The background is in the distant future after the destruction brought about by Armageddon. The war between the vampires and the humans continue to persist. In order to protect the humans from the vampires, Vatican has to rely on other allies to counter the situation. The protagonist, a priest called Peter Abel Nightroad, travels through the countries as a representative for the Vaticans. However, he is also part of "Ax", a special operations group controlled by the Cardinal Catherina. His encounter with a young girl called Esther will determine the struggle and survival between the human race and the vampires.

I like the anime. The priest is like Vash though, which is cool.

I thought this one was okay. Not my favourite, but it wasn't horrible. I'm just not into ones with nuns I think. Cause I didn't love Chrono Crusade either lol

Trinity Blood (トリニティ・ブラッド, Trinity Blood?) is a series of Japanese novels written by Yoshida Sunao, which were originally published in The Sneaker, a periodical that features Japanese fiction. The character design and original illustrations are done by THORES Shibamoto.
There are also manga and anime spin-offs - the manga is drawn by Kiyo Kuujou and is serialised in Asuka magazine, with 7 manga volumes currently available, whilst the anime is produced by GONZO and there are 24 episodes in total. It aired on Thursday on the WOWOW channel. There are considerable differences between the continuities of the novels, the manga and the anime.
Yoshida Sunao was unable to finish the story. He died on 15th of July 2004, shortly after the announcement of the anime, due to a lung blockage. He was 34 at the time. After he died, Kentaro Yasui (a friend of Sunao Yoshida and author of the Ragnarok novels) was asked to continue the novelization of Trinity Blood.
There are two sets of novels in Trinity Blood, Reborn on the Mars (R.O.M.) and Rage Against The Moons (R.A.M.). The events in Rage Against the Moons take place before those in Reborn on The Mars.
Opening Theme: "Dress (BLOODY TRINITY MIX)" by Buck-Tick
Ending Theme: "Broken Wings" by Tomoko Tane

Setting
The series takes place an indeterminate time in the future, 900 years after an apocalyptic war destroyed civilization, but after humanity reestablished itself. In this future world, the Roman Catholic Church has become a major military power, whose goals include the protection of humanity against the vampiric Methuselahs, who war upon mankind (or "Terrans" as they call humans). The seat of power is the Vatican, an attractive place with traditional European architecture; it is likely the same Vatican city in the real world (albeit perhaps rebuilt following the previous war). The Methuselahs are themselves another major political and military force. Their capital of Byzantium (presumably built on the site of the real world's Byzantium, now Istanbul) appears as an elegant metropolis, surrounded by a field of particles which filters out UV radiation thus protecting the Methuselah population. Both sides in this conflict are in a barely contained cold war against each other. The current countries use "lost technologies", remnants of advanced technology that survived the apocalyptic war. These include airships, missiles, computers, etc. Worth noting is a third great power, Albion; it is a future version of Britain, with Buckingham Palace clearly seen in a number of episodes, reigned over by a monarchy. It is characterised by its superior arsenal of lost technology and weapons and a higher level of manufacturing ability than the Vatican. Other states are rarely mentioned but the novelised/manga version does refer to the existence of other countries.
