watch them as she took a self reviving trip to go over her possibilities. Sasuke would never see his daughters ever again, or her if she had any say in this matter. But what to do? This was so incredibly hard to muster when you feel a threat may come looking for you.
Naruto? Her head pulled up sharp remembering her other teacher. What would he say seeing she did the ultimate embarrassment to her family and friends. While she had a cautious temperament she could be rash in decisions. This was no hidden excuse... she had messed up really badly and now had a reason to protect her blood.
She was in no position to feel sorry for herself, what's done is done. Perking her ears she looked deeply at the ice mare and smiled, "I'd like to ask you to watch over my children Celendria. If you can locate Naruto I'd like him to train Chidori. I'm in no state to even start training her. It won't be for a long while..." she sighed looking at the horizon, "I just need to get my thoughts composed before I loose myself forever in this madness".
She felt like a coward but she knew this was what her feelings were telling her. Composing herself for another encounter would be her best advantage. If Naruto had Chidori then Sasuke couldn't touch her. Naruto would protect her with his life. That was what Kunai admired most about her other sensei compared to Sasuke.
Standing there she awaited Celendria's agreement or disagreement. Whatever the choice made she had to seek solace away from everything. An unbalanced ninja was never a welcoming alternative. She was weak and frightened which would guarantee her certain death. Her blood compelled her to to carry on and pass this obstacle. That is what she desired most now.
